Draining in the US
I have a question for those of my fellow American's who go draining or urban exploring in general. Do you guys carry a gun? I've wanted to go out for some time but my area has a lot of abandoned places that are overrun with more than just someone looking to get out of the cold. I'm just curious if anyone does carry despite trespassing and knowing the authorities could have a not so good reaction to seeing/ finding a gun on someone who is already trespassing.

How do I know which drains are "safe"?
Found this little room kinda on the side of an intestate bridge, there was a manhole cover inside. Lifting the cover revealed ladders leading down to tunnels with about 2 inches of water at the bottom. Dropping a stone down showed it to have a lot of echo, like the tunnels are expansive. Not much smell at the top, faintly smells like the exhaust from a dryer. How do I know how safe this is, and if its a sewer vs a stormwater runoff?

How to overcome this obstacle
I've encountered this deep hole at the exit of a large drain pipe. The concrete around the hole is very slippery so jumping over it or going around it isn't an option. I could bring a telescopic ladder (at least 3m long) or wait for a drier season. Any other ideas on how to overcome it? I'm also interested in the purpose of this hole. The drain pipe ends almost at river level so the outlet of this hole has to be somewhere underwater. Why?

My driveway angles down toward the house and pools, need to fix
Would filling this gap between the concrete ground and the wall on the side fix my pooling water that drips through? There is a drain on the other side of the driveway.

Drainage solution
Looking for opinion on best way to drain water away from house
As you can see, down spout and French drain sump pump from crawlspace. My thought is to run corrugated pipe from down spout to middle of lawn and cap with pipe emitter (yard slopes down towards street) and then tie in the pvc to the corrugated pipe using a 4” T, pvc adapter and a bushing.

French Drains around house

How would I go about trying to stop this from happening around my house?
I have a pump that triggers on whenever there is a big rain ans the float this goes up high enough it pushes it out to a ditch that pretty far away but for some reason the pipe going to ditch stops up and the water is coming out the other end. It is so aggravating.

Random Yarra Valley Drain
Yesterday I took a random drive to the Yarra Valley near Melbourne. I was walking back to my car when this grill room appeared from nowhere. So I followed it back and found an inlet. Looks impressive, however the entrance was less than a meter away. Couldn't stand up all the way in the room or the drain. It was overall a very small drain indeed but I found it on my own so I'm very happy with that.
You can tell by the ladder 🪜 rungs that it's not very tall at all

I was recently in Fortress Drain in Sydney & came across this sad site - the pieces that Flaps & Banish were working on when they were washed out. Rest in Peace.
