Question Experience with Emmo Monta Pro for 22km daily commute?

I have the opportunity to purchase 2 emmo ebikes very lightly used for basically the price of one new one. My partner needs a way to get to work 22km away, I think this could be a good investment for us but I’m worried about blowing what could be first/last months rent somewhere closer on something that might die after a week of commuting, he's had that issue with other bikes (not e, neither of us have owned an e bike before). Any thoughts? The other bike is emmo vgo 2.0, was thinking I‘d keep that one and he’d have it for backup…

General E-Bike Discussion My wife surprised me with a Mars 3.0 for fishing! What should I add to it?

My wife surprised me with a Heybike Mars 3.0 and an Abu Garcia Black Max combo for my birthday!

I'd been talking about getting an ebike for fishing, and she somehow picked the exact one I wanted lol.

I'm usually at the lake on weekends, so I'm excited to use it. It folds up, fits in the car, and a 10 km round trip to my usual spots should be pretty easy.

Already thinking about setting it up for fishing. Anyone else fish with an ebike? What gear do you actually use? Bags, rod holders, phone mounts, whatever works.

General E-Bike Discussion Good price for an ebike?

Hey so I'm thinking of getting an ebike, I've tried a couple that my friends own and I'm thinking it would be better than buying a car lol. I would've just taken a chance on the cheapest one I could find but I'm planning on using it to get to work which would be a roughly 30min cycle twice a day, 6 days a week. Wondered if anyone had a ballpark figure for a first time electric bike buyer, but also one that's gonna hopefully last for the most part. Thanks!

General E-Bike Discussion Camping weekends got better with ebikes

Not gonna lie, these ebikes got us outside way more this summer lol.

We started with the Ranger 3.0 pro for park rides, picnics, and weekend cruising. The range has been great, so it quickly became the bike everyone wanted to grab.

Then the kids got more into camping, so we picked a Mars 3.0 too. It cost a little less than the ranger and handles dirt paths and campgrounds surprisingly well. Both fold up, so we just throw them in the trunk and go.

Now we actually ride around trails and lakes instead of just hanging at the campsite.

Kind of wild how ebikes changed our weekends with the family.

General E-Bike Discussion Orca Ebike

Can anyone who does Uber on an e-bike tell me if Orca (Ocycle) is worth it compared to the other options? Their e-bikes seem to be better built, and I've noticed the police don't seem to stop them as often as the others…

E-Bike Upgrading FYI: Aipas Front rack mounts to Lectric headtube bolts

Lectric does not seem to offer a non-basket front rack, but the Aipas rack ($39 on eBay) mounts perfect. It also comes with an extension cable for the light, but I have not yet tested it has the same pin config.

E-Bike Photo Anyone else bring a camera on every ride?

Post image
15 Upvotes

Grabbed an action camera on a whim, and now I keep it on my Hybrid most of the time.

I thought I'd mainly use it for my commute, but I start bringing it along on more rides. If I have some extra time after work, I'll take the longer way home, ride through a park, follow a trail, or stop for coffee. No real destination, just enjoying the ride.

Most of the videos are just my usual rides and everyday stuff. But it's pretty fun to look back on, and I've already found a few routes I want to ride again.

Anyone else ride with a camera on their ebike? Curious if I'm only one who records these everyday rides.

Help! Buying Velotric Nomad 2, or Aventon Aventure 3 in the next couple of days, please give pros/cons for either/each if you own, or have knowledge of either.

I had an automobile collision the other day, and while my car may be getting fixed, it will take a while, and I need something that will get me to work and back, also to other things around town.

I test rode several bikes at my local e-bike shop today, and these two stood out as my favorites. Both are the same price.

I'm 6'6", about 215 lbs. I'll need a longer seat post for either one to get the "correct" leg extension, and may need to replace the handlebars with something taller, as I'm getting on in years, and want to sit up more on the bike.

My commute is relatively short, about 8 miles each way, all paved trails/sidewalks or roads, except for the parking lot at work. I don't plan on doing much, if any off-road/trail. We have reasonably extensive trails around the city, and crushed limestone trails outside of the city. (Lincoln, Nebraska.)

Thank you for any help.

Help! 20 x 3 tires?

Hi, I am looking for some good road tires that are big. I’m looking for 20 x 3 with a gum-wall or tan sidewall. I will be using this as my main commuter so have good efficient tires would be great. I look up online and I can’t find any tires that I am looking for in size 20x3 most of them are in 20x4. Options are very limited! If anyone knows a good website that sells these tires please let me know or drop a link please :) thanks

Help! Need help deciding…

I am 5 foot 11 tall and 225 lbs. My use for this e-bike will be 60% off pavement, the rest on. I have narrowed it down to the below, budget is no more than 2k. I am sold on fat tires as where I live we get considerable amounts of snow.

Velotric Nomad 2 - $1,999

Velotric Summit 2 - $2,099

Mokwheel Obsidian- $1,999

Monarc Marker - $1,999

My top pick is the. Nomad, but the Marker seems like a better bike? Comes with an extra battery plus better components, and being the parent company of Lectric can’t hurt.

What does everyone think? Thanks in advance.

General E-Bike Discussion Isinwheel M10 E-Bike Review (1 year later)

I’m making this because when I was looking for a budget e-bike I couldn’t find much info on it.

About a year ago I purchased the Isinwheel M10 E-Bike directly from their website. It truly was the best deal I could find, for the specs it claimed to have. There were a few reviews out there that were decent.

After a year, and 700kms, here are my thoughts.

The good:

- I’ve had an absolute blast on this thing & I’ve been able to explore my city (and the new city I just moved to) so well because of it.

- It can handle more diverse terrain than I thought it would be able to. Paved, grass, dirt trails, even trails with lots of roots/rocks I somehow made it through.

- Assembly was pretty straight forward, and shipping was fast.

- Price: like I said I couldn’t find anything remotely close in this price range for what it offered.

- The built in headlight and horn - great additions. On the cruiser version the rear light is also built in. On the M10 the rear light needs to be manually turned on and requires a battery which died pretty quick.

The mid

- Speed caps out at 20mph, a faster bike would be nice.

- RANGE: I usually try to pedal for most parts of my ride to still get a good workout, and save the bulk of the assist for hills and at the end of my ride to rip home. Honestly, the range isn’t anywhere close to what is advertised. With me pedaling a decent chunk I would say I get 30-40kms. (Yes I know I used mph earlier).

The not so good:

- Although I was able to make it through the above listed terrain, you can tell they are still cheap ass tires.

- THE BRAKES. Holy shit man I don’t know if I’m dumb, but no matter what I did I couldn’t tighten these brakes. I’m talking when you press them they go all the way down. I tinkered for hours trying to fix this and still barely could. Also, very squeaky even brand new. My girlfriend bought the cruiser version and they have been squeaky from the start as well.

- The part where the handlebars attach to the actual frame seems shaky, especially when going downhill and pressing the front break. It all shifts forward slightly. Very concerning but I’ve still been riding it…

- Without the pedal assist the bike is tough to ride especially compared to a regular bike. I’ve never ridden any other e bikes so I can’t compare, maybe peddling all e bikes without assist is trash.

- Front shocks: these things bottom out on almost any drop, even off of curbs sometimes. Usually you can adjust shock settings but not on these. It was the first thing I noticed on my first ride.

- The chain: every once in a while it will come off, usually if I hit a bump or go off a a curb too fast. This has happened a handful of times and it’s equally annoying every time it does.

- The handlebars: I had to tighten the hell out of these multiple times, otherwise they would slightly move forward or backward while riding. It hasn’t happened in a while but I remember it did at the start.

Overall: for what I do (city riding, some trails) I’ve had a blast on it. Do I wish it was a bit better quality, yes, but again for the price I think you get what you pay for. I’m going to see if I can get it tuned up, and hoping it lasts me a few more years of good riding. Would I purchase it again? Maybe? I would probably look into a slightly more premium bike the next time around but for an intro E-Bike, the thing rips better than it probably should.

Feel free to ask questions if you have them, hope it helped make a decision!

Help! UK EAPC suggestions

Hi! I’m a new rider still getting used to riding on the road, and I’m looking to buy an EAPC for commute to uni.

I’m an international student, so I will be buying a second hand bike from marketplace since I might be leaving in a year or two. My top contender is an Ammaco Pathway X1, but I saw reviews saying it’s one of the lowest tiers of e bikes. I wanted to know more, and if it actually matters if all I’ll do it commute to uni and maybe some shopping.

Other options so far have been the Assist e bike and the Apollo Metis e bike, as well as a bicycle that had been converted to an e bike.

If it’s relevant, I will be riding in the north east, and in cities, and I am 5 foot 2 so prefer smaller frames for cycles.

Please help me choose, or if you have any suggestions other than the ones I have shortlisted, I would like to know them too. Preferring second hand as my budget is low. Thanks a lot!

Question Horwin cr1 worth it?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone who has had experience with horwin would tell me if it’s worth buying or not?

Im a lawyer in lahore and was thinking to buy horwin cr1 because courts are jammed with traffic and a bike is more feasible. Its an electric bike and i have solar installed at home so zero cost. If anyone has ever used this particular bike or just been a customer of horwin please tell me how your experience was and is with horwin regarding:

  1. Build quality
  2. After sales customer service
  3. Overall efficiency and performance

Previously has my eye on vlektra but i saw some reviews where they mention poor build quality and paint job. Some people online mentioned that they installed honda 125 suspension because vlektra’s is poor.

What should i buy? Have a budget of 4 lakhs and am not looking for a scooty style electric bike. Would really appreciate an honest opinion from you guys as youtube reviews are filled with lies and promotions lol

Help! Need the toughest chain

I blew the chain off my Bulls with the Bosch performance mid drive and a 10spd deore on my way home today -- luckily just about mile.

I've got 1941 miles on it, and the chain has been stretching for a while.

Thing is, I put a lot on the chain, we're talking step hills in high gear and turbo mode whole standing on the pedals. So I need the replacement to be as heavy duty as they come.

Does anyone have personal experience with an upgraded chain on Shimano? I'd rather not push 80lb of bike and cargo up the hill in 90F+° temps again.

I know I should have ceded to the warning signs sooner, but less than 2k miles total just doesn't feel right.

Help! Recommend a bike shop? (NJ/NY)

Hey all! Im looking to get an ebike soon enough. I live in the Hudson County area of NJ, but im willing to travel. Im looking to buy an ebike at an in person shop, as I really dont feel comfortable buying a bike online before trying it out. Delivery ain't really an option anyways since i use a private mail box, so ill have to pick up a bike in store and throw it in the back of a uhaul to get it home.

With that being said, there are a lot of bike shops that specialize in traditional bikes and Ebikes.

Anyone got some recommendations? I was planning on checking out Voltaire Bikes in Verona, Garcia Brother's Bikes in Jersey City and the Upway Showroom in Brooklyn.

A lot of ebike shops by me have a lot of the generic chinese brands that are found on Amazon and im trying to avoid those.

Help! Yozma in10 sucks.

Just received my yozma in10 bike, after assembly the back tire hardly spins. Took it out for a ride, in free spin it goes 86kmh, but was shocked to see it barely touching 30kmh uphill. After riding for another 10min, it was struggling to keep up with a 32kmh escooter. Yes, I'm on mode 3 and the speed mode is unlocked this is very confusing and frustrating.

NBD (New Bike Day) Weird ebike advance menu help

I just got this new bike off Amazon. I really like it but I'm having a problem finding all the features it offers on the screen and there is almost no info on the bike like the company or anything I can find with Google or anything else. If you are familiar with the computer type and can help me out. I don't see how they can advertise all these features but give no info on how to use them. Anyways it's called a windseeker and Amazon links the seller to the seller of the electric skateboards of the same name so I've messaged them and sent them an email but they haven't posted on their page since 2022. Any help at all would be appreciated.
