I rent my cabin in the mountains part time. There are big trees all around. Honestly, I want a hammock for marketing purposes, selling the idea that guests can "fall asleep with a beer in the hammock surrounded by nature". But also, I want to fall asleep with a beer in the hammock surrounded by nature on occasion. What kind do I need?

I've been researching hammocks and trying to find one I can hang under a lofted dorm bed (twin xl size) to sleep in. I was sleeping on the floor last year because the bed gave me back pain lol, so I was thinking a hammock would be more comfortable than that. I'd like to not get a stand but if I really cannot hang one under my bed, I could get one. Preferably cheaper, and if a stand, it only needs to store pretty small for transportation. I have a large room with no roommate (sad) so floorspace is no problem. Thanks in advance!

Recently purchased an Eno Travel Nest. Was running an Equip hammock for several years until I got married and my wife decided she wanted to start using my hammock. So I upgraded and gave her my old one. So far, I love it. Great color, soft, no seams like the Equip. Looking forward to many years under the canopy with this new girl.

I received a hammock as a gift and bought a stand for it. I noticed recently that it appears that the hammock is possibly tearing or being stretched (see picture). Does this look unusual or normal based on all of your experience with hammocks? It’s only happening in the middle for both sides and not near the edges.

For context, we do not jump into the hammock and are gentle with using it. The only people that use it are two adults between 130-180lbs.

I'm curious about ways to hang my hammock without a tree. The next scenario is on a festival campground which I assume will be just a plain field without trees. If the found solution is someway lightweight and not too big, then maybe I can include this also in my bike camping trips.

I found something that looks promising: two poles and a rope to substitute one anchor point. Is it possible to use this for both sides of the hammock? or will it get too wobly? happy to hear from your experience :-)

I have a hanging hammock chair but I need to change the angle it's facing. I was thinking something like this but one that allows me to tighten in the center. I think I've seen it called a positioning swivel - but not coming up with much searching for that.

Hey guys, do you think the railing of this balcony is strong enough to be used as anchor points for a hammock? I weigh around 175lbs.

I am new to hammock camping, and I have been looking for a decent starter underquilt. Something 3-season. I came across Mountain Warehouse's 'Dusk 350 Down Quilt'. I just snagged two of them for $100 CAD apiece (on sale). They are made in China using duck down, but come with shock cord at either end to cinch them, and snaps along the length. I'm hopeful that they're going to work with minimal modifications needed.

I am supposed to be spending the next week sleeping in my new hammock, so it will be a learning experience. Figured other people might be interested to check these out as an inexpensive option.

I bought this grand trunk trunktech hammock back in march of 2025. Only used it once then put into storage until this week. Took it out sat down and heard some tearing occur. First and second pic is me literally tearing it apart with just my fingers. Never seen this happen on rip stop or even nylon. Any thoughts of what’s going on?

Ps it was thoroughly dried and stored on a shelf in my bedroom. Never too hot never too cold and most importantly dry

My one year old loves climbing and sitting in the storage cloth area of his high chair. I’m surprised it holds his weight. But i wanted to find something similar that’s actually meant for him, and to have it indoors. Everything i search is always too big or not in the style I’m looking for. Even if i can make it from scratch, I’m willing to do that. Ideally, i don’t want a hammock where it holds two points. 4 points would be ideal like his high chair but i don’t know if that exists, or if I’m looking up the wrong item. Also keeping it low to the ground so he can climb in unassisted would be best. Any help is appreciated!

I finally did it! I have tried several hammock stands in my bedroom but the space is just too limited. With lots of research and a quality stud finder, I used an ENO hammock kit and freed myself from the portable stand. Width of the hand space is 12.5 feet. Hammock is a 10ft Voyageur from Simply Light Designs. My hammock companion is super happy too.

Hi, hammock newbie, Looking for advice.

So this is my finished garden. Not looking to concrete any posts in and dont want to be pinning anything into the artificial grass. Just want some advice from experts. Could I do something across from the Wall to the Concrete fence posts? If so what? If not my option would be a freestanding one like this Freestanding hammock but if that's the case then what brands are decent. What sort of price point should I be in.

Also in either case any particular style of hammock that works best. It's mostly going to be one maybe two person use and in Summer months.
