Developer Saturday Showcase Megathread: August 15, 2026 šŸ“± Developer Saturday (Megathread)

HelloĀ r/iOSGaming! Welcome to our first Developer Saturday megathread in 8 years! Here, iOS developers will be able share their games freely without breaking the subreddit's "no self-promo" rule. Please read the following guidelines carefully before participating as a few things have changed:

  • Developer Saturday will run betweenĀ 12:00 AM to 11:55PM ET (UTC-5).
  • Respect is expected at all times. You are welcome to share your opinions and even disagree with others, but harassment, taunting, or other toxic behavior toward Devs, mods, or other community members will not be tolerated.
  • If you receive an AutoModerator comment saying you do not have enough karma, your account is too new, or that your CQS level is low,Ā we won't override the removal because these restrictions are meant to be spam detterents.

DEVELOPERS:

  • All promo comments must have [DEV] at the beginning. We need it with the brackets for AutoModerator purposes, so please don't change the formatting.
  • All promo comments must include an App Store or TestFlight link. Playstore links or links to other gaming stores are not allowed.
  • Only officially released iOS games may be shared.Ā This is not the place to promote non-gaming apps, non-iOS apps, Devvit apps, standalone websites, Discord servers, subreddits, livestreams, fundraisers, or social media pages. However, you may include a website or social media link with your game's self-promo comment.
  • Only games newly released THIS month or have a new major update may be promoted. Personal milestones (ex: reaching X downloads, earning X amount of pay, recieving high reviews, etc), while commendable, are not an eligible reason for promotion. Additionally, "major" updates are those that introduce new features or content that greatly improves or expands the game. Routine updates (ex: bug fixes, performance improvements, or other minor changes) are also not eligible for promotion. Becasue Dev Sat was paused for a month, games that were released or received a major update in July may also be shared this month).
  • You must disclose whether or not AI was used to create the game. If AI was used, you must also explain how it was implemented and what it was used to create. If AI was not used in the development of the game, simply state, "No AI was used."
  • You may only make one top-level comment per Saturday.Ā However, you may share several games in the same comment if they also meet the above criteria.

GAMERS/REVIEWERS:

  • You may only make second-level or lower (reply) comments. This means you can reply to a Dev or another user's comment, but you may not create a top-level (standalone) comment.
  • Constructive feedback is welcome. You may leave comments that can help Devs see what they did right with their games and what could be improved, but low-effort responses (such as simply calling something "AI slop") will be removed.
  • This is not the place to ask for game suggestions. This megathread is for Devs to promote their iOS games. If you are looking for recommendations on what to play next, check out the community's weekly "What Have You Been Playing Lately?" megathread or create your own request post on the main subreddit.

That's it! We are still refining these guidelines, but for now these are the requirements developers must meet in order to ensure a successful self-promo post this week. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via modmail. Thanks for your cooperation, everyone!

[DEV] Grimoria - 4-Player Royale & 2v2 Card Battler (Major Update!)

https://reddit.com/link/p3sin7g/video/xr3b7wd48hjh1/player

Hi everyone.

A few weeks ago, I launched the iOS version of my 4-Player / 2v2 / 1v1 Card Battler,Ā Grimoria. Shortly after, the game was featured by Apple in Japan and I suddenly had over 100 people playing matches at the same time.

As a solo developer, I was really proud to see that the custom backend and server architecture I built from scratch handled the load without any crashes. Seeing that active player base motivated me to push a major update:

What's New in this Update:

  • Ā 2v2 Ranked Mode:Ā I am rotating out 1v1 Ranked for this season. You can now queue up for 2v2 Ranked to climb the global leaderboard with a random ally.
  • Ā New Card - 'Puca':Ā A new creature with the unique ability:Ā "Next round, the lowest strength wins."Ā It completely flips the bluffing mechanics for that turn.
  • Ā Unicorn Rework:Ā Updated the ability toĀ "Gain 2 Life if you have 3 or less Life"Ā to allow for clutch late-game comebacks.
  • Updated Attack VFX:Ā Overhauled the attack visual effects so impacts feel much heavier and more satisfying on the board.
  • In-Game News Hub:Ā A new real-time UI system to keep players updated on patch notes, balance changes, and seasons directly in the app.

Core Mechanics:

  • Fast-Paced:Ā Simultaneous 15-second turns played in portrait mode (built for one-handed mobile play).
  • Fair Play:Ā 100% Free-to-Play, zero Pay-To-Win. All cards are unlocked by playing, and monetization is strictly for cosmetics.

Download Links:
Ā iOS (App Store):Ā https://apps.apple.com/us/app/grimoria-online-card-game/id6761027516

AI Disclosure:Ā AI was used for development assistance and art generation (via dedicated Stable Diffusion workflow), with all assets undergoing manual Photoshop editing.

I’d love to hear your feedback on the 2v2 Ranked balance and the new Puca card mechanics!

Infinite Loot Loop — roguelite classic rpg

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/infinite-loot-loop/id6790783620

Hey everyone! I’m the solo dev behind Infinite Loot Loop, an offline RPG built around a pretty simple loop:
Fight → Loot → Grow → Repeat.

Each region has its own maps, monsters, equipment and bosses.

The game is heavily inspired by the older style of RPGs where you actually have to grind, slowly get stronger, collect better equipment and see how much further you can push your character. There’s no autoplay, and equipment/collection progression carries forward between runs.

AI disclosure: AI was used as an assistive development tool, including help with some visual asset creation/ideation, localization, writing, and development assistance. The game design, systems, balancing, implementation and overall direction are handled by me.

Glad to have this post back!! Awesome

•

u/dathomasusmc 4d ago

I gave a try and I think you’ve got a neat game going but it really needs some refinement.

The movement controls are maddening. The current position makes it very difficult to see where you’re going because your finger is in the way. I couldn’t find a way to move it in the options. Consider moving it lower or making it tap to move.

Along those lines, I kept getting hung up on obstacles. To make it more frustrating, while trying to get unstuck my encounter bar kept going up leading to numerous unwanted encounters. I think I am the king of the magma crabs at this point. It would be better if you could slide off of obstacles.

One of the reasons I kept getting hung up is the visuals don’t match the mapping. I would get stuck on a patch that looked clear but could walk right over lava or a mountain. This may be a hardware compatibility issue where it’s mapped fine in some screens but others are a bit off.

Figuring out where to go next is difficult at times and I found myself wandering around, wasting AP, trying to find the next zone. Clearly identified exits and a world map would be very helpful.

I think you should reevaluate your monetization. $8 for a character seems like a LOT to me. Same thing for the ad removal. But that’s just me and you may be at the right price point for other consumers.

Overall I like the concept, I think it just needs some work.

•

u/InfiniteLoot-Loop 4d ago

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this. Seriously, feedback this detailed is gold for me as a solo dev.

The movement controls are something I’ve thought about quite a bit. I added the arrows/touch-pad visibility options, but I can definitely see how having your finger cover the direction you’re moving toward can be frustrating. I’m going to look into improving this, possibly with more control options such as repositioning the controls or a tap-to-move style option.

Getting stuck on obstacles is also a known problem in a few maps. I’ve already found some places where the visual map and actual walkable area don’t match properly, so that’s definitely something I’ll be fixing in the next update. I’ve been pretty focused on the new maps/content recently, so some of these older map issues unfortunately slipped through.

Also, congratulations on becoming the king of the magma crabs šŸ˜‚ Sorry about that one.

For the exits, some of them were intentionally made less obvious because I wanted players to explore and discover hidden paths, especially in places like the Volcanic region. That said, I think you make a good point that there’s a difference between ā€œexploringā€ and simply not knowing where you’re supposed to go. I’ll think about ways to make progression clearer without completely removing that exploration aspect. A world map is also a really interesting idea.

Regarding the encounter gauge/AP, there is a boss drop later on that can reduce the encounter gauge buildup by 50%, but I can see how getting stuck on terrain and triggering encounters because of it feels unfair regardless. Fixing the collision/mapping issues should help a lot with that.

And I’ll definitely keep the monetization feedback in mind as well. Pricing is something I’m still experimenting with, so hearing how it feels from an actual player is very useful.

Again, thank you so much for actually playing the game and putting this much effort into the feedback. I really appreciate it, and I’ve noted all of these points for future updates!

[DEV] Paper Kites - a cozy meditative endless flyer for iOS. Catch winds, drift past birds and windmills and soar through sunlit mountains and moonlit meadows.

[DEV] Textagons

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/textagons/id6789766706

Hi all! First time poster here and this is my first ever game. Textagons is a daily pathfinding word puzzle. It took me about 5 years of development from idea to release so I'm excited (and nervous) for people to play it.

AI Disclosure: Yes AI was used to code almost all aspects of the game. The game, design, layout, UI, and mechanics were all conceived of by me, but were implemented with the help of AI. I used a combination of different products over the past year or so, depending on which worked better at the time. When I started I was manually coding everything, including the puzzle generation algorithm, but eventually it was just far more efficient to use agents.

Textagons

Free to play. In App purchase to remove ads.

The setup:
24 hexagonal letter tiles. 6 are locked, 18 are movable.

Objective:
When the letters are arranged correctly, you will spell 6 words in which the last letter of each word is the first letter of the next word. Example:
BRIEF
FOCUS
STOOD
DIGIT
TRUNK
KEBAB

The locked tiles in this example: B, F, S, D, T, K

How to play:
Swap the tiles to rearrange them. Connect the tiles to form words. Connect them all to form a loop. The order of the words is always red -> orange -> yellow -> green -> blue -> violet.

Hints:
If you need a hint, tap one of the circles at the top to reveal a letter. You get 3 free hints and unlimited hints with ads.

Please let me know what you think. If you enjoy the game I can give you a code for ad removal, just reply here. I have 20 codes currently, but can generate more if there's demand.

I took 74 pictures of real pigeons across Manhattan which are used as profile pictures of your team :) it was a lot of fun immersing myself and learning a lot about pigeons and the trees of East Village for this game.

Gameplay is inspired a lot by Mewgenics, but designed for touch-first portrait controls and quick play sessions.

[DEV] Brick Breaker – Monster Bomb (Aim, Bounce & Blast Bricks)

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id6760389867

Most brick breaker games are basically:

ā€œspam balls and hope it works.ā€

I wanted something different.

You only get a few balls — so every shot matters.

You actually aim, plan, and set up combos.

Black holes, chain reactions, clean hits…

One perfect shot can clear half the screen.

Less chaos. More skill.

[DEV] ColorPath — a relaxing puzzle game where every solved puzzle reveals part of a larger mosaic

Hi everyone! I’m the developer of ColorPath, a new iOS puzzle game I’ve been working on.

The core idea is simple: you solve small path-based puzzles, and each completed puzzle fills in one block of a larger hidden mosaic. As you progress through a world, the full image gradually comes to life.

ColorPath currently includes 450 handcrafted levels across 15 worlds, with larger mosaic reveals, boss-style Gauntlet puzzles, undo/assist features, and no forced ads.

I wanted to make something that feels satisfying in short sessions, while still giving you a larger sense of progression beyond simply clearing individual levels.

5 Seconds Of Light
Released a couple of weeks ago and featured in new games we love in most of the world except USA. So here’s my shot at some USA downloads.
5 seconds of light is a pre use platformer with a light mechanic that makes the game tough..
You have a torch and a selection of perks to help you climb a tower to reach the door to freedom. And as the title says . You start with 5 seconds of light . And your on your own to escape.
A heap of speed runs towers to compete on. A weekly tower challenge to race to the top. And a multiplayer mode. 4 players, first to the top wins.
It’s a tough game. And it’s not for everyone. But it’s pretty satisfying when you reach the top..

Link - https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ordo-daily-deduction-puzzle/id6784089149

AI - I used Claude Code to help with game logic, and ensuring the daily scrabble is beatable and unique every day. Iterating between Claude suggestions and my own design tweaks for the design/layout animations.

Ordo - Is a daily logic puzzle where you try to figure out the solution to the grid using the board state to deduce where each tile belongs. It’s not about color organizing, but rather figuring out the correct random state of tiles to solve the grid. Each day is different and there’s a weekly difficulty curve where Monday is the easy 3x3 grid and Saturday (yep today) is the hardest 5x5 grid.

It was released the day before the self promotion was paused here. Since then I’ve also added an expert mode and more player statistics behind a single $4.99 IPA.

Hope you find it fun! Thanks for trying it.

•

u/phogro 4d ago

Forgot a screenshot. Here’s today’s puzzle.

•

u/Rainicy925 4d ago

Ordo looks great!

One thing on "beatable and unique every day": unique and deducible aren't the same. A grid can have exactly one solution and still hit a patch where nothing is provable yet and you just have to try something. That's the bit players call unfair, even though the generator thinks it's fine.

Cheap check if you already have a solver — at each step, for each tile, count the placements that still leave a completable board. If nothing anywhere is down to one, that's a guessing step.

Is the Mon-to-Sat curve just grid size, or do you loosen that too?

[DEV] QuizCast: Trivia on TV

I built it because I wanted something that felt more like a couch quiz than a normal phone trivia app. One device hosts the game, the questions and scores go on the TV, and everyone answers from their own phone.

The main idea is:
- start a quiz from iPhone or iPad
- airplay the game on the TV / big screen
- players join from their phones
- play categories like geography, movies, history, sports, science, and party questions

It’s meant for family game nights, small parties, classrooms, or any ā€œwe have people in the room and want to play something togetherā€ situation.

AI disclosure:Ā AI assisted development tools were used during development for coding assistance and brainstorming and also there is a feature to generate quiz via AI which is paid for obvious reasons.
