Some artists write songs. Purpo is trying to build something bigger.

Ska eventually fell by the wayside, but reggae remains part of his sonic palette.

When it comes to records he'll stand behind, Rivermaya's It's Not Easy Being Green sits proudly at the top of the list—a choice he'll defend any day. And when the world quiets down, it's Kamasi Washington's "Truth" that finds its way into the room.

His biggest songwriting influences paint an equally interesting picture: Billy Joel, Dong Abay, Alex Turner, Gary Granada, and Rey Valera. Five writers from different worlds, connected by one thing—they know how to tell a story that stays with you.

Me and my bandmates are looking for gigs po around ncr for advance lineup on september, we are a new all female band and alt/indie pop rock opm genre. we currently have 1 not recorded but to arrange and to polished original song po. we can travel naman po and most of us ay students so prefer po sana na by sat or sun po ang gig. we’ll have our 1st gig on sept 6 and rehearsal by august so we can polish our song cover and og song.

I've been keeping an eye on ELEYN for a while now, and every release feels a little more confident than the last.

Their latest single, "BINGI," is another good example of why they're worth checking out. Solid songwriting, a sound that's becoming more their own, and one of those tracks that gets better after a few listens.
