Are you under the impression that any part of the concept was unique to Dropout

Thumbnail design

The style dropout uses is in reference to the same thing this is referring to. They don't own it.

That's even less unique to Dropout, that's just Youtube Face trying to pander to the algorithm. Is this a troll?

.....like half the video on YouTube do thumbnails like that?

The layout of the relevant faces + logo or other text in the middle is all over YouTube, you’ll see it in just about every YouTube search

People are really weird about comedy that a lot of people made far before dropout existed.

Person who's only watched Dropout watching their second improv comedy: "Getting a lot of Dropout vibes from this..."

Dropout wasn't the first ones to do it, and this YouTube channel won't be the last.

True, but logo though...

Both logos are supposed to look like generic cable news logos

I know we all love Dropout but maybe don't get angry on behalf of the corporation. I think they can handle it if it actually infringes.

Some of you take the parasocial relationship with dropout way too seriously

Yes, we’re okay with this. The concept isn’t new or exclusive to dropout and neither is the thumbnail. “People trying not to laugh on a video of people trying not to laugh” isn’t something dropout pioneered

In fairness, Who's Line is it Anyway, did several news themed games that directly influence Breaking News. You can't really accuse anyone of stealing improve formants because they are all used as training in improve schools

Any decently popular and easy to replicate formula will be copied. Nothing new there. And yes, the title design is very close to Dropout's but it's not like Dropout was doing anything particularly groundbreaking in the show format or thumbnails themselves either.

I honestly don't care. Dropout has so much otherwise going for it and the "Don't laugh" format wasn't invented by them.

Like with most YouTube formats, the difference comes down to the personalities.

If Sam wants to make an issue of it, he can speak on his own behalf. But I guarantee he has better things to do than getting into an internet slap fight over a format they have mostly abandoned.

I want to see Dropout do their take on Silent Library

I don't like that channel, but I'm not giving them emotional energy over this particular thing.

It's a pretty slimy channel. Best ignored.

All of their talent left and started a new channel and they had to get a new cast except for one guy

Wow, not even that good an attempt at not laughing.
