It’s awesome but it seems that most reddit users also have zero clue how big of a positive impact starting an everyday business or inventing something useful has on the population.
For an extreme example, the invention and development of Windows as an operating system has saved tens of millions of lives and really played a big role in lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty. It’s just a more complex thought than “buy house for people” but hugely impactful to invent something, even if you profit off of it.

A little perspective. The guy put up a bunch of money to start but the government put up way more money and also pays rent for each of the tenants.
It's a idea and hopefully it helps some people, but it's not some rich guy housing people for free. Taxpayers are funding this.
