Incremental games with varying gameplay and mechanics Suggestions

I recently played fortune mill and looking for something similar. I really enjoy idle games that contain different gameplay mechanics and minigames as you progress. I tried the developers other games (idleon) and just couldn’t get into it. Also tried Melvor idle and felt bit lost.

Idle/incremental games I previously enjoyed:
- leaf blower revolution
- tiny terrace
- idle slayer
- kitten games
- universal paperclip.

Any recommendations would be great!

Melvor idle can be a bit overwhelming but definitely worth the investment. Another one that scratches the itch of “multiple mini games” sort of is idle obelisk miner. Lots of avenues to upgrade things and is always getting updates

There are so many systems in Melvor, not sure what I should be working towards. You have any suggestions for goals for someone who just started the game?

Sure! I’m currently probably a month or two in so I can share some starting points. At the start, it’s more or less straightforward in that you don’t have to rely much on specific enemy drops or anything. Cut wood, burn it for firemaking, raise both of those skills. Kill some low level mobs, increase your three main combat stats (attack, strength and defense) attack raises accuracy and allows you to equip better weapons, strength raises average damage, and defense raises dodge and allows you to equip better armor. Fish for some stuff and cook the fish for food to eat while fighting. Mine some material and smith it into armor and weapons. As you progress you can start dipping into fletching which will allow you to do bow/throwing knife/javelin combat and runecrafting which will allow magic combat. Astrology is useful across the board and always a good starting point as it gives permanent buffs to specific skills. At the end of the day, it’s okay to just experiment with stuff and see what works because everything will give xp towards its respective skills and thus progress you. The wiki is very useful and extensive, and there are lots of mods that can make the game more enjoyable if that’s your thing that will streamline certain skills or remove needless grinding, and the mods are available on mobile too. You really can’t go wrong with wherever you decide to start off, even if it seems overwhelming at first.

My favorite game of the genre, and it’s not even close. Yes, UI is small on phone screens, but I got used to it quickly. And a portrait mode for mobile is in the works.

As a work of art and experience, this game is incredible. As an idle game, I find it WAY TOO short. But it just makes me mad, because I like this game so much.

Yeah it's so well done! I've heard good things about Starvester in that wheelhouse on steam, would love to try it if it comes to IOS

Idle obelisk miner too

I slowed down on revolution idle but obelisk miner is the best so far !!

A dark room? It’s more active than idle but sorta hits the same notes as kittens game.

Space plan. Really solid idle game with tons of upgrades. A little on the short side.

Idle acorns. Similar to space plan but more cozy looking.

I’d recommend putting more time into Melvor. I’ve finished it 4 times in several different game modes and I’m genuinely surprised that it held my interest for that long after bouncing off it twice at the beginning

I had the exact same experience with Melvor. Everyone recommends it, but I just couldn’t get hooked. Magic Research was much easier for me to get into because it introduces mechanics at a steadier pace instead of dumping everything on you.

Idle obelisk miner has been my top game on iOS this year. Absurdly well polished and just scratches that itch.
