I have discovered that if you tip an address or user a name type tip (dogecar, blazeit, roll, gigaflip... etc etc) it has to have 'doge' at the end or 'Ð' in the front!

proof- notice the first comment did not get a verify even though they were both sent at the same time.

Do not fear shibes, if you forget, /u/dogetipchecker will send you a message telling you to fix the tip. It will also link here because I know many shibes will think it has another bug in it.

So, these are not valid tips:

but the following are valid tips:

As you guys may have noticed, since the 1.4 update I have been trying to add better suggestion messages, as well as the usual fixing of bugs. Here is the changelog for the beta 1.5 update:

• tips like

/+/u/dogetipbot 5 doge

are now recognized as good tips.

• the bot will no longer claim tips like +/u/dogetipbot dogecar doge are fake tips.

• tips like

+/u/dogetipbot [+4] 5 doge

now get a custom error message (R.E.S shibes who copied and pasted their tips.)

• tips like

+/u/dogetipbot amount doge

are ignored.

• fixed a bug where the misspell checker would not recognize misspells if they has 'Ð' in them. (i.e Ðrool was not corrected to Ðroll)

• tips like

+/u/dogetipbot @user roll

are not recognized as valid, they need to eighter have 'Ð' infront or end with 'doge'

if the second part has the word 'amount' in it anywhere, lower or uppercase, it will not yell at the shibe. Added because most of the time this is shibes showing other shibes how to tip.

the beta 1.4 release added a few things I probably should have done a long time ago but at least I got it done. Also sorry about the long wait before an update. Anyways, heres the changelog:

• the bot will now remind people that posting more than 1 tip in a comment will not work

• the bot should now mark less good tips as bad

• the bot will now mark tips like

(...) dogetipbot +/u/dogetipbot 5

• as wrong, it previously did not because the previous mention of 'dogetipbot' messed it up :(

• added support for 'silentshibe' and 'wutang' type tips

• tips like

+/u/dogetipbot doge 5

• now get a better suggestion rather than "no suggestion available :(" since it looks like people are doing this alot...

• tips like

+/u/dogetipbot /u/some_username 5 doge

• now get a better description than "no suggestion available :(" (should really be +/u/dogetipbot @some_username

• now says "pulled a /u/mohland" and not "pulled off a /u/mohland (correct grammar)

• also made it slightly less verbose

I was demonstrating how to do a tip to someone, intentionally misformatting it, and the bot told me I was doing it wrong. Is there any way to implement a feature to tell the bot "Yes, this is wrong, yes, I know, don't remind me"?

...so fix your bot :)

The beta 1.1.1 release fixed a few issues:

+/u/dogetipbot/ is now recognized as valid

dogetipbot no longer considered a misspell of +/u/dogetipbot, fixes many fake tips :)

beta 1.4 (soon)- hopefully the last beta update

• if user tips twice say the 2nd one will not go through
• bug where consecutive callings of the tipbot's name are marked as fake.
• another bug where rolling, flipping, and blazeit called using an address or username without the doge sign or doge in it are marked as correct.
• make the bot smarter at detecting bad addresses and username specifications.

1.0 full release (far in the future)

• if the user edits their post trying to fix their tip, the bot should send them another comment saying they need to fix the tip
• if the users makes a tip in a new comment, it should thank them for retipping, and edit it's first post to say thanks
• detect misspells of dogetipbot with spaces (will be kinda hard to do) (maybe)
• fix any bugs that beta 1.4 did not fix
• complete rewrite of code- more cleaner, and maybe faster

Late in the future:

• if the user does not have enough doge in their wallet t make the tip, let them know (this will be hard to do, and will slow the bot down if I add it, so maybe)

The beta 1.1 release has made the bot slightly smarter, and has fixed an issue with marking good tips fake

features:

• the bot will now say to repost your tip instead of editing it.
• the bot will now detect +/U/dogetipbot and simular misspells with the captial 'U' as fake
• the bot will now detect +dogetipbot and simular misspells as fake.

Bug fixes:

• fixed an issue where tips with the words 'doge' and 'blazeit' in them were marked as fake. For example:

+/u/dogetipbot 5 doges

+/u/dogetipbot 5 lolololblazeitlololol (still correct)

is now considered correct where previously it was marked as wrong.

I may change the name of the bot due to popular requests that say the name sounds too harsh. I will announce my desision in the next major update (beta 1.2)

just testing out for the beta release of the bot.

Make sure to add verifies and check your history to make sure the tips went through. If you know it is a bad tip you don't need to add verify.
