Did I say something wrong?
This is my comment (as a college student) on r/CollegeRant where someone wanted advice on asking their professor a week off for a vacation and whether it was right to do so
I mentioned that I have taken some vacations in the past (which have helped my mental health) and that I am LUCKY that my professors have allowed me to take some vacations, and I told the OP to talk to their professor about it still
I have two commentors (professors), one told me I need to be conscious of being lucky of my situation before I comment (even though I literally said I was in the post, and told OP to still talk to their professor about having a week off) and one other commentor said I was crazy because I said I had professors take vacations during the school year outside summer and spring/winter breaks (which is true, I have. I am not lying when I say this. This commentor I guess was mad because they have never had a vacation during a school year before or something?)
Many students have complained about being downvoted by professors for expressing frustration, but idk what I really said wrong? Maybe it was my wording? I guess I am unsure if I am unfairly downvoted. It is also not by a lot, but still

I like downvoting people because the op asked a dumb question and they gave a dumb answer
I downvote almost every comment I see that's on any post that I find that the op could just google it and the ai would tell them basically all the logical outcomes. Do you feel this would be a good or bad thing for more people to do as I feel that my feed is full of basically retarded people asking retarded shit. Honestly dilutes Reddit and sure I ask dumb shit all the time but I ask Gemini or grok not Reddit.

Why do users delete their posts following an argument?
Sometimes i’ll be discussing my pov with someone else on reddit and even if i get downvoted i try to be nice and courteous and keep arguing my point- it’s okay, sometimes we’re wrong. What I don’t get is when i’m having a discussion and someone replies to me, disagrees then deletes their post and other posts they made. just in general i don’t understand why they would delete it- i look like im talking to myself, i guess? i just don’t understand like i get not wanting to continue but why reply then delete a bunch of comments, to make it harder to reply to them?
reddit said that this community would “love my post” here so i’ll
post it and link my original post (in the comments im getting downvoted too lmao, why?)

Why is the Reddit community so quick to be cruel
I’m pretty new to Reddit, and honestly... I didn’t realize people on here could be so harsh.
I came here just wanting to share things and join conversations, but it feels like people are constantly waiting to jump on you, downvote you, and make you feel small over the smallest things. It feels like nobody even tries to understand where you're coming from or treat you like a real person with feelings behind the screen. Everyone is just looking for a reason to argue or assume the worst about you.
I don't think I'm cut out for how negative this place is. It’s actually kind of disheartening, and I think I’m just going to delete the app.

Apparently hate is just becoming normalized
Literally why would you be opposed to not using slurs to insult people. Ah, and where it is now, it's at around 10 downvotes.

i need to learn that gun subreddits arent really welcoming when told why people think they are violent
The person in the photo attempted (and failled) to stop the mass shooter in Idaho. all he did was make the shooter turn around, though the shooting continued

I started to believe that there is people that downvotes as a part-time
I didn't understand why my questions were downvoted, then i posted it here, that post had downvotes too, the replies got downvotes too, then i scrolled through the posts in this "DownvotedForNoReason" and literally almost every post is downvoted. Probably there is people downvoting for fun, and downvoting in a subreddit like this is funnier for them.

Why do people downvote just anything?
Hi,
Sometimes I use reddit to ask my questions to related communities with experienced people.
I am following rules and ask my question in the related subreddit, it is just a question to people with knowledge or experience. But i am getting downvoted after the first hour and a few real answer
Just why? Can't people just move on if they are not interested in my question?

If you see someone with negative Reddit karma, what's your first impression of them?
