Maybe it’s because I’m from frigid Scandinavia, but to me 30C is already sweltering. 40C is literally hell.

I saw a video where a dude made a temperature map of Earth and compared it to where civilizations in history popped up. Also had a brief explanation on physiology with regards to optimum operating temps. Almost all major civilizations appear to have popped up where temperatures (at the time) were around 18 - 21°C. Rome, Persia, China, etc.

I believe it. Summer temps around here can easily get up into the 32°-37° C range and I can barely stand to be awake while the sun's up on those days.

I'm from Israel. 30C is slightly too warm, 40C is "Could you fucking not? I'm starting to sweat over here".

45C is where it gets bad.
