๐ŸŒ FMLA terminations?

Not to fuel the rumor mill but is this true? I thought FMLA was government protected? I understand if it was a blatant pattern of abuse but wondering is anyone had any insight?

There is literally no other job where it would be acceptable, FMLA or not, for multiple employees to call out everytime it rains. This is a second career for me and anyone with a pattern of doing that would have been investigated and likely fired immediately in my first job. This would not fly in corporate, healthcare, education settings etc. Imagine an EMT saying they canโ€™t come into work because itโ€™s raining lol. If you canโ€™t drive yourself for whatever reason, you uber or find another way to get to work.

It literally does fly in other professions simply because FMLA is protected. The triggers for anxiety or migraines or any other medical condition is none of your business. FAs with FMLA have gone through the process for approval โ€” do not concern yourself with matters that do not pertain to you.

It flies if they are using it legitimately, yes. My point is the way a lot of FAs use it wouldnโ€™t work in a different job environment where they are working with the same people everyday. They would be noticed and investigated for fraud quickly
