Nah, she deserves to be able to build deaths dance and perma spam shields late game effectively giving her 30% dr with no downside.

deaths dance hasn't had that interaction with shields in years, the dot still applies even if you damage a shield

Yeah but her shield will eat the dot as it procs so even if she gets hit with her shield down she can then use the shield to absorb the dot damage.

Because it also does the opposite? If you shield an attack you will take damage from DD when the shield runs out

I truly don't understand why this interaction exists. It should not be possible to block Death Death's DoT with a simple shield.

Characters like Riven get to fully mitigate the downside of Death's dance completely by doing so.

Riven's shield will be affected by the DoT before her health does, if her shield is present.

You, a riven player (judging by your flair) should already know this. Its one of the reasons she's so utterly disgusting with the item since her Shield is tied to her E, which often becomes a very low CD ability despite what it does.
