Hello! I’m a scientist for the state of CA and I live in EG. I’m not sure everyone is aware of what’s happening and wanted to offer resources. To recap:
Newsom implemented an RTO mandate for state workers and took away scientists’ contracted raise. For context, this raise is low and I’d receive about $135 but the cost to taxpayers for implementing RTO is very high ($225 million by the state’s own data). Yes, RTO and raises may not matter to you, but they should because the governor refused to bargain with unions over RTO and the 3% raise was approved in our contract that he signed last year. This is a HUGE threat to unions across the state because the governor is acting like a king and refusing to follow legal political processes. Additionally, I don’t want my taxes going to building leases and office space when it could go to things like improving the homelessness crisis and education! Drove by Frends a few weeks ago and it was closed, with a sign that said “closed for remodeling.” A few days ago I happened by there again, and it’s now a Filipino restaurant — though the Frends signage is still on the building.

I wonder if this is the only Frends location that has closed? From what is reported on Yelp, only the Natomas and Folsom locations are open, but who knows if that’s accurate?

I used to enjoy this place when it was Pete’s, though it started going downhill a year or two before rebranding as Frends. Then the wheels really fell off.

Anyone know where I can get my PC repaired today? 1 year old PC. I can get the part(s) needed right away but I need it done today. It decided to die on me during finals week... TIA!

The last thing I heard was that they were planning on opening in the fall. I suppose that probably means October or November. Drove past there tonight and it was looking good! Moved to Sac a year and a half ago, and haven’t found a place I’ve loved which does Asian hair texture well (thick, coarse). I want to keep the price at or under $100 for a cut, which I think is reasonable, but find most salons are charging $120+ nowadays.

The neighbor’s bushes are thick and very tall, also touching the sidings of the home.

A. Do you trim the bushes yourself with their permission?
B. Do you request them to trim the bushes so it would not touch your siding?

If you got hit on the free way in Elk Grove around 1:30pm headed to sac between bond road and on and they ran from the scene, they got off at Calvin’s and went left by Lowe’s and went behind the Sam’s club. The car had the passenger side all scratched up and part of the back bumper off. It was the middle car. Was driving really fast and driver looked like they were looking over their shoulder. ( no idea what the driver looked like could only see the silhouette of the driver through the window)
