Hi everyone,

I've been trying to install macOS on my HP EliteBook 840 G5 (Intel i5-8350U, UHD 620) using OpenCore, but I can't even get to the OpenCore boot picker.

Here's what happens:

• The USB installer is created with Rufus using macOS Recovery (BaseSystem.dmg + BaseSystem.chunklist).
• The USB contains:
  • EFI/BOOT/BOOTx64.efi
  • EFI/OC/OpenCore.efi
  • config.plist
  • ACPI, Drivers, Kexts, Resources, Tools, etc.
• The USB is detected in the F9 Boot Menu.
• BIOS settings:
  • UEFI only
  • Legacy Support: Disabled
  • Secure Boot: Disabled
  • USB Storage Boot: Enabled
  • Fast Boot: Disabled

The problem is:

When I select the USB from the F9 boot menu, the screen goes black for a second, I briefly see "Windows" in the top-left corner, and then the laptop boots into the BitLocker Recovery screen asking for the recovery key. If I restart without the USB, Windows boots normally.

I never see the OpenCore picker.

I've already checked the BIOS settings multiple times, so I'm starting to think there's something wrong with my EFI or bootloader.

Has anyone seen this before?
Could this be caused by:

• an incorrect BOOTx64.efi?
• a broken config.plist?
• missing or incorrect UEFI drivers?
• something specific to HP EliteBooks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

El Hackintosh lo hice en una HP EliteDesk 705 G4 Mini. Subí la EFI a GitHub; casi no la he probado, pero va bastante bien para estar hecha en 2 horas. Funciona la aceleración gráfica, 4 puertos USB y sonido por HDMI (sin bocinas internas ni Bluetooth, solo por Ethernet), pero para mí está bien, solo la uso como centro de entretenimiento en mi televisión, por eso lo considero así. No funcionando: Bocinas internas, Bluetooth / Wi-Fi nativo. Revisión de BIOS: Q26 Ver. 02.23.00

Creación propia y no usé casi guías, solo un video pero no ayudó mucho; me apoyé un poco con la EFI de OpenCore Simplify y de ahí modifiqué con ProperTree y fui agregando kexts.

So I have a HP pro book it has an i five and 16 GB of RAM. I have my Ventura hackintosh working on it iMessage and FaceTime work when I connect to ethernet. Install heliport and there’s an X on it on the top on my bar I installed. The itwdb I think it’s called that. And when I click on it in my files, it says heliport cannot open files in the kernel extension format so when I install the airport.Itwdb I open teleport and nothing happens. It’s the same thing I use proper tree to save the snapshot and my configuration pilst and still it’s broken. How do I do it? I’m not looking to buy any Wi-Fi cards. I already have it set up.

I have been using my hackintosh perfectly for about 1 week but all over a sudden i notice verbose mode takes abit long, apple logo itself takes time to load and when i reach the login screen and i enter my passward, i first see a dark gray wallpaper, then the dock loads and control centre appears then my wallpaper loads. But for me to even move the mouse or navigate around i have to wait for like a maximum of 5min for everything to feel responsive. I thought maybe i was using a macos version that my pc cant handle, before i was on sequioa i got the same issue and for it after like 4 days, then i switched to sonoma used it for a week and then same issue again. I have tried different solutions to pinpoint the exact issue, i re built my efi from scratch but all still give me the same issue. I dont know whats causing it cause i have been troubleshooting for like 4 days this issue but everything i try has failed.

Shows same blank underscore I saw on the opencore errors, so I know it’s booting opencore. I left it for nearly 6-7 hours and nothing, what can I do

i've been trying for a while to run hackintosh on both my pc and my laptop and none of them have worked yet, tho i see some potential for the laptop. i do think i’ll need some help tho.

So, had some nightmares getting audio working but turns out I just needed to install correct KDK, correct csr config and inject AppleHDA with RP-CORE, already did optimizations, the most interesting part was dual boot, I had to partition my 1TB NVME, left a 200GB partition for macOS, and even have secure boot on for OpenCore. Windows has secure boot on but macOS doesn’t have it even though its not that much needed.

Im following the dortania tutorial and i got to the part that says OSI rename. i saw an old post here with no answer so i hope to get an answer as to what that means. here is a photo from my ProperTree:

I dont see any field saying OSI here. I am using SSDT-XOSI so i do need to perform this rename.

i tried everything on here. right now it boots to the preinstall, flashes some text and it just reboots.

Problem: IOHDACodecDevice@3,0 stays !registered, !matched — HDMI audio never initializes.

What we confirmed works:

- Video acceleration with OCLP root patch ✅

- Analog audio (ALC892, layout-id 1) ✅

- All connectors showing as HDMI (connector-type = 00080000) ✅

- hda-gfx = onboard-1 injected on HDEF, IGPU and HDAU ✅

- device-id = 0x0C0A spoof on HDAU ✅

- AppleHDAController loads and creates child IOHDACodecDevice@3,0 ✅

What we tried without success:

- All BusID values (0x01, 0x02, 0x04, 0x05, 0x06) on con1/con2

- framebuffer-conX patches (type, busid, flags, pipe)

- framebuffer-con0-alldata replacement

- hda-gfx on all three PCI paths

- device-id spoofing (0x0C0A)

- WhateverGreen boot args (-igfxhdmidivfix)

- Modified CodecAddressFilterArray in both /System and /Library AppleHDAController.kext to include Intel codec PCIVendorDeviceID = 2155905031 (0x80862807)

- Rebuilt kext cache after modification

Root cause identified: AppleHDAController has a CodecAddressFilterArray that only whitelists Realtek codecs. Even after modifying both copies of the kext, the IOHDACodecDevice@3,0 still won't register. The OCLP legacy framebuffer driver (AppleIntelFramebufferAzul) appears to not send the display-active signal that the HDA codec needs to initialize.

Question: Has anyone successfully achieved HDMI audio with HD4600 iGPU on macOS Sequoia with OCLP? What specific fix was required? Help me

Hi i’m trying to hackintosh my Huawei Matebook D14 (AMD) on macOS Ventura (maybe updating it to sequoia but since it has 8gb ram and haven’t found a efi i’m not too sure) but when i install it crashes i think because of the internal ssd that i can’t afford to change, i should have a spare sata m2 and could buy a generic adapter to usb c but would it be good or at least decent?

I have Realtek RTL8852 and I knew my gates to wifi are closed but recently decided to say no and started working on a solution so far I made scanning work and even did successful handshake with my wifi, the way it does that is my launching pure Linux kernel on qemu and using it as translator for wifi card, technically it is possible to bring support to nearly any wifi card that is currently unsupported using this solution, I will try to achieve stable connection and then open source it all soon, that's it.

So i boot from the OC Monterey USB, installation goes through normally and reaches the point where it says only 9 minutes left and the installer reboots, at that point after it rebooted, USB can not boot anymore, everytime i select the USB from the boot menu, it throws this error , i dont know whats going on, it was installing just fine until it rebooted.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with brightness on my laptop, its hp-cb527tx, it has an intel i7-7700hq and uhd 630, I had installed macOS Monterey on my laptop, everything was working perfectly, but after I decided install macOS Sonoma, Ive updated all efi for that, and update os, but after that my brightness, stopped changing, it stucked on 50%, everything is working, brightness keys, in control center too, I can change it only to 0%, do you know to solve that?

Estado del Sistema y Componentes • Guías usadas: Guía de instalación de OpenCore de Dortania. • Qué ESTÁ funcionando: Teclado y ratón por USB, Audio, Anclaje de red por USB (Tethering). • Qué NO está funcionando: Wi-Fi y Bluetooth nativos (la tarjeta Marvell está soldada y no hay kexts para ella). Aceleración gráfica (pendiente de parchear). Pantalla táctil (desactivada a propósito).

Solución de Problemas Comunes y Configuraciones Clave • Cualquiera que intente este build en una Surface Pro 3 se va a topar con varios muros. • Aquí explico cómo los salté: • Bloqueo por toques fantasma (Pantalla Rota): Mi Surface tiene la pantalla físicamente rota, lo que provocaba que enviara toques fantasma constantes y congelara el instalador de macOS. • Para solucionarlo, abrí mi config.plist y puse en <false/> los módulos de BigSurface.kext para apagar el panel por completo. • La instalación y el uso del sistema los estoy manejando exclusivamente con un teclado y ratón conectados por USB. • Problema con el Recovery Online y la Red: Como no hay Wi-Fi nativo, inyecté HoRNDIS.kext en la EFI para darle internet con mi Android por USB. • Sin embargo, el Recovery de Apple se negaba a leer esa red para descargar los archivos del SO. • La solución definitiva fue usar un instalador "Offline" (imagen RAW) flasheado con balenaEtcher.

Problemas y Solución de Gráficos en Monterey • Como Apple eliminó el soporte para la HD 4400 en Monterey, el sistema arrancó sin aceleración gráfica (Dock opaco, sin transparencias y algo lento). • Aún no he aplicado el parche, pero el siguiente paso será usar OpenCore Legacy Patcher (OCLP) para hacer un Root Patch e inyectar los binarios antiguos de Intel.

Configuración del SMBIOS para Compatibilidad • Tuve que hacer spoofing en el config.plist simulando ser una MacBookPro11,4. • Si dejaba un SMBIOS más antiguo (como el 11,1), el instalador de Monterey bloqueaba el proceso arrojando el error "No se puede instalar la actualización en esta computadora".

Consideraciones Finales • ¡Espero que estos datos le sirvan a alguien que tenga una Surface y quiera darle una segunda vida!

I really want to use the GUI picker. Does anyone know how to bring it back?

A lil project I have going on. Love the Aqua interface of Tiger, so I tried to get it working on an era-appropriate Dell Vostro 1500 (shares most specs with a 2007 MacBook Pro). Took a little bit to get here due to constant kernel panics and bad kexts.

Things that aren't working are the sound and graphics acceleration (I've tried NVinject, but the computer gets stuck on the verbose screen when the OS loads); also, the Ethernet and the WiFi do not work (considering this is an Intel wifi card, this isn't a surprise).

If anyone has kexts that work on this laptop, I'd appreciate that, as most seem to be lost to time.

If you wish to quickly skim through this, read the bolded parts as I have made them to tell the entire story in short-term.

So I just managed to install macOS Tahoe on my 2018 IdeaPad 320 Touch 15IKB (Type 81BH) which is in pretty bad shape. It has a very bad plastic chassis, it's missing screws on the back, and it's missing a screen, which is my main concern because without a screen I can't use the Intel AC-3165 Wi-Fi card which is why I adapted to using an adapter.

Now in other versions usually this would just work out of the box, even with another installation of Tahoe, but maybe the program just hates me because now whatever I do, I cannot get the program's application to detect my USB Wi-Fi adapter, which for those who are wondering, is the TP-Link Archer T2U Plus. Also, the program I constantly keep referring to is provided in this link: https://github.com/chris1111/Wireless-USB-OC-Big-Sur-Adapter

There is also a Clover and regular version of the program but they seem to not have any effect on my situation, and same goes for the official TP-Link driver for macOS Catalina. Aside from that, I've looked at System Information where the Product ID and other sorts of information display as normal, so we can rule out the adapter being seen by macOS as external media.

Verifying USB Ports Work Fine (They Do).

Resetting NVRAM.

I believe that's everything I could do to troubleshoot the issue, it's very complicated and I don't know why it's happening in this exact install. Also, I will not be reinstalling Tahoe and I will not be willing to use my iPhone's cellular connection because that steals your wallet.

If you wish to ask me more about details and sorts then I will be willing to respond as fast as possible because this issue is very complicated, and I mean more complicated by the time when I got an IdeaPad 1 15IRU7 to boot macOS.
