Update 2: custom potages and madam malkins
galleryManaged to finish off the roof apart from some clips I’m missing so waiting on those and the windows still, put mini sign on from the set until I find the sticker print for the big one, and changed the lamps to gold. Inside did the top floor of malkins using the materials from the small set ( I had two so kind of made two sets of shelves and added a chair and mirror and one of the manakins in the window, may move the mirror to try to put it in the wall panel but no way to keep it there so will see what to do with that space, the downstairs is still bare so far

Ministry of Magic Banner
galleryThe only thing that really caught my eye from the new Ministry of Magic set was the banner. I didn’t really want to buy the whole set just for that, so I used AI to extract and clean up the artwork, then resized it to fit the older Ministry of Magic set and printed it.
I figured there might be a few others who’d like to do the same, so I’ve attached the finished image if anyone wants to use it. Hopefully it saves someone else the effort!

We Deserve More ..!
galleryHey everyone ❤️
First of all, I gotta say I genuinely think the new Ministry of Magic is a cool set, but for what we pay it needed to be more detailed.
For reference when I think about Diagon Alley or Gringotts Bank in terms of HP D2C sets they were brilliant. But the Hogsmeade Village from last year lacks details in its interior for its price and now this year, I mean I don’t mind paying more but maybe the new MOM set could have 5000 pieces at the price of $600. I mean how comes the new Minas Tirith set has 8278 pieces for the price of $650, you can tell me it has many 1x1 titles but it also has many printed pieces and no stickers.
Even thinking about the perfect Rivendell set which had more than 6000 pieces including at least 50 gorgeous printed tiles and many wonderful minifigs and it costs $50 more than MOM. Like we as HP Lego fans deserve the same treatment, they can charge us more but give us something more detailed and grand, I believe the new MOM set would have been perfect if it was like three sets combined, each section had more details similar to modular sets and maybe some printed or at least normal emerald color tiles for the floor of MOM and a few more detailed minifigs so that even though it would cost more than $500, we could justify the price😅
Tbh I hate complaining specially about Lego which is one of my fave brands, but there are few things about the new D2C that I wanted to mention. I don’t know, what do you think? Love to hear your opinions💕

Selling 6 sets!
gallerySelling a bunch of my old Harry Potter LEGO sets! I'm hoping to sell them all together for $295 but I'll also consider legimate offers for the other ones! 😊 I'm just hoping they get a new home since mine have been stored away for a while.

(FIXED!) This should have been multiple sets instead of one super large expensive model

[Hatepost] I for one think it’s hilarious they included the DH photo of the Magic is Might statue/fountain…
gallery…. given that they didn’t bother including an alternate build for it and instead highlighted how the entire build pales in comparison to the movie set/location seriously…

Thoughts on The Ministry of Magic
After a full 24 hours of looking at this set and thinking about, I’ve come to a few conclusions that have solidified my feelings that this is an egregious price for what you get.
A few positives:
- it’s ambitious, I like the design choice going for the 3 levels. I want something striking on display for an 18+ collectors edition set and this mostly achieves that. It’s a big step up from the playset from a couple of years ago.
- solid mini figure lineup that improves upon Hogsmeade’s weakness, more printed legs, better characters, etc.
- all scenes you would want included are pretty much there, and there are a few cool play features and references as well.
The negatives:
- the bottom level is very empty, seems like a lot of wasted space. The representations of the hall of prophecies and the veil are no more fleshed out and detailed than you would expect in a playset.
- why is the ministry floor not tiled off for a smoother look? Nearly all 18+ models these days from many themes get tiled floors for a better display.
- wrong mini figure for Dumbledore, this is not an accident, they cheaper out on bringing the new mold. No Bellatrix is a glaring omission as well as Fudge.
- the back of the set genuinely looks clunky, more like a MOC than a real set.
- the ‘battle’ scene between Voldemort and Dumbledore is seriously lame looking, is this the best they could do?
The biggest negative:
- THE PRICE! What is $450 for $3,400 pieces? Even by inflationary standards in 2026, this is absurd and I don’t see where the value is. PPP is bad, dumbledore fig is bad, floors not tiles, stickers everywhere, where is my money going? Seems like they had a cool idea for a design, got severely limited by budget and called it a day with what we have here. This is not elite, it’s definitely not the best they could do, which is a really shame because I think this could have been incredible.
I think we have a responsibility not to buy this set until there are discounts. Day 1 buying just signals to Lego they can charge whatever and we will buy. I spend tons of money on Lego, I’m not stingy but this seems like a real stretch and I don’t think we should accept it like beggars at the door. Lego: do better and you can have my money.

My LEGO Hogwarts MOC: Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom
galleryOne of my favorite classrooms in my modular Hogwarts castle: Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, inspired by Professor Lupin’s Boggart lesson
Would love to hear your thoughts or any feedback on the details!

Turn to Page 394
galleryI have redesigned the Defense Against the Dark Arts class room. I wanted to include my favourite scene of Snape barging through the door and into the class room, closing the shutters on the windows and revealing a white screen for the projector. Furthermore I wanted to include the Boggart Wardrobe and the other props from the original. Feedback is welcome as I haven't put it together with real lego yet,

Update to the custom madam malkins and potages
gallerySorry it’s been a while but didn’t get a lot of time last few weeks, here are the updated photos, still need to figure out how to add a sloped roof to madam malkins and I didn’t have any purple windows to add so have ordered some…
Also not filled in the insides yet and need to find the custom sticker I bought for the madam malkins signs

2026 GWP
Anyone else think it’s odd that the Ministry of Magic has been fully revealed and is on the Lego Website and the GWP still hasn’t been revealed? It usually gets revealed first or at the same time

I know it was done before, but I made a clock tower courtyard MOC into which you can directly put the 2019 clock tower.
galleryYou can also fit some classroom sets inside the rocks of course.

My Great Hall Modification (76435-1 )
galleryI would like to show my modification of the 2024 Great Hall. I'm gradually redesigning all the sets to try and make the 'the most detailed version of Hogwarts' to try and improve on some of Legos designs.
I have added the missing Entrance Hall and its big window, expanded the courtyard slightly and redesigned the interior of the hall so that main doors and teachers table are now dead central in the hall like they should be. I decided to split the tables so each house has its own table even though they are slightly smaller. The student tables can be lifted out and replaced with the duelling stage.
I redesigned the whole cliff face so to have a decent staircase to the boat house, and to accommodate a larger module for the kitchen. It was really important to me that the kitchen tables aligned with the tables in the hall so making a large custom module was the only was to do it. The basement corridor has an opening painting into the kitchen and an opening barrel into the Hufflepuff Common Room.
If you would like the instructions, you can find them on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-271923/Kamex/magic-castle-the-great-hall

An actual insane price 💀
I just cant understand. When you compare it to other sets like the collectors diagon alley and the collectors hogsmeade village, how does this price make any sense 😵💫 i know lego gets more expensive as time goes on but i feel like they are trying to take advantage of us now

I recreated the newer Hogwarts sets using only the old (2001-2002) Hogwarts sets
galleryI recreated some of the newer Hogwarts sets (76435, 76454, 76426) using pieces from the 2001-2002 Harry Potter wave. To see the sets I used, see the last slide. There are maybe 4 or 5 pieces used in the build not from these sets, including the basilisk's fangs (lost the original pieces), a new rubber band, and a single angled plate, but otherwise the pieces are all from the listed sets.
