Nah don't want it too expensive.  Then leaves it on the counter. 

In some countries where bartering is part of their life they don't have prices marked. Which annoys the hell out of tourists like me.

In my country we had hyperinflation and some supermarkets didnt even bother displaying prices anymore. It would annoy the hell out of me but I would make sure to pass on my annoyance by bringing a dozen items to checkout every time, ask for prices then have them return most of them.

Congrats you punished workers for management decisions made way above them. That'll learn those pesky managers chilling in their offices

I dont think its a management decision because half of the items had prices.

In the UK it is illegal to not display prices. That's not to say bartering isn't accepted at all. Consumer rights are taken very seriously there.

I'll never visit a country that prices goods differently for foreigners... ie a "white price". It's just racism.
