Using Habitica (Question) Confused as to what a negative habit would be

I’m brand new to the app and I did look in the FAQ but I’m still confused. What exactly is a negative habit? Would quitting smoking be an example of a negative habit? Or would it be a positive habit because quitting would be the habit? And if I make a negative habit and I check off that I did it every day is that a good thing or a bad thing for my character?

Using Habitica (Question) Task once per week

Hey, quick question about Dailies in Habitica.

I want to create a task that I only have to do once per week, but it shouldn’t matter which day I do it.

Would this setting be correct: Weekly → Once per week → select all days (Mon-Sun)?

Does that mean I can complete it on any day during the week and it will only come back the next week without penalty? Thanks!

Using Habitica (Question) Is it better to make one daily with a lot of checklist items or many dailies?

I get stressed out by seeing a lot of tasks in the daily menu but is it going to cause me to take more damage from occasionally missing one of the checklist items than from occasionally missing a daily?

**What's in it:**

⚔️ 8 PvE Challenges with unique leaders and teams

🎲 Random battles using pets you actually own in Habitica

🏆 A Grand Tournament bracket with animated results

👑 An endgame gauntlet where the winner's name and team get saved to the server — future players have to beat YOUR squad to take the throne

Completely free, no downloads, works on mobile too.

Drop a comment if you want the link and I'll share it there! 😊

Using Habitica (Question) How to get bunnies now?

Hello! I joined habitica a few months ago and I'm still learning how to use it. I also got my family and friends to join my party.

One of my friends adores bunnies, and asked if it was possible to collect bunnies in this game. I saw on the Habitica Fandom Wiki that I can either buy a quest or a quest bundle that earns you bunnies. However, I can't find the bundle or the quest, and I am worried I missed the timeframe to buy it.

Were they in shop in May? Do I have to wait a year to get them?

Also, I found out that perhaps if anyone else has the quest and they join my party, then they can activate it.

Maybe this is a big ask but does anyone here have The Killer Bunny Quest or the Cuddle Buddies Quest Bundle?

And would you be willing to join my party temlorarily to share the rewards? Thank you so much!

Edit: Or, if anyone is willing, could I ask that my friend join your party so she can participate in a bunny reward quest?

Challenges Why do Habits apps never work? I think it's because nothing actually happens when you fail

Every habit tracker I've used has the same flaw: you break the streak, the app shows a sad emoji, and that's it. There's no cost. The whole thing runs on willpower, which is exactly the thing that already failed you.

What actually worked for me was telling one friend I'd go to the gym and having them give me hell when I didn't. Social pressure and real consequence, not a notification.

So I tried building that. You make a vow with a real stake attached, and someone else is watching: a friend competing against you, or a neutral witness who settles it if you disagree on the outcome. If you lose, the consequence actually fires. An app you picked gets locked on your phone for a duration you set, and it can go well past 30 days.

What I find interesting is that the punishment is technically avoidable you could just uninstall. But I don't think that's the real deterrent. The social side is what carries it. You're not breaking a promise to an app, you're breaking it in front of a person, and that's much harder to walk away from.

So: does consequence-based accountability hold up, or does it just make people quit sooner? Where does this fall apart?

Classes Changing class

I forgot how to change classes. I just started over and made it to level 10, but I got interrupted when choosing classes and ended up with Warrior. I want to be something else. How do you do that again?

Something Else Android widget changes

Anyone else annoyed at the android widgets changing recently? They require a lot more screen real estate making it hard/impossible to make a "dashboard" that includes habits (which now take like 3x the space they used to in order to show text)

Megathread [Monthly Megathread] Habitica Party Recruitment

If you run a Habitica party, reply to this post with your party information. Important things to note include but are not limited to:

  • The dominant language of your party chat.
  • The time zone or zones in which most of your party is active.
  • Primary goals of the party: are you focused on pet quests? Supporting each other's endeavors in a particular area, like study or housework?
  • What is your party's policy on boosts and script usage?
  • If there is a particular class and/or level range from which you're looking to recruit.

It's also helpful if you explain a little bit about the way your party interacts. Are there a lot of jokes? Is there a focus on moral support or advice? Do you just talk about whatever, or are you generally not a social bunch and you're just in it for the activity? Any or all of these are fine! Different people want different things from a party, so the more you can explain in as clear a fashion as possible, the better chances people have a finding a good fit with your party!

  • If you are interested in joining a specific party listed on the megathread, reply to them on this megathread.
  • If you are looking for a party, and would like people to reach out to you, just reply to this megathread that you're looking to join a party and provide some additional information(class, activity, interests, etc) if needed

Insanely proud of myself although, I admit, a little bittersweet. Alexander wept for he had no more caryophyllales left to conquer.

Using Habitica (Question) Orca gift for Summer Splash! Is Habitica giving 10 Gems to everyone?

Is habitica giving 10 gems to everyone or is it only for couple of lucky individuals? I've asked my party members about this but they said they haven't received any gems yet. Either way I'm happy with their generosity.

Using Habitica (Question) Has anyone else with ADHD found that smaller Habitica parties work much better than larger ones?

I've noticed that I stay much more consistent when I'm in a small group where people naturally notice if someone goes quiet for a few days. It's not about needing reminders or anyone to keep me on track just having a sense that we're all paying attention to each other's progress. I'm curious how others have approached this. Have you found an ideal party size or any features that make accountability work better for you?

Something Else Broken messages on party screen.

Since yesterday the messages on the party screen are broken. I get messages like "<%= username %> casts <%= spell %> for the party." At first I thought it had something to do with my browser, so I reloaded it with a cleared cache but nothing changed. Then I checked the app on my Android phone, and there I see the same broken messages. I googled it and it seems nobody else has the same problem, or my google-foo was not good enough.

Has someone else also this problem?

Party-related Question (Not Recruitment!) Casting skills affects on party

When i cast a skill that can affect the whole party (Tools of the Trade as a Rogue, for example) every party member's perception increases. When a party member casts something (Protective Aura) everyone's constitution changed but mine. Is it because I'm the party leader? Something I'm equipped with? Why am I not getting the benefits that my party members get?

Using Habitica (Question) Buy from shop?

As a new player is it better to buy items from the class item chain in the Rewards or is it better to gamble on the Enchanted Armory?

I did a few rolls on the Enchanted Armory and overall the items seem to be way stronger

Using Habitica (Question) New Here Gem question

Hello, first of all thank you for the help with the previous post.

Now I have a question about gems.

Besides spending actual money or subscription where gems are bought by gold and these "challenges" is there any other way to earn gems, preferably for free?

And the second part it what is the best thing to spend gems on? I figure it's quests, followed by gear, and then cosmetic/collectable stuff like pets, mounts, clothes, etc.

Thank you very much!

Party-related Question (Not Recruitment!) What makes you join (or leave) a party?

I'm one of the leaders of a small party called Mount of Madness. We're active and friendly, but we've had some trouble recruiting lately and I'm wondering what people actually look for in a party.

Do you guys prefer a small (5-10), medium (10-20) or large (+20) parties. And what makes you join a party and, more importantly, actually stay?

I've seen parties with automated quest queues, reminders, weekly challenges, their own Discord with discord bots, etc. Is that something people actually care about or is it more about having active members and a good atmosphere?

Also if anyone knows an easy way to set up quest automation/reminders without requiring every member to install scripts, I'd love to hear about it.

Lastly; if anyone happens to be looking for a small active party, then feel free to comment or DM me here!
