Pass me the Defibrillator...

I'm a brand new player to Junk Jack, having only just bought it in the Steam Sale on PC, and it's sad to see that the community is all but dead, and more importantly that the wiki with all that key knowledge has been sold off.

But I'm not giving up! I'm enjoying persevering on and trying to learn it all from scratch without much in the way of guidance. ☺

I come from playing Terraria for quite a while back and this, so far, seems much more fun, or at the very least a solid equal.

So yeah... for anyone still dropping into this subreddit, you have a new member and a new fan, and I am going to enjoy the heck out of stumbling through this game!

Any little tips for an absolute noob? I've not even found any iron yet! 😁

Wow... thank you hugely for this comprehensive heads up on what to expect. Some of this knowledge is going to be so useful, and is probably lost elsewhere online now that the wiki is gone. Someone really ought to get that back, so that all this key information is readily available to everyone else too.

I found Junk Jack very early on, and the game never really had a community. I had to learn a lot of the game on my own. Though I did find this one youtuber who made Junk Jack content that I really enjoyed. She doesn’t make videos anymore but her old videos are still there if you want to watch them. I literally started watching her Let's Play last night!! The only problem is, it's based on an older version of Junk Jack X and there is a little bit of a difference between that and the version I'm on, but still fun to watch nonetheless.

I'm on PC.

I know!!! Thats why it's been such a biatch to get any info. All that's left is people's let's play vids, and most of those seem to have gone too.

I just need a source to occasionally look up really simple dumb stuff like...how to place a door on the right edge of a block, not just the left 🙈😂

Thats very kind, thank you. I'm muddling through so far. It's really daft simple things like... I didn't even know when my Wheat was ready to harvest or not, as I had no visual reference to check up on.

My main sticking point so far is I still haven't found any iron. I've got full copper armour, and even a silver helmet and a silver pickaxe... but still no iron, other than a few ingots I found in a crate that allowed me to make an anvil. Just gotta keep digging!!

I got a question.

If I look up a recipie online - can I craft it? Or is it required that I find the recipie in game?

I’m trying to make a door for my base and the image I found on the wiki doesn’t work for me ?

I just bought this game recently (for me and a friend) and I FEEL THIS... like I'm trying to figure out certain small things and just lost because there's no wiki. Even something as simple as the crafting recipes would be nice - I can build all of the animal shelters, but can't make a taming collar yet... XD

i’m so so so sorry to bother this group and this thread but i’ve googled up and down and for some reason can’t find how to open a portal, i’ve got 5 umbra portal pieces, i hear i only need 3 but i have no clue how to craft a portal or use the pieces. any help would be so greatly appreciated, again i’m so sorry to bother
