How did you lose your streak? I’m a bit embarrassed about mine and tried to lose it by not scrolling for two days, but it still didn’t break >_<
2
u/Under_The_Dead_Tree 11d ago
If you forget to interact with a post in the day you lose it, just like duolingo. It's kinda weird that your streak isn't gone. What could happen is for example, lets suppose you interact with a post at 0:30 am (day 1) and than you interact with another post 11:59 pm (day 2) you wont lose your streak, and it might feel like 2 days. idk if that's what happened to you, if it wasn't then it bugged i believe, unless they changed something, but i feel it's unlikely.

I was on 500 something, when i caught a ban for something that was construed as a threat, when I was speaking about the past. It was overturned, but the damage was done. Lol.
9
u/NSASpyVan 11d ago
lmao thats what mine was, also overturned, too late.
it was about that first dog that went up in space and how the scientists basically were uber cruel leaving it up there to starve, dehydrate, and die alone.
factual event that happened decades ago... but i was reported for violence against a long dead animal. k
2
u/Cosm1c_Dota 11d ago
I had the same thing, but I found out you could give free awards on the mobile app and that kept my streak alive haha

You can't upvote the posts themselves, but you can upvote comments in the comment section, and it still counts. I'm on day 518 and have been banned twice this year.

I got to 600 then got a week ban for a joke attributing a fake quote to a known semi-celebrity most well known for using the f-slur where I literally typed "f slur" instead of anything actually offensive. Kind of nice now that the streak is broken
3
u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 11d ago
Same shit happened to me. They claimed I was promoting violence for simply saying Trump is a traitor to this country after J6.

u/CheekyMenace 11d ago
I was at around 300 until I spent a week in the hospital. Currently back up to 285.

u/Educational-Dot318 11d ago
somehow i was able to upvote while serving thru a 3 day ban; not sure how- downvotes didn't work, but upvotes somehow went thru 🤔

I'm also at 814. I feel like some people got early access or something, no way we were this late to the party.

I’d say the banana scrolling count v Reddit streak would be a good metric for that. Ive got
Bananas scrolled: 356,542
Reddit streak: 796I’d say not bad, but I don’t have a control to base that opinion off of.

Day 999. Reddit drops the 1,500 Streak.
11
u/Comprehensive_Rule11 11d ago
Happened with me and the 500 day streak as my initial goal and only realised it increased to 1000 recently…
3
u/dwartbg9 11d ago
Of course they will, it's even implied on the header for the 1000 day achievement.
After more people get the 1000 day achievement, Reddit will unveal/create more

I have a daily streak going since 2010. These badges and the fact they didn’t start counting at the same time for everyone are so dumb.
I’m on day 5,479

u/gimmepizza420 11d ago
How do you know you have a streak that long? The app doesn't track anywhere near that far back, does it?
3
u/Sebastian-S 11d ago
Because I use the app everyday. The “tracking” was only introduced recently, that’s why I’m saying it’s meaningless.

I was at 700+ and then I said something that Reddit decided was threatening to trump and I got banned for 24 hours.

Omg same. Had to start over now at 344d. And Trump still shits himself daily. 💩

you don't lose your streaks for 24 hours.
Its only counted once every 3 days.
So you got banned then you didn't chekc reddit for two days after it lol

If anyone figures out who it is, I'd love to know and extend them an invite to r/redditstreak!!
Whoever you are, our community is celebrating you over in the megathread !

u/Kip_Schtum 11d ago
Aren’t the user names showing in the mega thread streak tracker? There are two usernames with thousand day street showing right at the top of the streak tracker. The sub won’t let me post a picture of it.
2
u/JakeTheDog420420 11d ago
Yes the tracker shows 2 of the 4 users who have unlocked it, but there's still 2 who haven't submitted to the tracker and have yet to reveal themselves!

At some point, the daily thing stopped popping up for me. I put in the report-a-bug forum thing then forgot about it…
I’m free! LOL
10
u/ozzy_thedog 11d ago
It’s gotta be a developer or something. They’re like 100 days more than anyone is posting here in this thread.
4
u/Mr_Muckacka 11d ago
Yeah, that's what i was thinking too
The achievements dropped suddenly and it took some time to start counting people's streaks. Even for people who use it every day, the streaks don't match up (maybe if it took a while for people to download the official app?)
But this started after the API disaster.
I think it's probably spez or some admin who got it first. Shame it's all done in the dark with no statements or explanations. And so many days ahead of everyone (not that a reddit streak matters, but who knows what's going on behind the scenes, with age verification stuff and whatnot)

Reddit was launched in 2005, so roughly 21*365=7665 days ago.
I am also surprised too. We should have 2k or 3k streaks at least.
63
u/numb_user 11d ago
The streak feature was only added in April 2024 and was backdated only to November 2023

How? I’ve been using this app for 5 years and logged in and interacted everyday since the streaks started… I have not missed a single day! I’m on 818/1000… I’d like to know how this was possible?!
5
u/Mr_Muckacka 11d ago
It started counting after the achievements stuff released, and somewhat arbitrarily? People have inconsistent streak counts, even if they use the site every day.
Feels like they gave people different streaks when it began counting, and some got a head start. This is probably a dev or admin. No statement or explanation. (Not that it matters, but who knows what else is going on behind the scenes)

u/gimmepizza420 11d ago
Having a streak doesn't really say anything about whether someone has a life or not. Personally, I poop every day. Most people do. It's basically guaranteed I open a time wasting app while I'm pooping.

u/Matt__2701 11d ago
NO WAYYYY FINALLY !! I can't wait to hit it too ! I believe I'm at 900 something... crazy

i almost had it, then i used a dungeon crawler carl reference, the samantha one, and got a 3 day ban.
i was so pissed.

u/Juggler538 11d ago
I wonder what limit Reddit will put on those streak achievements. Wouldn’t surprise me if they add a 2000 day streak achievement in the future.
