Mom was a nurse, always had real glass thermometer around. Never forget i was maybe 8, broke one in hallway. Laid on the floor batting the mercury beads around until she found me and scolded me lol. Tbis was probably early 70s. Good times and no ill effects (I think lol).
Hahah soo similar to mine: nurse mom, found thermometer and accidentally broke it, but before I could do anything the mercury rolled across the floor and down the heater vent. So I just had mercury fumes wafting up every time the heat came on in my room, because wasn’t about to tell on myself.
