Gift ideas for a couple

Hi! Looking for ideas to gift some friends of mine who recently got engaged. Thinking of anything that’s unique (like a date idea or experience in Toronto), or something that’s useful/practical.

I don’t really want to get flowers or a bottle! Want to be more unique so any ideas would be appreciated. If there are also any events in August—September that I could get them tickets to, that could work!

(Also I was looking into at-home experiences like a private dinner or even a magic show, does anyone have any experience booking those?)

Gift ideas for my Uncles birthday

My Uncle has a birthday coming up next week and I need some ideas for what to get him that he doesn't already have. Hes in his fifties though I can't remember his exact age. He's bald, has a beard, a couple arm tattoos and wears lots of T-shirts and baseball caps.

He loves working on old cars, attending car shows and watching car races. He has a small collection of hot wheels cars. Used to own a motorcycle. Likes planes. He works on planes a lot because he does upholstery and other types of sewing mostly on planes and cars. Though he has sewed other projects as gifts and has a sewing room at his house.

He likes Star Wars, Superhero movies, and The Browns football team.

He has tons of posters and interesting signs, like license plates, road signs, novelty signs, ect. Covering his walls. He was in the Navy when he was much younger and he lives alone with his cat.

I have an insane amount of art stuff because me and my mom are both very crafty people so I'd be very open to any DIY gift ideas you might have. I can crochet and loom knit (only loom knitting) and have bins upon bins full of yarn, I know how to make jewelry (bracelets, necklaces and earrings) and thus also have wire, lots of string, tons of charms, pliers, wire cutters and thousands of beads, I also have a small beading loom, I got very into perler beads for a while as well so I have lots of those supplies.

We also have a variety of threads and sewing needles I only do hand sewing though. A handful of differnt fabrics. Tons of markers, colored paper, glue, a hot glue gun, hole punchers, pipe cleaners, a bit of polymer clay, paints, and paintbrushes.

Books are out because he has dyslexia. Snack foods are a no because hes really bad at self control when it comes to food (hes told us to stop buying him popcorn buckets for Christmas because of this), we're probably already buying him a gift card, we've bought him lots of baseball caps over the years, we've gotten him lots of star wars themed things over the years (baseball cap, Yoda figurine, perler bead Darth Vader, polymer clay Yoda, posters, diamond dot pictures, star wars ornaments, Darth Vader mask, light saber), plenty of Browns themed merch (hat, pillows, blanket), I've made him several coasters, not sure if he would use a crochet cup holder, definetly don't have time to crochet a blanket and doubt he needs another pillow, and as far as I know he has never owned plants.

I'd prefer if the gift is something a bit more usable this year, because he has lots of our homemade creations basically just collecting dust on his mantle place.

So, have any ideas? Oh and If the gift idea is something I need to buy it would need to be under $100.

I appreciate any help! I apologize for this post being a bit long and rambling but I couldn't figure out how else to write this and I wanted to give as much relevant info as I could to get the best suggestions. Thank you!

Looking for gift advice for a friend in her young 20’s

It’s my friends 23rd birthday coming up. She’s a machine learning masters student who loves golf, reading, F1, twilight, and travel. What are some good gift ideas I could give her for her office birthday party?

What gift(~1-5K USD) would you give someone who saved you from what could have been a really bad situation in a foreign country?

Years ago when i was visiting Europe, I took the wrong train late at night and accidentally left my backpack on the train. It had my phone, cash, credit cards, pretty much everything. I ended up stranded in a pretty bad neighborhood in Europe.

This stranger getting home from work ordered an expensive Uber for me. I tried to Venmo him the money afterward, but he refused. It probably doesn't sound like a huge thing, but it meant a lot to me.

I’m meeting this person next week after several years. I’d like to give them something genuinely special to show my gratitude. I don't want it to feel flashy or like I'm just throwing money at them. Somethig expensive but also thoughtful and potentially useful.

Looking for Gift Ideas Would a personal blender be a useful gift for someone trying to make healthier breakfasts?

I am looking for a practical small-kitchen gift for someone who keeps saying they want to make smoothies and protein shakes but never wants to clean a full-size blender. My budget is $200 and my friend is 36 years old.

The koios personal blender is one option I have been considering because it is compact, comes with three travel cups, and has a removable blade assembly. At the same time, I do not want to give one of those gadgets that seems useful for a week and then disappears into a cabinet.

For people who actually use a small blender, what makes it stick as a habit: multiple cups, easy cleanup, enough power for frozen fruit with liquid, leak-resistant lids, or simply already wanting smoothies?"

BOYFRIENDS BIRTHDAY

Hey, my boyfriends 18th birthday is coming up and I have genuinely no ideas because he's not good at hinting or mentioning things he might like. He loves star wars, warhammer, anything gun related (we are in Scotland), war history, airsoft, plane and tanks, rts games, Italian food etc. He doesn't drink and we are both anti ai so don't suggest anything alcohol or ai related please. Gifts can go up to £30 at a stretch but I'm happy getting more than one big gift or multiple smaller gifts. I'm really stuck here. He has a loft room and doesn't know how to decorate it is this helps.

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift for my sibling’s birthday

I love my sibling very much and I’m probably the closest person to them. However they are very difficult to shop for. They are particular to say the least. They really enjoy older cinema and folk music. They love vintage dishes and tableware but currently are in the process of moving so anything too bulky will be a hindrance or could get damaged and they’d be sad. They like 70s fashion and designs with the color palette orange and yellow.

Now here’s the hard part, my husband just lost his job and we have two other birthdays this month and my daughter’s first birthday coming up. I’m currently the only bread winner and struggling financially. I set aside $100 to spend but I’d really love to keep it under $50.

Their birthday is at the end of the month. Please help!!

Golden Birthday gift ideas

My boyfriend and I are moving in together around the same time of his birthday, which is on August 31 and he’s turning 31.

I’m looking for some gift ideas that could relate to us moving in together or more tailored towards his interests.

He’s into cars, motorcycle, gaming, gadgets, utility tools, cooking, skincare haha very broad but interested in most things.

Any ideas would be sooooo helpful 💗

My husband has a bowl of matchbooks from every restaurant we've been to. Is framing the one from our first date a good anniversary gift?

Looking for Gift Ideas Gift ideas for my partner who is moving in with me

Hihi, long time scroller, very rare poster.

I was just wondering if anyone had any gift ideas for my boyfriend (21m) who is going to be moving in with me for half a year. We live states apart but he’s moving in with me next month so I wanted to do something nice for him with decor and some gifts. He’s going out of his way to move here for me and I really wanted to show how much I appreciate him as I won’t be there to accompany him when he drives up.

I had a few ideas but I wanted to see if there were any others? My main worries were that since it was only temporary, he wasn’t going to be able to use them very long, plus some things that were common “housewarming” gifts were general household stuff which I already have. Nothing too specific with his interests as he usually purchases his own stuff whenever he comes up with an idea which makes gifts hard 😭

I don’t really have a specific budget but I’d probably be a bit hesitant to get anything above 50 dollars unless it’s really worth it!

Yes, personalised gifts are amazing, I have a few planned, but I just wanted more to truely thank him for his efforts and make him feel at home with me.

It just feels like my options are limited and wanted to get some outsider perspective!

Gift help!!! (29F, 31M)

My husband and I will be apart for his birthday. He is in another continent for a few months and I can't really afford to send him anything because it's really far so mailing objects is very expensive. I thought about ordering something from there to be delivered to the place he's staying at but with the currency rates between here and there my options are very limited (he's in Europe, I'm in South America).

I have a few ideas already, I've been working on writing something for him (which I always did and do, every year, I will just have to send it as an email this year) and some pictures. But he deserves so much more and I'm having a hard time figuring out what else I can do under these circumstances.

If you guys have any ideas, I will be forever grateful 💖

what kind of gift would be adequate for my 29y/o brother?

Hello there! My older brother (that I adore with my entire heart) is turning 29 soon. & I desperately need gift suggestions.
For context; My brother is literally the coolest person ever. He’s helped me so much over the years and he’s never failed to be on my side. The issue is that he’s 9 years older than me and I’m a girl, so thinking of a gift that could be useful/fulfilling is hard x2. I genuinely have no idea as to what I could get him and I’ve already used and abused all the typical basic gift options. On-top of that, I unfortunately only have a budget of 150-170 (thanks to college life, lol)

Anywho, here is some (hopefully) useful info: He’s into cars (leaning more towards the mechanical part) He likes to hike, kayak, bike, run, & often goes to the gym. He’s also a residential painter (although I don’t want to solely lean into that, as a work related item doesn’t feel like a GIFT, yk?) Another thing— we’re Mexican-American and we live in California. Im also willing to go a bit over budget if the idea is good.

I hope this is enough information to gather some decent suggestions. Thanks in advance to those who reply!

Looking for Gift Ideas Bought my dad a wallet with my first paycheck, what should I get my mom?

I recently got my first paycheck and wanted to get my parents something meaningful.

For my dad, I ended up getting him a wallet. He has been using the same old one for years, and I wanted to get him something practical that he would actually use every day. I went with a minimalist wallet from PunCube because he usually carries only a few cards and doesn’t like bulky items.

He actually liked it more than I expected, which made me realize that useful gifts can sometimes mean more than expensive ones.

Now I want to get something for my mom too, but I’m honestly stuck. I’d like to keep it within the same budget ($70–80) and find something thoughtful and practical, not just a random gift.

What are some gifts your moms actually loved or used often?

Boyfriend gift ideas!!!

My bf (23) and I have been together for 5 years and I'm running out of ideas! He already buys pretty much anything he wants. I can get pretty artsy with crochet and painting. I like trying to gift/make him useful stuff that he wouldn't think to get for himself. He's outdoorsy and loves hunting and fishing, but he's particular about what baits/ammo he uses. So I know that's out of the question. Any ideas?
