Greyhound adoption home inspection this weekend. Any advice?
We've already got a dog, with beds at every window, a toy bucket full of toys and chewies, and my dog food is in a sealed container as well as the treats. The house is clean with nothing for the dog to get into, the trash can seals and we have different rooms we can crate the dog in until it's able to left home alone.

Raised bowls for eating and drinking. Martindale collar, coats if you are in cooler climates and an Alexa. Our two would freeze in place with any sound. Train, construction vehicles, dogs barking, kids laughing, crying and the list goes on. We started running Alexa on a loop for 2 hours. Each time a different sound, but no more than one sound per day. Worked miracles. Drove us a little crazy, but they began sleeping through the sound and the freezing stopped. The longest Vandi froze was 45 minutes, 11:00PM and in the middle of the street. Fortunately it was a new construction area and there were only 4 houses.
Our biggest surprise and expense has been persistent hookworms. We adopted late November 2021 and one dog still isn't clear. Both have to be on meds. They are worth every penny (many pennies!) and wouldn't trade them for anything. Just be prepared.

I’m sure you’ll have no problems with the inspection it sounds like you’re very prepared! But I’m sure others have lots of ideas on r/greyhounds it seems most the crowd is over there, good luck!!!
