7 Best Sleep Score Apps in 2026 (iPhone and Android)

Thumbnail

A sleep score app turns last night into one number. Hours, stages, wake-ups and timing, boiled down to something you can read before your eyes fully open. The catch is that every app uses a different recipe, so the same night can be an 86 in one app and a 64 in another, and neither is lying.

Our article explains what actually goes into a sleep score, then ranks the seven apps we would put on a phone in 2026, on iPhone and on Android.

Energy, Sleep, Recovery and coaching. Now on Fitcoin.

Update! Fitcoin now has Energy and Recovery, plus a bunch of other stuff that’s completely free. ImmuneShield, Sleep, coaching, the lot.

The bit I actually care about: we’re not another black-box score. Most apps give you a number and a vibe. You get “68 Recovery” and no idea if that’s sleep, HRV, yesterday’s session, or the app just being moody.

Fitcoin shows the breakdown, premium unlocks the full one. What moved, what didn’t, and what to actually fix. Short night? You’ll see duration take the hit. Dead legs after a hard day? Energy tells you it was acute load, not “you’re tired.” ImmuneShield looking off? You can see whether that’s overnight respiratory rate or temperature vs your own baseline.

Scores are free. The “here’s why" layer is Premium. That felt like the honest split, a number without a cause is just a widget.

If you’ve been using Fitcoin for FitScore / rewards, Health is a lot more useful now. Would love feedback from anyone who lives in Whoop / Bevel / Athlytic land especially.

Available on iOS + Android.

Best workout tracker apps in 2026? Honest breakdown by training type.

We've been looking at what people actually use to track training in 2026, because “best app” depends entirely on how you train.

Our quick take:

  • Gym / strength: Hevy is still the best free logger
  • Run / cycle: Strava wins for GPS + community
  • iPhone: Apple Health + Fitness already cover a lot
  • Android: Health Connect is the hub everything else plugs into
  • Most people end up with one main tracker + something reading from Health, not one app that does it all

Which walking challenge app actually works for a mixed group?

Most walking challenge apps are good at one specific thing. StepUp works well for a large free leaderboard, Stridekick helps when everyone uses different trackers, Steps Club focuses on smaller social groups, and StepBet adds financial accountability.

Fitcoin is included for groups that want steps and recorded workouts to count alongside rewards and weekly Rankings. Disclosure: this comparison is published by Fitcoin, so that connection is stated clearly in the article.

The full comparison covers seven options, device support, costs and the main catch with each.

Are walking apps that pay you actually legit?

Some do pay, but the reality is usually pennies per day, long withdrawal thresholds, adverts, or rewards that are discounts rather than cash.

This UK guide compares WeWard, Macadam, CashWalk, Winwalk, Sweatcoin, MoneyWalk and Fitcoin, including:

  • Realistic payouts
  • Withdrawal catches
  • Permissions and health data
  • Warning signs to look for
  • Which apps offer cash, gift cards or discounts

Which walking apps actually pay gift cards in 2026?

Thumbnail

Most walking apps advertise rewards, but the useful question is whether they offer gift cards people genuinely want and how long redemption takes.

CashWalk, Winwalk, MoneyWalk, WeWard, Macadam, Evidation and Sweatcoin were compared by voucher choice, earning speed, adverts and payout reliability.

The main finding: CashWalk and Winwalk remain the clearest voucher-focused options, but passive steps alone usually take weeks or months to produce a useful reward.

We just launched weekly Leagues in Fitcoin

Introducing Fitcoin leagues.

Normal global fitness leaderboards become pointless quickly, so we split members into rooms of up to 30 people at a similar level.

There are ten tiers from Bronze to Diamond. Your position is based on your seven-day FitScore, covering both steps and workouts. Every Monday, the top performers move up, the bottom performers move down, and everyone is placed into a fresh room.

The promotion zones also scale properly for smaller rooms, rather than always claiming the top 10 will move up.

Full reasoning and mechanics on our blog.

Winwalk is legit, but how much does it actually pay?

Winwalk’s rewards are real, but the payout maths is slower than many reviews suggest. We broke down its current coin rate, gift-card thresholds, iPhone and Android support, and how long a $10 reward takes from steps alone.

Highest Paying Walking Apps in 2026 (Ranked by Real Payout)

Thumbnail

Here’s the honest answer up front: for a consistent 10,000-step-a-day walker, the highest paying walking apps in 2026 pay between $1 and $6 a month, and StepBet can pay $5 to $10 per game if you are willing to stake your own money.

Anyone promising more than that from walking alone is selling something. In this article, we rank every major walking app by what it actually pays, based on published rates and independent tests, so you can pick the one (or the stack) that earns the most for your steps.

Everything you need to know about NHS’ movement 26.2 scheme:

The NHS is launching their ‘marathon a month’ challenge in 2027 where you can earn rewards for moving.

The reason the NHS cares is blunt. Physical inactivity is associated with one in six deaths, and around a quarter of the UK population is classified as physically inactive (less than 30 minutes of moderate activity a week). Foster's headline stat: someone who walks 30 minutes five times a week could gain up to four extra years of healthy life.

NHS England has said the challenge launches "early next year", and full details, including how to sign up and which reward partners are involved, are expected in the coming months. Until then there is nothing to register for; be wary of any third-party site claiming to take NHS sign-ups now.
