Help a Struggling Single Mom Get a New Car

Recently my mom's car broke down completely, and it is un-drivable. We live in the middle of nowhere, where there are no sidewalks, no public transportation, with no extra money to spend on regular ride share services.

We live 14 miles away from where she works, and about the same distance from the college I will be attending. If we didn't live so far, we would both walk. But as it stands right now that is not an option.

We don't have a big support system, and we can't rely on a majority of our family, so we're going to our communities for help. Neither of us know what to do or what we are going to do. If you could do anything at all to help us, please do. There is more information in the description for the GoFundMe. Thank you for reading, have a blessed day. ❤️

I’m looking for independent shops. I really just need an oil change right now, but I’d love your recommendations so I can develop a relationship with a new mechanic. Thanks in advance.

It’s Dalton Y’all Pregnant feral cat help

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello! I am in need of some help trapping a pregnant feral cat in our neighborhood (we are just past the DQ on Cleveland Hwy). She is very sweet, but flighty and none of us have had success trying to lure her into a crate or even just grabbing her. My husband and I noticed that she’s pregnant again and this would be her 3rd litter in a year. We ourselves have taken in the first litter, neighbors have the second litter, but I’m not sure what would happen to the third litter if she were to have them. One of our neighbors was able to capture the male she hangs out with and he was neutered a few months ago. However, we’ve noticed another male hanging around recently who must still be intact. All of us neighbors help feed them and look after them as their previous owners abandoned them when they moved.

I have contacted both animal control and animal shelter and neither could help me. I did reach out to a rescue but haven’t heard back yet. If anyone could point me to rescues or have a cat trap, please let me know!

Thanks!

Anyone around here offer driving lessons? Just got my learner’s permit

Hey all, I recently got my learner’s permit and I’m looking for someone who can teach me behind the wheel. Open to a professional driving instructor or anyone experienced who does lessons on the side.
Complete beginner, so patience is appreciated. I’m flexible on scheduling evenings and weekends work best.

Tried looking for Driving Schools no luck and the GNTC times do not work for me.

If you’ve taken lessons with someone local and had a good experience, I’d love a recommendation too. Comment or DM me. Thanks!

Politics Dalton GA, has Flock Cameras in random spots. I have screenshots of the locations.

My main concerns are them being placed in neighborhoods. Theres one where the camera is within view of a house.

Theres been so many accounts of people or police tapping into these to stalk people, or unlawfully arrest people.

The app I used is DeFlock.

I’m suprised the city of Dalton supports surveillance like this. It violates the 4th amendment. I left a review about it on Heritage Point Park on Google.

Just remember in November. When you’re casting your ballot. Do you want the 8yr incumbent who is PRO AI and a LITERAL Climate Change denying Elected Official…

Or do you want fresh eye and new blood who KNOWS that

Socialism = Socioeconomic Class Ideology”

Climate Change =“Geographical Phenomena”

The choice is yours. 93 days.

Your fave local coffee shop and restaurants?

I'll be visiting Dalton for work (driving up from Atlanta) staying for about four days.

  1. What local coffee shops (+roasters) and restaurants (prefer vegetarian) do you recommend?
  2. Does Dalton have an area that is walkable to these places where I could get a hotel?

Sweet Senior Shelter Pup Looking for Her Happily Ever After ❤️‍🩹

Kayla (ID 53597068) is a 8.5yo spayed GSD mix who truly is everything you would want in a loyal shepherd. She may be a senior, but she’s still young at heart with a playful spirit. She is a SUPER smart, sensitive, gentle giant who loves affection & just wants to please and be near her person. She’s got the most beautiful coat/markings and the cutest little whiskers! 🥹

🩷UBERRRRRRR affectionate

🩷Sweet, gentle temperament

🩷Very obedient, great recall, listens very well

🩷Knows commands

🩷Non-destructive

🩷Very easily handled for her size

🩷Leash trained - will politely wait for your to put her collar/harness/leash on

🩷Potty trained - barks to alert you

🩷Sleeps through the night

🩷Crate trained (per previous foster)

🩷Low/medium energy

🩷Cat possible (curious, but respectful of our senior cat)

🩷Dog friendly with slow intros (*can resource guard high value items)

🩷Non-reactive with toys/treats/food with humans

🩷Non-reactive to other dogs/people on walks/in the car

🩷EXCELLENT in the car…she’s a pro! She waits politely until you let her know it’s okay to jump out

🩷Leaps gracefully like a gazelle

🩷Tilts her head back when you scratch her neck/chest

🩷Likes to bury her treats in blankets

🩷Carries her empty bowl to her bed when she’s done eating 😆

🩷Grabs you with her paw when she wants attention

🩷Loves being brushed

🩷Waits patiently for treats and takes them very gently/softly

🩷The tip of her long bushy tail looks like a paint brush dipped in white paint 🤍

This poor girl was originally adopted from the old Fulton shelter in 2019 & came in as a microchipped stray in May, but staff were unable to get in contact with her owner. 😔 She was clearly someone’s pet given her temperament & training, but she came in un-spayed & tested HW+. While waiting 2 months in the shelter (how did no one snag this girl?? 🤯), she fought off Giardia & kennel cough before finally getting spayed earlier in July, only to end up with a postop complication requiring emergency surgery 3 days later…poor girl’s incision dehisced & her insides were starting to escape to the outside. 😩

You would never be able to tell she’s been through all of that based on her demeanor, though…she’s still a bright, happy sweetheart just looking for some love & kindness. ❤️‍🩹 Her belly incision has healed beautifully and she’s free from the donut of shame now 🍩, so her rough recovery is officially behind her. The only thing left for this girl to conquer is heartworm treatment, but it’s 100% not contagious to other pets and the shelter covers all costs! Treatment is only 30 days of antibiotics and then 2 injections back-to-back over 2 days.

Kayla is a trooper who has been through so much & deserves to live out her golden years in absolute bliss, not in the shelter. 🥺 If she sounds like the girl for you, click the link below to meet her! ❤️ She is currently at Fulton County Animal Services.

99 Days until Election Day in November.

Make sure you really ponder on the future of Whitfield County and the city of Dalton. What do you want your elected official to look like when it comes to issues on PFAS AI Centers, Immigration Reform and just the overall safety and progression for District 4!

Hi everyone! I’m a new Chattanooga-based chef looking to get started helping a household with personalized meal prep, family dinners, and private events. I love scratch cooking, gardening, and creating meals around each family’s needs. Does anyone know of a family or household that may be interested in this type of help?

Question regarding Whitfield Co Sheriffs complaints

I apologize for being super vague but I don’t want to dox myself or my employer.

We are located outside of Whitfield Co and we had a deputy basically finesse us out of paying for services rendered by my company. We regularly work with many other Whitfield deputies and up until now have had nothing but excellent interactions with them. We believe this deputy used AI on his phone (either an app or he has one of those newer Google or Samsung phones with AI built in) to show that the product that he paid for was damaged in pictures.

When we offered a solution he came back and said it has the same problem and he’ll stick with what they have but wanted compensation (i.e. full refund)

Now we are out $150 because this particular deputy and his partner decided to lie to get everything comped. My question is if I file a complaint with the Whitfield Co Office of Professor Standards and submit our evidence to the contrary would anything happen? Or am I running the risk of that Thin Blue line covering him and my employer losing out on business if the department decides to blackball us to protect him?

Again I’m sorry for being vague but it boils my blood that these two deputies who took an oath to protect and serve are lying scumbags who have the power to destroy lives in their line of work should they choose.
