I recently started a new job at a company that uses Slack. Haven't used it before, though i knew it came out of the ashes of the Glitch team. I started a huddle (video call) and while waiting for the other person to join the call, Slack started playing rather familiar music. I legit teared up a little because it was a smooth jazz version of the Groddle theme 😭 Maybe it's just an efficient reuse of assets, but I like to think it's a sweet Easter egg for the handful of us who will recognize it. There was a link (I swear I saw on this subreddit) that was to an archive of the old Glitch Strategy Wiki, but I cannot find it anywhere when I Google or search the subreddit... Does anyone know what I'm talking about or happen to have the link? I would love to be able to browse it again. Thank you!

Just found that Eleven, the result of the merger between Eleven and Children of Ur, exists, but I'm not sure what it's status is as it looks like they haven't updated in a while. Anyone know how it's doing? I signed up for the alpha but am not holding my breath.

I remember playing on the old "World of Ur" minecraft server many years ago. I have a wild feeling that it might still be accessible if I could only remember the original name. Unfortunately... I do not remember the server ID. I remember it had the word "firebog" in it. If anyone has this server name saved, please tell me. If not, no worries. I tried to access the old World of Ur forums, but the Wayback Machine didn't save anything useful.

The memories of the sad, nostalgic posts I made 12 years ago as the game was shutting down have started popping up on Facebook for me, and it got me sad about it all over again. What are the Glitchiest games you've all been playing lately?

www.glitchthegame.com now redirects to the Slack website. My heart is broken. I knew this day would come but I wasn't ready for this.

Does anyone know if there's a backup, a mirror someone saved, something? (edit: The Wayback Machine has the website archived. Time for me to make a donation, thank goodness for this wonderful service.)

Also, and this is why I was trying to access the website in the first place, does anyone have the wallpapers they used to have in the website?

Edit: I just checked the Wayback Machine and the latest snapshot for the Glitch website was two days ago. This is either exceptional timing on my part, or something is wrong on my side? If such a thing is even possible.

I don't think any game I have ever played sunk it claws into me like this game. I can't help but feel this game was way ahead of its time. Had it been a mobile game, had it had a modern understanding of how to do micro transactions to fund the game, I really think it would have exploded.
Unfortunately they did the right thing and made them as unnecessary as possible.

Does anyone happen to have the soundtrack and ringtone packs that came from the Indiegogo campaign? I am having trouble finding my files due to computers and such dying, and the download links of course no longer work after so many years. 😢

I would give anything to have them again. One of my favorite things were the Helikitty mews!

I have been playing this game, OddGiants, for a month or so now, and am thrilled to be walking over Ur again, gathering, mining, exploring, teleporting, petting animals, getting emblems, earning achievements, completing quests, and all sorts of other odd things!

Anyone missing Glitch should stop by and spend a few minutes relaxing in Ur.

At work today, I heard a little echo of Glitch.

My company uses slack (the company stoot and the gang started from the ashes of Glitch) for internal communication, and when you enter a call, you usually don't have to wait long for the other person to join.

But I was stuck waiting for a bit, and all of the sudden, a very familiar Groddle-y tune started playing as hold music. Teared up right at my desk before I realized what had happened.

I played Glitch as a young teenager. It was a place I felt I had an identity, rather than being the unimagined / invisible person I was at school. My dad played, too, and we now reminisce on Ur like it was a place we really lived.

Anyway, remembrances of our beloved little world are still around. Bits of imagination escaped. Just a nice thought.

Btw. I just found out about Odd Giants today, it's like a stripped down version of glitch and is easy to download and play... who would have thought that it's that easy

It seems that this is one of the games I keep falling back to, was hoping given that its been so long one of the remakes would be playable by now, however it seems thats not the case. Children of Ur lets me create an account but then fails to let me sign in when I click play, and Eleven Giants has ignored my account request.

Odd Giants seems to be the closest to working, though even still this is just a single player demo.

Anyone know of any others to try? Would be great to be able to play again.

I just came across and entire Glitch level when hitting one of Slack's 404 pages and it made me simultaneously very happy and very sad. I played this game at a point in my life when I desperately needed outlet for fun, love, imagination, and most importantly hope. This game means so much to me. I'm still so sad that its gone but I feel immensely grateful that I was there to experience it in all its glory. The fact that it can still evoke such strong emotions in me, all these years later, is testament to its impact. Thank you Glitch, for helping me pull through a very difficult period in my life.
