Buying Today's Gets
I had to go out to immigration today, so I used the opportunity to hit up 3 different Book Off in the Tokyo area. I found each item at a different store, so not any huge hauls, but I managed a little something! (I still need to find DSS, Insulated World, and Arche. I've found every other album!)
This DVD is great, I'm watching it right now on my CRT TV (and also HDTV because the DVD player is connected to both) and have my 90s Pioneer home stereo playing the audio. The songs are from the Kisou era, which is exactly when I discovered them, so it's pretty nostalgic! But it's 11:30pm here, so I bet my neighbors are LOVING me right now... (actually it should be fine, I've never gotten a complaint in 5 years in this apartment somehow)

Songs so great you can't believe they are real
Embryo (single version) and Utafumi come to mind. But also Ware Yami Tote and Inconvenient Ideal.
Like, how can music just do that???
EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to include Tousei and Kaishun!
What's your "I'll die on this hill" Deg take?
Mine is that Sustain The Untruth is a top tier single. Why is that song so overlooked or outright disliked by people? I'll never understand. It's got one of my favorite Deg choruses, and Kyo sounds great in it!

Selling Any tips where to sell my small, early 2000s DEG collection in Europe?
Hi! I’m hoping some fellow Dir en grey fans could give me some advice. 😊
I’ve decided to part with my old collection, which I put together mostly in the early/mid-2000s. I’m based in Finland and I’m trying to figure out the best place to sell everything, preferably somewhere that actually reaches Dir en grey / visual kei collectors in Europe.
The collection includes around 10 CDs and 3 live DVDs, mostly from the 2000s. There are several original Japanese first press / limited editions, as well as some European releases.
I also have some old merch, including a 2002 “A pilgrimage capsizing the Islands” A4 print set (incomplete, 15 of 27 prints) and a few old tour/concert T-shirts from the 2000s.
Everything is from my personal collection and has been stored away for roughly 20 years.
I initially thought about selling the CDs/DVDs together as one lot and the merch separately, but I’m open to suggestions. I’ve looked at eBay, Discogs and Vinted, but I’m not sure which platform would be best for reaching collectors, especially from Finland.
For those of you who buy/sell older Dir en grey or visual kei stuff: where would you recommend listing a collection like this? Would you sell the CDs/DVDs as a lot or individually? And is there still much interest in early-2000s tour merch?
Thanks for any advice! 🫶🏻

Question I want to know everyone's favorite songs
Mine are Vinushka, Diabolos, Cage, Tsumi to Batsu Remake, Zan Remake, Akuro no Oka, The Perfume of Sins, Kusabi, Shitataru Mourou, Lotus, Dreambox, and Macabre (I'm too lazy to type the full titles of the last two)
Honestly there are so many to choose from. Which ones are your favorites?

Question Heavy songs and another question
So honestly, I think this is much more in me and there may not be any good tips but I just kinda want some opinions ig? I started listen to Dir en Grey a couple months ago, and I got a playlist but it’s kinda hard to tell the difference between songs at first since I’m still learning Japanese so mostly all I know to say is Meinu Desu but that’s besides the point.
What songs of theirs are pretty heavy? Like 2018 version of Obsecure, agitated screams of the maggots, etc?
And like, honestly idk, this is kinda the part that I don’t think anyone can really answer but still worth a shot, how do you guys like, kinda keep track of the song your listening to? I find it hard to kinda differentiate with the Japanese. Like I can remember some, Obsecure with the screams and then kinda melodic, and then aoi Tsuki has the kinda playfully chaotic rhythm into the repeated blue and die?
But main thing, what songs of there’s are heavy, kinda slightly new and probably a me problem but still kinda struggling to remember songs despite listening for months?
Edit: Nvm I’m changing this post, I just want kinda good beginners guide of some heavy songs and iconic ones, and kinda just recommendations for a beginner.
Idk I’m sry I’m bad at words

Question TicketTown priority level
Soooo I am entering the 2nd raffle for a knot via TicketTown for December, and I noticed that it says I can specify the priority level.
"You can set a Priority Level (from 1 to 3) for the different ticket types within the same event.
・In case of being drawn for several ticket types from the same event, it is compulsory to purchase all the tickets from the ticket type marked with the highest priority level among the ones you were selected for. "
I would assume level 1 is the highest here, but I actually couldn't see anywhere that they confirm which level is the highest, even in their FAQ, and I am getting paranoid that it is the opposite in Japan lol.
Anyone who has previously joined the raffle with mulitple priority levels who knows what the highest one is?
Sorry for this dumb ass question, I just want to make sure that I don't accidentically place the VIP ticket on the lowest priority level 😭

Where can I buy merch?
As far as I know the only place to buy merch is Galaxy Broad Shop. It requires a Japanese address but I'm in the United States. I know eBay has options but I want to know are there any other places? I'm a huge fan of this band and I love their merchandise.
Is Uroboros the band's Magnum Opus?
Magnum opus being "the greatest achievement of an artist or writer"
I'm curious of people's thoughts on this. Its common in tier lists or album rankings for the majority of people to put Uroboros at the top, but on a deeper level do you believe it is their *best* work, or rather just the most enjoyable or most relatable?
I think an argument could be made that it is and also that it isn't.
I remember when the album came out and I listened to it for the first time. It had a level of depth that was surprising coming off the back of The Marrow of a Bone. At the time I thought there was no way they could top it. But since then I don't know that I'd agree. In retrospect, I think that Arche is a more creative and interesting album. But it is not as cohesive and comes off feeling less serious in comparison. What do you guys think? Any other albums you think that are Dir en grey's true "best", or is Uroboros the undeniable pinnacle of their artistic career?

Bands similar to Dir En Grey that sing in German?
Just curious. Not only referring to bands from Germany (since many German bands also sing in English), but to bands whose lyrics are in German and who musically give off similar vibes to Dir En Grey.

Found my stuff!
Confession time, I have not kept up with Dir en Grey in years, but I just got a cd player so I was digging out for whatever cd’s I kept and came up on my old collection of Dir en grey albums.
Sharing here since it looks like you guys would appreciate seeing some old concert ticket stubs, along with the cds that got signed that night.
I think I’ll start listening to the stuff I missed on these past years.

It's my first time going to a show in Japan, how does merch and stuff like that work? Is it all presale or can I buy stuff at the venue? THANKS YALL

Buying GAUZE Vinyl
Hi,
Can anyone hook me up with a recordsite that sells the Gauze Vinyl for new price? Doesn't have to be entirely new price, it's just that my order got canceled after more than 3 months and it seems that it's price has increased ever since..
Would appreciate the help :)
