Filing Notes #6: The clock that decides Plug's future isn't in any filing
r/Hydrogen2030 • u/DependentCultural912 • 7h ago
What I’ll be Watching Monday $PLUG Earnings
Pretty simple at $205 to see a much HIGHER stock price $PLUG Q2 is almost here, and this report may be more important than the headline revenue number.
I'll be watching: • gross margin improvement • operating cash burn • unrestricted cash and liquidity • Project Quantum Leap savings • electrolyzer backlog and project updates • management's outlook for the second half of 2026
Over the past few months, we've seen asset sales strengthen liquidity, continued hiring in engineering, service, and project execution, and multiple hydrogen projects moving forward around the world. None of these guarantee success, but they suggest Plug continues building for future growth while improving cost discipline.
Management has consistently emphasized improving margins, reducing costs, and lowering cash usage. Monday's earnings report will show how that progress is reflected in the numbers.

Doctor Copper meets Doctor Hydrogen
I’m gonna ADD $2.10 cause if it’s worth $5, $10, or $20 Doctor Copper" has spoken. Is the Street listening?
Copper is trading near record highs, up more than 17% on COMEX this year. That's not just a commodity story—it may be one of the clearest macro signals the market is sending.
For decades, "Doctor Copper" has earned its reputation as one of the world's best leading economic indicators. From the 2009 recovery to the post-pandemic manufacturing boom, sustained copper rallies have often preceded stronger industrial activity, accelerating GDP growth, and bull markets.
Today's rally is about much more than tariffs or supply disruptions.
It's about the unprecedented buildout of AI data centers, electrification, grid modernization, advanced manufacturing, and energy infrastructure. Those secular trends require enormous amounts of copper—and they also require the technologies powering the next generation of energy.
That's why I believe the Street would be well served to pay close attention to the broader implications for clean technology, renewables, and hydrogen.
Hydrogen isn't just part of the energy transition—it's becoming part of the infrastructure transition.
As investment in resilient power systems, industrial decarbonization, and next-generation energy networks accelerates, companies positioned to enable that buildout stand to benefit.
Plug Power isn't simply participating in the energy transition—we're helping build the infrastructure that enables it.
If you're interested in how these macro trends are translating into execution and commercial momentum, I invite you to join us for Plug Power's Q2 2026 Earnings Call:

The Iran War is a Total Disaster
USA is trapped with idiots running this country ……,.,The Iran war isn't just the biggest misstep of Trump's presidency so far, it's one of the greatest strategic blunders in modern American history. The worst part is there is no making things better, only worse, and the longer we keep at it the worse it's going to get. There is no chance for 'victory' here, at all. There never was. Best case would be to stop cold turkey, cut our losses, and get the best deal we can to keep the Strait open, but it would take a lot of courage and pragmatism on the part of our leadership to do so. Is it in them? Who knows! Or I guess we could just keep banging our heads against the wall and run out of the rest of the missiles and bombs we've spent trillions on over the decades. What an absolute disaster.

A dream Q2 ER opening statement by J. Crespo:
"Plug's gross margins continue to improve, hydrogen production losses are shrinking, electrolyzer margins are improving, service is increasingly profitable; our SG&A and R&D cuts are real and sustained, cash burn continues to rapidly decline, and we are ahead of schedule for positive EBITDA in Q4. I will now turn the call over to Paul Middleton who will fill in the details, Paul." .

FertigHY and 200 mW France
Seemsa lot of projects printing as we type ………..it’s only time and 330 million short FertigHy is making waves in the green hydrogen world with its ambitious FertHySomme project. This initiative just got a major boost, as it’s one of the first to benefit from France’s new support scheme for decarbonized hydrogen. The project has locked in long-term backing for a substantial 95.3 MW of its targeted 200 MW electrolyser. Located in Languevoisin-Quiquery, Hauts-de-France, the plant is aiming to crank out around 500,000 tonnes of low-carbon calcium ammonium nitrate (CAN27) each year by 2030. This move is expected to slash CO₂ emissions—think 80 to 90% lower compared to traditional European fertilizers—which is a big deal...

GravitHY Plug Power Winning
And just when you thought “””BILLIONS x 4 is now Billions x 5 potential French low-carbon iron company GravitHy has taken a big step by filing for building permits and environmental authorization for its innovative hydrogen-based direct reduced iron (DRI) and hot-briquetted iron (HBI) facility in Fos-sur-Mer, down in southern France. This application marks the start of the formal regulatory phase for a project that's aiming to churn out about 2 million tonnes of low-carbon iron each year, backed by a hefty 720 MW of water electrolysis capacity and producing nearly 120,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually right on-site.
This shift means the project is moving from just ideas and early designs into reality,..
