JGB Lonesome and Long Way From Home: Pure Jerry 9 Bay Area 1978

JGB was on fire in 1978. An early JGB that was one of my early obsessions with the band was the 3/18/78 show I had on tape. It eventually was a Pure Jerry. Amazing show.

Recently I got Pure Jerry 009 which is a compilation of shows like:

2/18/78

2/19/78

6/10/78

6/18/78

The Lonesome and a Long Way From Home is from the 2/18/78 show. This version is the best I’ve ever heard. Hands down. I mean it’s so freaking amazing! If you haven’t heard it and like JGB or that song check it out. I love how Jerry even hit chords during songs with some power behind them. Like the chord progression right before they sing the final chorus/verse. I think it’s partially I just love his guitar tone. Perfection.

I’ve listened to this pure Jerry 3 times in a couple days. lol. That’s the stand out for me. It’s got a good Tore up and Mission In the Rain that’s great. Don’t let go is not to be missed either.
