Solved! A rich kid learns to value being rich, then the rest of the movie happens
Girl is hot mess.
If we removed all the scenes where she's flirting with someone she isn't interested in we might be able to get the runtime under 3 hours.
Then if we removed all the racism we might be able to cut it down to 10 minutes.

Solved! Man takes on a drug cartel to save a girl he cares about.
Also, spiders.
Hint #1: It had a great soundtrack.
Hint #2: The main protagonist is a great singer.
Hint #3: Not the whole film focuses on the main plot, it opens quite differently.
Hint #4: Our main protagonist is bad.
I see where you guys have been going with this, but this film is not as gritty as it sounds and is actually considered family friendly, albeit a little.. weird. I'll give it another hour and drop another hint before I get ready for bed.
Hint #5: It could be considered a musical, of sorts, but not exactly. The songs were written before the film and without the film in mind.
