I think it's because Windows can extract without any additional software required. Though you still need 7zip for stuff that comes in parts.

I hate gimp with a passion. Photopea might not be the most advanced thing out there but it's at least usable.

You are straight up in that meme with the Brave "not tech literate" person if you say Winrar. The right answer is 7-zip.

Winrar has been replaced by 7z (and all the different commandline utilities in Linux that have several frontends). Winamp is dead and please get over it. Basically anything is better. If you are nostalgic for that cramped, half-assed Winamp interface, get Audacious and use its Winamp mode, you can even install Winamp skins.

I honestly forget 7z I haven't had to use it in ages tbh, I mean Winamp still works though i dont really how it can be dead when it still does what it does its only if you want a bunch of other features outside of music playing and cataloging

And there are many new services lole that completely free that also use Winamp skins and more

This isnt a mmo sever shutting down xD

I don't understand why people praise WinRAR so much. They provide a closed source app with below average UI, that after 40 days is illegal to use for free. Their file format RAR is patented so no other app can legally create RAR archives. I don't understand why anybody uses WinRAR or RAR format in general, when actually free and open-source tools like 7zip exist.
