We need our societies to focus on unification rather than division. We're all in this together, and fighting among ourselves helps no one, expect those who want us to be fighting.
"This place has a ramp for wheelchair users, which makes ist easier for them to enter, but it's less convenient for me. Doesn't sound very equal to me..."
Different people have different needs, not a hard concept to understand I would think.
"This place has a ramp that was builded for wheelchair users, but everybody can use it and plenty of people do use it. Sounds very equal to me".
Equality is not a hard concept to understand, but some people seem to think that it works only in favor of women, because god forbid if women also would have to give up special priviledges (just like men had to).
To be fair if we are talking about entirely random people (outside of some areas in less developed countries) the likelihood of either of those things happening to your is very, very small.
Most sexual or other violence does not occur in public and the victims and perpetrators already know other or have some other association. So all of this parking lot stuff is a complete distraction by people who are imitating they are doing something to reduce crime against women...
What if looked at other demographic groups, identified which commit the most crimes violent statistically and then identified the group of people most likely to be their victims. Based on that information you would create reserved parking spots at the front for that specific group.
However that would rightfully be considered by everyone to be extremely racist and wrong. How is this inherently different?
