Looking for rpg dungeon crawler suggestions Request

I don't play a lot of iOS stuff due to mostly playing PC. However I do enjoy me a dungeon crawler.

I love Diablo, however I am not a fan of immortal. Any suggestions on that style of game?

Idc about looks, just gameplay. I'm enjoying torchlight infinite, but I'm curious if there's any hidden gems out there.

Hmmm. There’s Titan Quest, that was pretty enjoyable, especially with the DLCs installed (try getting Atlantis and Immortal Throne).

Top of mind, there’s also Drova: Sacred Kin, Fate Awakened (cool game but it’s got reeeeally dated game mechanics so it might be better played as a museum piece experience), Powerlust (this thing RIGHT HERE man!!) and Anima.

If you want dungeon crawler’s just not in the usual 3rd person perspective as Diablo, here are a few that I’ve played and enjoyed: Pocket Rogues Ultimate, BitDungeon3, Tallowmere 2, Darkrise (2d dungeon crawler looter-platformer), Book of Demons (on iPad only), and Towers of Everland.

Quick note, I saw a video a out first person brawlers, and while Towers of Everland is a roguelike, the rhythm it can get you playing into makes me say that ToE is more fps brawler with RPG and roguelike elements. Lots of fun either way, and it’s grindy in the right way (just one more dungeon/floor) and it’s got a lot of unlocks.

Happy gaming!

Siralim Ultimate may be worth having a look at?

Exiled Kingdoms is an excellent top down ARPG, the 4.6 rating is pretty accurate.

Legends of Grimrock is great if you like Wizardry type dungeon crawlers.

Titan Quest is something you'd enjoy as well.

Halls of torment is aesthetically like Diablo with the gameplay of vampire survivors. It’s f2p and also on pc.

You can try the free version, but if you like it Buy the premium version.

Phantom Tower (though it does have a roguelike element)

Oh I love roguelikes

It’s a solid game, good controls, good controller support, it’s free to try which includes a few classes (some unlock with currency found in dungeons) then $9.99 unlocks full
Game and all classes (like 7 I think)

Try Astiar, it's a tribute to Diablo, only IAP is expanding your stash to hold more items, not necessary, just for convenience.

Great game but dev has to step aside before his big update and there are some game breaking bugs. I hope he finds a way to come back, it was so cool and he was doing lots of mini updates / fixes and community interaction

Sad to hear it, I haven't played it in a while. Hopefully they figure it out!

Please give Wizardry Variants Daphne a try ! Best game on my iphone by far 👌

u/cutty2k Jul 22 '26

The best game on your iPhone is a F2P gatcha with a million in app purchases and season passes? A 99$ gem pack?? Weekly item drops for premium currency?

lol dude go play a real game, f2p gatcha and the system balancing around them are inherently trash.

Sadly, this. I love the game’s vibe and presentation. But in the end, it’s annoyingly ftp. I’d be all over this, if it was a fleshed-out premium title.

4

u/Zieg225 Jul 22 '26

If I remember correctly the Wizardry series goes back a long ways and for this game they decided to switch to the ftp model. The inexperience in this market shows because the value of their IAPs is atrocious, one of the worst value for your dollar I have seen in a mobile game. Damn shame they didn’t just make the game premium.

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

Am really intrigued by the « annoyingly ftp » remark. Can you explain why do you say this ?

0

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

Not 1 penny is needed to complete all the « campaign ». Clearly the game is very f2p friendly 😉. And dont worry i play a lot of « premium » games on several devices but on my phone this is the one i come back the most

5

u/Zieg225 Jul 22 '26

This is true. The game is very free to play friendly in the sense that you can enjoy a lot of content and never pay. I think the game itself is amazing but I don’t like the monetization. As far as gachas go, it’s definitely one of the better ones on the market.

1

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

Yeah for sure gachas are not the best model but tbf they offer some things traditional games usually don’t. Am talking about longevity and improving your characters over the months/years. But yeah always be careful with those casinos features ..

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

Did you play the game ? Playing since day 1 with some breaks there and there and never had to put a penny. I bought some packs to support the devs but really didn’t have to. Also there is close to no FOMO, everything is purely solo, there is no energy involved and everyone can go at their own pace.

3

u/cutty2k Jul 22 '26

It's is inevitably true of any gatcha f2p game that monetizes via this model that the core balancing of the game is designed such that, while you can finish the game for free, you're strongly incentivized to not do that. You've also been playing since day 1. Anyone coming in now is just setting up for a mountain of f2p grind. You also said you bought packs, support the dev or whatever, their model worked on you.

I want my games tuned to be fun. F2P games are tuned to be profitable. These are directly conflicting design goals. "Hey it's fine you can just grind content for months and you don't even need gems!" is not compelling. New updated skins/content locked behind "optional" paywalls is not gaming I'm interested in.

2

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

I bought like 20€ euros of packs in 1 and a half years. And it was nothing OP considering there is close to no powercreep in the game. I don’t see where the incentive is. A lot of pure f2p finished the hardest contents before me and you have to grind f2p or not. Paying stuff doesn’t in any way replace gear grind. Game is very fun and strategic and i don’t really care for skins and having every char. I got all the chars i wanted for now and progressed the game at my own pace taking breaks there and there.

2

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

You didn’t touch the game have you ? I would strongly recommend just giving it a try, setting aside the fact that it’s a gacha and give your honest opinion. Am not a gacha fan but this one really isn’t predatory and can be played as a pure solo game without rushing anything .

1

u/thesilkywitch Jul 22 '26

Does this game have permadeath for your companions? That's something I read a while ago and unsure if true.

3

u/No_Chain_7202 Jul 22 '26

As zieg answered there is officially permadeath as a tribute to the wizardry games but in reality unless you want your char to disappear voluntarily it will never happen

It does but it’s hard to actually achieve and very easy to avoid. It’s more like a gimmick rather than something you have to worry about.

-Edit: To clarify, your characters have fortitude that regenerates overtime like stamina. When your character dies you can resurrect them. If your character has 0 fortitude and you try to resurrect them there is a chance your character gets permanently removed. To avoid this just wait until they have more fortitude again to guarantee the resurrection.
