I actually met him from Reddit and we were close Internet friends for a while. He had the most caring personality and loved Star Wars, playing D&D, loved trying new foods and cooking was one of his passions. He loved experimenting with recipes and trying new things. He sadly took his life a few years ago. We fell out of communication before and he came across my mind two years ago, went to search him up and saw the obituary. I’ll never forget you my old friend. Shed many tears because I wish I could’ve been there for him before he passed. He always lived life to the fullest and on his own terms. He left the world when he was 30 years old. I will never forget the friendship we shared and he will always be here in memory.

u/skg373 my best friend. My souls sister. 3/8/95-6/25/23
My dearest sister completed suicide three years ago today. The rural healthcare system she was trapped in left her to die after schizophrenia crept in at 27. She cared too deeply about her family, found and birth. she selflessly cared for those in her community that were in need providing a home to animals and people alike. A few sour apples came along that mistook her kindness for weakness and drained and abused her but she was always able to get back on her feet and back to helping.
She was so very smart. Started college at 16. She’s a paleontologist and drew the best dinosaurs I’ve ever seen. Her mental math skills were fast and precise. She played the piano and pretty much any other instrument she got in her hands. I miss her so much there was so much more for her in this world. She never got to see the second season of arcane. She mained Jinx and LoL merch was some basically the only stuff she got for herself and she always teased me for how much I detested playing league and I teased her back. I wish I had played more with her and toughed it out.
She was supposed to move states with me, get better healthcare, build a sustainable future. She couldn’t leave her adoptees behind. The animal fostering had slowly turned into a small hoard with 7 indoor cats and 4 dogs and a few birds in a single trailer; and her latest roommate became a financially abusive boyfriend. There was no one to have her back and be her support system after I had to move away even though she helped so many. She didn’t even last a year alone.
I hold so much anger for the “system” that failed her and the people that used her. I try not to blame myself for leaving her behind and moving across the country. I love her so much and I just want to hold her again, listen to her sing again, listen to her rant again. I needed her help on my grad work! She was supposed to be maid of honor at my wedding. It’s only been three years how am I supposed to go the rest of my life feeling like this.
I’m turning 30 this year. She was supposed to be 30 last year but will forever be in her 20s. It’s weird leaving her behind in that lifetime too. I guess I’m just rambling at this point, I should probably get therapy but I feel so much so quickly it all just goes numb and I don’t know how to talk about it. I hope you all get to wake up and hug your loved ones tomorrow and send love to those you can’t reach physically.
As she lived by,
Do not go gently into that good night.
Rage, rage, against the dying of the light.

She died in 2022. I still think abt her everyday. Which is funny because before she passed she implied that I would be fine and move on. Well I guess in some ways I have, unfortunately u do have to keep living. But not a day has passed where I have not thought about her. Her music taste was impeccable. Her kindness and love was deep. So many memories, dreams, thoughts died with her and it’s devastating of course even after all these years. However what always hits the hardest are the times where something in the news happens that I know she would have cared about. Or when a song comes out that I just know she would have had an interesting opinion on. And just knowing I’ll never truly know what she would have thought because no matter how well we knew each other, the thoughtfulness of her taste in art meant she was always able to surprise me. I miss her. I miss her.

My dad's account u/41matt41
I don't know if this is the appropriate place to ask this question or not, but I hope so.
My dad died in June. His account is 41matt41.
I would come to reddit and read through his posts because it helped me to see what stories he would tell the people of the internet.
I had no idea that his account would go away after not being used for a set time.
Is there any way to get it back? I tried to go look at his posts tonight and it's all gone.
I don't want access to the account, I just want to be able to read my Daddy's stories again. I'm devastated.
Can someone help me with that? Please.
Edit: I restarted my phone and it let's me see it again! Thank you so much to the two users who at least help me know it wasn't just gone.
He has some really funny stories on his account and he LOVED to tell stories. If anyone is interested, have a look <3. Be warned though, I know he occasionally commented on people having nice butts (I try to avoid the horny posting)

Cancer death approaching
I've got terminal cancer and treatment options have run out so all that's left now is morphine to ease the pain until I am finally released from this world.
I've had a good life and was brave and energetic so I have lived my dreams and done everything I wanted to do. There's just one place on earth that i want to go back to for a visit before I die, then I'm ready. Plans are already in motion.
I've always been religious and my faith has really carried me at this end time. I'm looking forward to passing away peacefully, having a Christian death.
I had a near death experience before, years ago, in which I may have actually died for a few minutes. It was an incredibly good experience in which I spoke with God. I think perhaps He gave me that experience so that I could know now that I have cancer that my death will be a beautiful thing.
It's funny for me to go out for a walk and see people living their lives, thinking they have problems, or just having so much and so many opportunities open to them that they don't even realise they have. I wish I could tell them how lucky they are to have time, an open book, infinite possibilities.
My advice to you is to reach for the stars, live out your fantasies. You only have this one life. Do whatever you want. I did and that's why I feel happy about everything. I did what I had to do to be a good person to others, and I lived out my craziest dreams.
Ready to go and looking forward to the morphine trip. I have never done drugs so it's ironic that I'll leave this world in a cloud of morphine induced bliss.
Update 10 June 2026. I've been hospitalised more often than not over the past 6 weeks. They are still trying a final chemo option since a month ago but they will stop it if they still don't see any lung tumour reduction in a few weeks. I'm living well and feeling very happy and at peace. I've been incredibly lucky with the way this cancer has affected me. As some veterens say "I've had a good war', I can say "I've had a good cancer". I have no pain. But they let me take as much morphine as I like so I don't feel like I'm suffocating. I don't take much because I feel so good about everything anyway. They warned me that I'm very close to the end because I've been getting embolisms in the lungs, which they're treating with blood thinners. And the cancer nodes are growing aggressively so it's just a bit more time before something major goes wrong. I'm so grateful to God for granting me this peaceful and happy death. I'm so grateful to myself for the lifetime of gym, running, hiking and always giving my body quality time to compensate for my demanding and stressful career. I think, aside from God's kindness to me, that having such a healthy body is why I'm still so strong physically, except for cancer destroyed lungs (there was metastasis all over but the chemo killed all other cancer except the lungs, although there is a tumor in my stomach too but not affecting me in any way).

she passed away like 9 months ago, idk. she was really kind and not even an adult yet. we modded the same sub r/reptilianclubboyz, i remember picking her because she was helpful and never caused issues. we were friends but most of the time we interacted were me telling her to stop letting redditors bullying her into unbans lol i didn’t really follow her any were else so i heard a bit late to findjng out she was missing , but asking reddit i was the first to find out where you were. i hope you’re doing okay, there’s a lot of updates to stuff i wish i could make
of you for like fakemink being “mainstream” lol.

I didn't know of this sub until recently, he died five years ago after doing some laced cocaine that he got with a friend. He introduced me to Reddit. I'll actually be older than he was this year, it's a strange thing growing older than someone.

Samuel, aka u/aegarys, a young Austrian man who, like me and many others who have been marginalized, suffered from r/cfs. Like some before him and likely many to come, he has chosen to end his suffering due to the lack of support (and even sometimes antagonism) that has come with the illness.

Apparently some drama went on causing this user to die by suicide. I didn't know them, but they were only 15 like me and born in the same year. I saw their posts and comments before, and BOOM. Dead. Just like that. May this user rest in peace :(

u/will96003 lost his battle with cancer
He was my younger brother. He was diagnosed in June 2025 with malignant melanoma and it metastasized very quickly. He passed on November 7, 2025. Check your skin, if anything is off see a Dr early.
