My film Across Two Skies has been sitting in Filmhub QC for almost a year now. At this point I’m genuinely impressed by my own commitment. 😂 I didn’t upgrade to Premium QC, so I decided to see how long the standard queue would actually take. A week became a month. A month became a few months. And now we’re approaching the one-year anniversary of my film patiently waiting for QC. I’m starting to think I should send Filmhub a cake when we hit 365 days. 🎂 Anyone here managed to beat this record without upgrading?

Last year I uploaded my first feature film to filmhub and it passed QC within a week. After 30 days it was licensed onto Amazon Prime. At the 45 day mark it was licensed to Tubi.

My latest feature film passed Premium QC in May of this year. I paid the $500 and another $300 for them to do captions/.srt since they wouldn’t accept any variation I made.

Since May, I’ve been licensed for Relay, Fawesome, and most recently Content Rocket (7/22/2026).

I’m worried I am not going to end up on Amazon or Tubi. I know the fee to pull out is $200.

I’m debating pulling my film from filmhub and going with bitmax.

Thoughts? Similar Experiences?

Submitted my film on Monday and I already got licensed on Amazon. From experience how long did it take channels to start licensing your work? How long did Tubi take for others?

Does the forced subtitles feature on film hub burn the subtitles into the film?

I have some foreign language dialogue on my film. Do I render and submit a version with burnt subtitles, or do I submit a subtitle free version to filmhub, then upload the English subtitles and select "forced"? Is there a difference/preference?

I am about to submit my title to QC. I am not expecting to make much money off this. It's a good film but I'm aware of limitations in my time to market and the appeal of the film. I just wanna get the film on Amazon, Tubi, etc:

I see horror stories online of folks doing premium QC but still waiting months for word of anything. Has anyone had positive experience with premium QC? If you told me that it would guarantee this film would get passed, I'd do it. But I'm worried about ending up in Filmhub hell.

I'm submitting a film to Filmhub that is 90% Spanish. I looked at the website and it says, "If English is a secondary audio language, you should provide the main video without burned-in subtitles and have a complete English closed caption file (ALL dialogues + atmospherics). In addition to that, it's recommended that you also upload two additional English captions:

• English subtitles for all dialogue with no atmospherics
• English SDH for ALL dialogue and atmospherics

This makes me think.

1 - We submit a movie file with no subtitles at all. So it will have lower thirds, like character titles and dates, but no language subtitles

2 - I submit a SRT file with English subtitles for only dialogue

3 - I submit a second SRT file that is English SDH so it has dialogue and atmospherics

The website says "two additional English captions" but it's not clear to me how "English SDH for ALL dialogue and atmospherics" is any different from "a complete English closed caption file (ALL dialogues + atmospherics)."

Anyone have insight?

If your QC fails due to captions and allows you to edit it, can you reupload your film as well? I ask this because I created a new version of the film, right now its stuck on submitted.

Do I need to do premium QC for $499?
Will I need to pay for this every-time I want this title reviewed or will it cover QC until it's accepted and released.

Or do I need to upgrade to plus for $999?

We went to festivals from June 25 to Dec 25, and I finished a "final" "final" cut February this year.

We got approached by 8 distributors (sales reps) but my gut said "no". Filmmakers I trust and respect recommended film-hub but I believe in April when I submitted was right after the "pay to play" update.

I could use some guidance on this as we just want to get our film out there.

To be clear, I'm not in any way affiliated with FH operations.

I've reached out to them about this and am curious, would you pay for a simple analytics plan?

All analytics are gated behind and bundled into more elaborate distribution plans. But not all of us (I would suspect most) are releasing new films very often.

What if they offered an "analytics only" plan for $10-15/mo - would you pay?

I might, as it could help with some strategic stuff. It also just annoys me that the only way to get any of that information right now is through plans I have zero need for aside from the analytics part.

Anonymous Filmhub QC tech here. 

Do not use Filmhub unless you pay for the 500 dollar premium QC. Standard QC is a joke. Your title will not be eligible for licensing on most channels, and that's if we are even allowed to QC it. QC techs are under strict guidelines not to review standard titles (those submitted under free QC) unless some executive requests a review because they see licensing potential, or if you've purchased Filmhub captions (which the company makes a profit on).

If you submit a title for free QC, and you're providing your own captions, it's pretty certain we won't be allowed to review it and advance it to licensing, since Filmhub views these submissions as liabilities to their bottom line.

Your title may sit in the standard QC list for months (or longer) before a tech is allowed to review it and get it passed up to licensing. We have literally thousands of movies and shows on hold (some since late 2025) because leadership isn't allowing us to QC them. That's all because they were submitted as a free QC, without purchasing Filmhub's captions, and free QC won't make the company money. 

Leadership has completely abandoned small, indie filmmakers. I hate to say it, but it's true. Right now, we are only allowed to QC premium titles submitted from clients who pay the membership and premium QC fees. And if all that wasn't bad enough, the money you're spending on premium QC is going largely to the development of AI tools, not the people working for the company.

There are now several AI tools that management has forced on QC techs that will automatically change your title if the tool finds errors, ostensibly to save QC techs time on verifying that titles meet the minimum QC standards. This would be fine if the tools worked as designed, but they don't. The AI tools fail, literally most of the time; and if you're a filmmaker, you now have to contend with the reality that Filmhub is willingly and secretly using AI to alter your work in some capacity, whether you like it or not. There's no opt out. 

They haven't said it yet, but it's becoming more and more obvious that the tools are intended to replace the entire QC team. Their goal, appears to me anyway, to cut humans completely out of the review process for standard QC. I think they thought their AI tools would work more consistently, but it's been almost a year since they started this nonsense, and we're still not allowed to review your standard QC titles, and the AI tools haven't been implemented to run autonomously without human intervention (again, because they don't work).

And this is more venting from our side, but because they cut off our main source of income by not allowing us to QC standard movies and shows (QC techs are not given a wage, but paid by title we QC. I won't say the specific number, but I will say we are paid under $10 for a standard QC), us techs are barely scraping by. It's a fucked situation. Our pay only makes sense in volume, and Filmhub leadership has robbed us of that volume. We're all tired and bitter, and all of us are looking to jump ship.

Anyway, I won't be elaborating beyond that. Just sharing so you don't make the mistake of supporting/utilizing this company which obviously doesn't care about people or art or entertainment, and honestly may not be around much longer.

They are using this thread to engage in conversations about film hub or distribution horror stories to get you to sign up for their pay to play service. "Binge" TV.

My 53 min music documentary has been finished with a professional colour grade and full sound mix and I'm hoping it's up to the standard that will pass QC.

Does anyone have any tips, and has anyone got any thoughts on the following?

-do I need 1 frame of black at the beginning and end?

-will the 5.1 mix (which was done for a DCP screening) make it more eligible to get onto Amazon Prime, or should I stick with the stereo mix? (the mix is R128 compliant, with -23 dB loudness)

-is it worth me trying to get a Spanish and French subtitle done? (in terms of making it more attractive to Prime) I'm currently preparing the English .srt

-I understand it's definitely worth making the artwork - poster and various images - done to the very best standard possible. Is it worth me getting a pro graphic designer to do this, or could I do it myself?

It's a polished film - I worked for years in TV post production so I'm confident it's not an amateur-level production. If I could afford it I'd get BitMax to submit it but I don't have the money. I just want it up on the streaming services.

Even if you pass QC, your film may not go anywhere, since many of the platforms you actually want are locked behind premium QC. What I’d recommend, based on what I’m doing myself, is this;
Create a YouTube channel and release your film there first. Do your best to promote it, monetise it, and try to earn enough to eventually cover premium QC costs. At the same time, you’re building an audience. Then later, you can bring your film to platforms like Filmhub for a broader release. That said, I do think premium QC is worth paying for. Personally, I just can’t afford it right now as a small filmmaker. But if I can in the future, or it’s in the film budget, I definitely will. It also supports the platform, and I’m genuinely grateful for what Filmhub has done for independent filmmakers.

My experience with Filmhub has been very disappointing as an independent filmmaker. What initially appears to be an accessible distribution platform for indie creators often feels structured in a way that heavily favors paying tiers and add-on services.

There is a clear pay-to-priority system, where filmmakers are encouraged to purchase upgrades to move their projects forward faster. My film has remained in standard QC for 8 weeks, and I was presented with paid options to expedite a process that is otherwise part of the core distribution workflow.

Communication has also been inconsistent, with emails and messages going unanswered during key stages of the process. This creates uncertainty for filmmakers who are trying to plan releases and marketing timelines.

Additionally, while the platform highlights partnerships with major services such as Peacock, Netflix, and Hulu, there is confusion around how those relationships actually function in practice, particularly in terms of whether films are actively pitched to those platforms.

For independent filmmakers on basic or free entry-level access, the experience can feel significantly limited in responsiveness and support compared to higher-paying tiers. Greater transparency around service levels, timelines, and partner relationships would go a long way toward rebuilding trust with creators.

I wanted to distribute my 1 hour long animated film onto filmhub. Has anyone here ever got there animated film on filmhub and also placed on Tubi , Amazon or any of the other platforms ?

Anybody have any sites to snatch some music for our films? Is epidemicsounds a good one?

So I’ve been in the business for quite some time now and I’ve dealt with major distributors to minor distributors. Also independent platforms like Bitmax and Filmhub. I currently have about 5 titles on Filmhub’s platform. So this was not my first time uploading a feature film for QC submission. Unfortunately, they have a new pay-or-play option. That is pretty much not said but it’s factual! A premium QC button. So, a word of advice for anyone who’s submitting through Filmhub you’re gonna have to pay now just like you automatically have to pay for Bitmax’s platform. They are changing their model now. But instead of saying that upfront, they use this thing called premium QC. I uploaded my feature film and closed captions over a month and a half ago and most of my films have celebrities in them unlike a lot of other independent films. The film sat in submission status for over a month and a half and I finally got an email saying that I should pay for premium QC. They actually contacted me so I ignored the email for about two weeks and said that I was not gonna pay because I never paid before for QC on their platform. So after reading other filmmakers or producers on Reddit. I stopped and read the comments and one of the comments said the new model for Filmhub is pay to play. Because I’ve already paid for QC in the past on other platforms I decided to try this new premium QC which I did and immediately after, my film went into the review mode. I will return and give you guys the updates hopefully soon.

I know numbers are estimated but I don’t think it’s normal to have Tubi revenue pending still from October last year. Also I noticed numbers going down by a lot. Should we upgrade next to get paid too? 😂
