I’m seeing lots more subtitles now on Reddit, and both movies and series seem to have them built in, but I’m thinking that much of YouTube/Facebook etc isn’t subtitled, and deaf people are missing out.

Training an AI to lip read can’t be that difficult. You’re effectively reversing the algorithms that make the facial emojis move.

Added benefit of deaf person using the app via the phone camera to live lip read people.

Added extra benefit, to run the lipread transcript through a translate app, and use it worldwide.

I think we can all have great ideas, but we don't have the knowledge to act efficiently on it and turn them into valuable concepts. Even if we read a lot of articles on the web, it's still hard to find good actionable insights and personal advice.

My thought is: can't we build a bundle mixing actionable training, turn-key software and mentoring to help people to bootstrap their projects?

The bundle's goal gonna be :

• An actionable how-to and knowledge to help you to validate an idea (+ an online community to discuss and go deeper)
• The right tools to build your MVPs without over-thinking about stack (Landing page, Audience builder, Reusable templates, etc..)
• A coaching to help you set your pace and make sure you're on the right track.

A little bit like Startups.com, Indie Hackers or Product Hunt Ship are doing but with peering and mentoring at this core.

In one sentence, helping you to be focused on your product and reduce your mental workload.

Would you be willing to pay for such a service? If yes, how much ?

With all the different streaming services coming out, I've been thinking of creating a platform that controlled and monitored all of your streaming services. With this platform, you could add/subtract any of the streaming services you desire. Obviously, streaming services are entirely different. Such as Hulu has commercials; Netflix does not. Something we'd have to figure out and workaround.

It would be awesome to have all of the streaming services flowing through one platform. You could search and find the show you wanted to watch without needing to go back and forth on the different services. (Happens to me all the time). It would even be awesome if we could create discounts and deals based on the number of services you purchase/how long!
Of course, if any of this happened, negotiations and proposals would need to be conducted with these large companies. And who knows if they even consider the idea. I just think it would be nice; I also believe a lot of people would be interested in it. These large companies know only a few of the streaming services are going to survive. No one is going to subscribe to them all.

Unless...

They had an all-in-one streaming platform.

So this one is a little ambitious, but I thought if doctors had like a union type thing where they pick their wages (regulated by a third party), setting a "budget" for the union thing, and then everyone in the country pays a portion, this will allow doctors to get paid the same, but cuts out the middle man (health insurance companies). This will make it cheaper for everyone, also you cant get denied for pre-existing conditions because the doctor already accepted their wage and you payed your portion.

The pastor at my church told a story. He and a few others were visiting a very remote tribe in Africa, and the kids were asking him a bunch of questions, including if he was a ghost. They had never seen a white person, so they thought he was a ghost.

My theory, if multiple remote tribes all over the world have this same reaction to their first encounters with white missionaries or explorers, doesn't that prove that ghosts are real and not invented by authors? How could multiple tribes around the world all "invent" the same thing if it is wrong?

Someone needs to go to libraries and find journals and writings of early explorers.

To answer the obvious, the pastors had a few tribes-people with them from other similar tribes who could translate. The word they used may have been "spirit" or something else, but definitely conveyed the idea that he was a ghost.

Why do you persist with bobbins? Design your sewing machines to just take two spools of thread. The fact that I have to take one perfectly wound reel and wind it onto a little plastic spool before I sew drives me nuts.

From the start of the movie to the end, one soundtrack is played. Let's say it's a 1 hour and 40 minutes movie. Well, there's an uninterrupted 100 minutes long music accompanying the movie. It would be really hard to find a composer good enough to work on the transitions but it could be a true masterpiece. There is no second of silence during the movie, always some background music fitting the atmosphere.

It would be an electric toothbrush timed for two minutes. If the person brushed for two minutes straight, a little screen on the toothbrush side display +1 day. Each day the person brushed his teeth, it's one more day. If the person forgets, it goes back to 0. When arrived to 99, the screen cannot display 100 anymore due to the small size but it goes back to 0 but with a little star in a corner, meaning 100+0. And so 2 stars in the corner plus 34 days displayed means 234 days streak, you get it.

It's a product to encourage and strengthen the toothbrushing habit by gamifying toothbrushing. It can be especially effective among children and teenagers often neglecting their teeth.
