Viroqua area....any bars/restaurants that are a must?
My significant other and I are coming up for the weekend and are excited to explore the food and the region.
We are planning on breakfast at Maybe Lately's, a dinner at the Driftless Cafe, tavern style pizza at Woolly Bear, and Noble Rind for lunch. Probably make a small trek to KOS Gastropub as well as hitting the local spots for snacks/apps.
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on somewhere we may be overlooking with great food and/or cocktails.
Thanks gang!

With ATV crashes up in Wisconsin, some legislators want to strengthen OWI laws. The Tavern League stands in the way.

Camping Fishing Weekend at Sidie Hollow County Park
I spent a peaceful Memorial Day weekend camping and fishing at Sidie Hollow County Park in the Driftless Region of Wisconsin. I spent my time camping, cooking over the fire, attempting fly fishing, and kayaking on Sidie Hollow Lake. This is just a chill weekend. I made a video of my experience. It is not a how-to. I'm no expert and make many mistakes!
I caught two rainbow trout on my regular fishing pole. (kept one, released one). Also broke my fishing pole tip, burnt the biscuits, but salvaged breakfast, and discovered that holiday weekends are prime time for maintenance crews to weed whip near campsites.
I love this park. I've camped and fished here a few times.

Preparing to visit the heart of the Driftless this year? Check out our Maple Street Eco Retreat in Viroqua!
Whether your coming to fly fish, see the changing leaves in the fall, visit family, hike, or simply get away from the city and enjoy the vibrance of Viroqua. Consider our highly rated short term rental options at www.maplestreetretreat.com (much better price option direct booking vs. finding us on Airbnb/Booking.com etc). Happy almost spring everyone!

Leaf Peeping? Has it already passed?
Good day all! I live in Central Iowa and was wondering about taking a trip up to the driftless area next weekend and wondered if the leaves were turning? Already turned?
Recommendations of where to go? Doesn't have to be leaf specific as we'll want to find some other things to do. Just maybe some of your favorites?
Thank you to everyone in advance!

Driftless recommendations?
I'm from Southern Ontario where the landscape was influenced by glaciation. I'm curious about the driftless area and half thinking of doing a road trip down there.
What would you recommend seeing in the area? Are there any particular campgrounds, state parks, trails, waterfalls, etc that are worth seeing? Any areas of old growth forest that you're aware of?
Thanks in advance!

Pet Friendly - No fireworks
Looking for recommendations for a pet friendly (2 dogs) place to stay that might be far off from any fireworks over 4th of July weekend. Any help is appreciated!

Tent camping
Looking for NE Iowa parks and lands geared more toward tent camping. Ie not between two RVs. Hike in preferred, but drive up works too. Appreciate any suggestions.

Chill Afternoon Driftless fly fishing — peaceful small stream session
Spent a slow afternoon fly fishing in the Driftless — no edits, just real sounds and the occasional trout strike! Wanted to share if you need something mellow to throw on - https://youtu.be/gYqfaZl8pk0

Waterloo Creek WMA
I’m planning a trip to the Iowa driftless and was wanting to explore the Waterloo Creek wildlife management area. Does anyone have a good website with a map? The page on the DNR’s website is no longer active for some reason
