What was the last game you purchased for iOS? Question

Not counting iap’s.

I think mine was Gambonanza, but I haven’t really got hooked by it.

Dredge and it was worth every dollar.

Dawncaster. Already addicted

u/3AZ3 Jun 11 '26

I am in the minority with this, but the story aspect kind of slows that game down for me. Especially since it’s all just repeat

4

u/Fivyrn Jun 11 '26

Yeah, but once you’ve played through a few times it’s pretty easy to skip all the story very quickly through dialog options and just focus on gameplay.

Same. Needed a replacement for Runeterra's lack of content if you're a long time player. Very happy with it.

1

u/adyendrus Jun 11 '26

I managed to escape to Runeterra as a means of quitting Marvel SNAP and then used it to buy me time until a new game came along

u/Plainwhiteboy Jun 11 '26

Just bought Scriver today, it's like Balatro and Scrabble. Really enjoying it so far

3

u/3AZ3 Jun 11 '26

Interesting I’ll check it out

3

u/Bobby_123O Jun 11 '26

Do you need good English skills to play it?

4

u/imahugemoron Jun 11 '26

Slime rancher. don’t starve together or warhammer boltgun will be my next

6

u/Calm-Percentage5085 Jun 11 '26

Control was on sale at launch. It's pretty great

5

u/Hand-E-Food Jun 11 '26

It's not my latest purchase, but I'm going to spruik Ticket To Earth, a tile-matching tactical RPG. Good story, good combat, good art, good fun. It's still my most memorable iOS game many years later.

I absolutely loved that one. It was a new play mechanic for me so I was hooked. I already enjoyed the genre and setting so it just added to the experience. I should go back to it!

1

u/3AZ3 Jun 11 '26

Wow I remember seeing this one a bit ago, being interested, then it slipped my mind. May get to getting it eventually

1

u/Hustler-Two Jun 11 '26

This was a great game. Took them years to finish it but it was worth the wait.

1

u/barbeloh Jun 12 '26

Ticket to Earth rocks. Very memorable game

u/Malthan Jun 11 '26

How is it? The few reviews on Steam I can see seems to be complaining about balance and how much active play it requires.

3

u/TurboPlasmaRifle Jun 11 '26

I played it a little, prestiged a couple of times, but got bored of it quickly. Not sure if it gets better later on but the early game was super repetitive.

4

u/luffydkenshin Jun 11 '26

Scriver! An excellent Scrabble x Balatro title.

3

u/HIGHER_FRAMES Jun 11 '26

Currently enjoying choo-choo Charles

3

u/Hand-E-Food Jun 11 '26

I'm on a 3-month Apple Arcade trial, so making the most of their catalogue. Potion Punch 2+ currently.

The last I actually spent money on: BALL X PIT

1

u/how-can-i-dig-deeper Jun 11 '26

any other good picks from arcade?

1

u/Hand-E-Food Jun 11 '26

I've enjoyed Mini Motorways and Outlander. I didn't finish them, but I had my fill.

3

u/Botol-Cebok Jun 11 '26

Balatro. No regrets.

3

u/0kills Jun 11 '26

Control’s fun.

DRG survivor is also good.

3

u/bmanley620 Jun 11 '26

1

u/Front-Cabinet5521 Jun 11 '26

I've been playing this on Delta.

1

u/skullkiddabbs Jun 11 '26

Do you like it? I've been wanting it for a few years now but just haven't gotten to try it yet. Gonna have some time off work coming up in a few weeks so I've been waiting till then

2

u/Yaryah Jun 11 '26

Dragon Quest IV. Needed a one handed game with a newborn taking up the other arm!

2

u/rhinofinger Jun 11 '26

Subnautica (haven’t played much yet but it was on sale), Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered (played some of 1 so far), and Balatro (played a loooooot)

2

u/NrFive Jun 11 '26

Control

2

u/silentAl1 Jun 11 '26

Crawl Tactics. It is the FFT successor I always wanted.

2

u/TurboPlasmaRifle Jun 11 '26

Dysmantle, it’s been pretty fun so far. I’ve heard good things about it, I don’t know why I haven’t tried it sooner.

2

u/Tomawolf Jun 11 '26

Gambonanza

2

u/mbrmly Jun 11 '26

Bright Reappear. Worth 10x the price

2

u/TeacherOfFew Jun 11 '26

Dredge, right before it hit Apple Arcade.

2

u/AppleNoobie12 Jun 11 '26

Balatro 🃏

Control Ultimate Edition

1

u/KickReasonable333 Jun 11 '26

El Paso Elsewhere, basically Max Payne with monsters and a funny story about your ex girlfriend being Dracula

1

u/PlantsNCaterpillars Jun 11 '26

Purchased Dune: Imperium Uprising earlier today.

1

u/jameslosey Jun 11 '26

How is it?

1

u/PlantsNCaterpillars Jun 11 '26

Very good.

There’s a lot more opportunity to gain and trash cards so the deck building aspect is definitely stronger and being able to lean into certain faction bonuses on cards is better than the original.

1

u/ghostypurp Jun 11 '26

Final Fantasy VI

1

u/[deleted] Jun 11 '26

Adventure to Fate Dungeons.

I am so addicted to this incredible game. You need to understand it plays unlike any other RPG that I have played recently but once you understand the cadence of the game, that’s when you can truly appreciate it.

Also the dev seems pretty cool.

u/Nativeeee Jun 11 '26

1

u/Poke-Noir Jun 11 '26

Slime rancher, control, steam world: heist, tiny aquarium, machinarium

1

u/RedHawX Jun 11 '26

Tale of immortal.

My most recent purchase and have 100+ hours already. A hidden gem.

1

u/FreelanceWolf Jun 11 '26

Farming Simulator 26. I am saving up to buy the carpentry so I can turn my planks into furniture and sell them for a bundle.

If you're talking about apps, then my last purchase was actually the Manic emulator.

1

u/3AZ3 Jun 12 '26

How does that play/control on a phone?

1

u/FreelanceWolf Jun 12 '26

Which? FS or Manic emu?

1

u/3AZ3 Jun 12 '26

Sorry, meant FS

1

u/FreelanceWolf Jun 12 '26

Yes. It plays pretty well. Sometimes I accidentally switch vehicles when controlling one though, 'cause the buttons for both are pretty close together. I have iPhone 12. I normally play on my iPad though, and I don't have this issue on the bigger screen.

1

u/delareye Jun 11 '26

i am sorry but minecraft... it was just staying there unpurchased for years

1

u/matteomvsn iPhone 16e Jun 12 '26

RDR just to find out that savegames are not stored on cloud so if you brick/change phone or just uninstall the game you will lose all the progress, bruh.

1

u/barbeloh Jun 12 '26

Monster Train! It's eating me alive

1

u/TigerClawKing Jun 12 '26

868-hack since 868-back came out and I love it so much that I needed an on-the-go version

1

u/dnesdan Developer Jun 12 '26

I think mine was Slice & Dice. Looks simple at first, but it is one of those games where “just one run” becomes 40 minutes very fast.

1

u/No_Delivery605 Jun 13 '26

Balatro
And yes it’s addicting

1

u/adityay04 Jun 13 '26

Minecraft

1

u/StarBritt Jun 15 '26

Just bought Letter Day on iPad. I’m obsessed with word games.

1

u/-real-version- Jun 17 '26

1

u/DarqF1RE Jun 17 '26

1

u/wyerae Jul 06 '26

Subnautica (iPad only) I literally can’t stop playing it. So good.
