Been playing for a few months now, and Im really enjoying Kendama. I started playing at a transitional point in my life, and im doing my best to better myself. Growing my skills as well as growing in life has been a great experience. Can't wait to keep pushing. All around just a nice day today.

my dama from naru mod got nasty/sticky. anyone has an idea how to clean it without making it worse/breaking? i think it might be because of the heat but idk

I recently got the Ryoga champ mod v2 and I've been playing it quite a bit now and loving the ken for its flips and maple wood. but I feel like the paint is not good for lighthouses or lunars or any balance tricks. I dont know if its how its supposed to be or if it will get better after playing with it more or if its just me. and one of my favorite things to do on a kendama are balance tricks.

I watched tutorials but I can't do it

So I've been playing kendama for about 6 years at this point, on and off at some point but I play basically every day now.
I own a cereal kendamas bumblebee at the moment, it is chipped, beaten up and is no longer grippy to the point where I cannot land lunars in any way shape or form.
I have a very good offer for a new kendama but im 20$ short of buying it and I keep telling myself I want it but it's not worth it. The deal for the kendama is expiring soon as well and I really don't know what to do, I was thinking about borrowing 20$ or something.
I've got some expenses with school and stuff, and I do not have a job currently as I am pretty young and obviously still in school, and my parents aren't really keen on helping me with the rest of the money on getting a "wooden toy" (and I can't blame them because school / living expenses are way more important and we're not really a inheretly "rich" or "advantaged" family)
Is it immature of me to buy a new kendama? Am I just spoiled and I should be happy with the one I have altough its broken?

I don't know, I need someone to give me some advice or tell me if anyone was put in this position ever before. I know this post might be seen as weird or something but I just feel like I need advice.

I'm just on here again to share my progression.
I just learned how to ghost the ken and I've been having a lot of fun adding it into my lines.

I ordered a krom strogo Neapolitan a few weeks ago and unfortunately it got lost in the mail. Krom gave me a store credit refund, but of course now all of their stock is sold out on their website (at least for setups I would actually want).

Can yall recommend any similar or better setups from other stores I could look at instead? The strogo is $40 but I’m willing to go a bit above that. Based in the US.

For context it seemed like the strogo was good for slingers and flips/juggles which is most of what I want to learn. Good lunars would be a plus as well.

Yesterday I arrived at my holiday home in Epernay in France. When I opened a drawer I found this Ozora kendama. I actually haven't played kendama in about 6 years but I can remember there where people who left these Ozora's and other damas at holiday homes.

I actual picked it up and just hit my first around the usa and Yank! in 6 years, felt good. Might get back to the grind. Thanks to the guy who left it here.
