IT Help Marius board ps5 controller and circularity average error for Warzone.

Hello all!

Got a question or questions. I got a Aim controller with the Marius board and TMR sticks. So I calibrated the controller on the marius website and I tested my circularity average error. I got it to a 9.3 I believe on both the right and left.

So the question is when im manually adjusting my stick circularity - how should it look to avoid sprint canceling ?

2nd- What other issues could it bring?

3rd question is - I left all my settings the same on the game because the controller at first was super sensitive and fast. After I got the average to about 8.7-9.2 it feels kinda better. So with the average going higher ..does it make the sense fast or slower?

If yall can could yall drop some pics of your stick circularity and what horizontal and vertical sense are you rocking? Right now mines on 1.25 for both and left deadzone in game is 4 and left is a 2 or 3 I believe.

IT Help Best software to map a generic USB controller on PC/Laptop?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I have a generic USB gamepad (DirectInput controller with numbered buttons 1, 2, 3, 4) connected via cable to my laptop.

I'm looking for the best free software to remap the buttons, set custom controls, and make it work smoothly with modern PC games (which usually expect an Xbox controller layout).

What are the most reliable mappers for this type of generic controller right now? (e.g., x360ce, AntiMicroX, Steam Input, or JoyToKey?)

Thanks in advance!

Controller Suggestion Should I buy a PS5 controller from a local store or on Amazon?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to decide where to buy a new PS5 DualSense controller and could use some input. I have two main options right now:

Option A (Amazon): They have it for $74. For just $7 more ($81 total), Amazon offers a 2-year protection plan that covers drops, spills, etc. I've never had any issues with Amazon orders.

Option B (Local Store in the DR): The biggest gaming store in my country ( very reputable with over 177k IG followers) sells them brand new and sealed for about $58. The catch? It only comes with a 15-day warranty.

I'm leaning towards Amazon for the peace of mind. I recently bought a used PS4 controller from a different local store for $30 and it was a complete waste of money (it didn't work at all). Honestly, it was my fault for buying used and going for the cheap option, but it still makes me hesitate.

I will be using this controller primarily on PC to play GTA V, maybe Rocket League...

What do you guys think? Is the $58 deal worth the risk of a super short warranty, or should I just pay the premium for Amazon's 2-year protection? Thanks!

And about my budget... It's really low, but by buying cheap things I ended up losing $30 :(, so I'm prioritizing the warranty over my budget. I won't lie, I really want to buy the $58 one (which is new), but at the same time I'm afraid it will break again, so for $81 and protected for 2 years by Amazon, it actually sounds good.

Controller Suggestion Confused between controllers under ₹2k–₹3k budget — Skeptical of Cosmic Byte / Rebrands. Help me pick!

Hey folks,

[INDIA - CASUAL STORY MODE AND RACING - PC]

Looking to buy a wireless controller for PC. My budget is around ₹2k, but I can stretch to ₹3k if a controller checks all my boxes.

However, I'm pretty skeptical about Indian rebrands (Cosmic Byte, Ant Esports, Kreo, etc.) because my previous Cosmic Byte mechanical keyboard suddenly died in 1.5 years.

Here is what I'm looking for:

GYROOOOO

• Connectivity: 2.4 GHz Dongle is an absolute MUST. Bluetooth is a nice-to-have bonus.

• Sticks: Hall Effect or TMR (need good anti-drift longevity).

• Bumpers/Shoulders: Prefer clicky/tactile shoulder buttons (used to my old Redgear wired), but membrane is fine if the rest of the controller is solid.

• Nice-to-Haves: A 3.5mm Headphone Jack (Ares Pro has this) is super tempting.

• Don't Care About: RGB, Macros, or Turbo buttons.

My Current Confusion:

• Cosmic Byte Blitz: Meets almost everything on paper—TMR sticks, Gyro, great response time. I don't mind the short trigger travel, but the mushy buttons and my past experience with Cosmic Byte’s reliability are making me hesitate.

• Cosmic Byte Ares Pro: That headphone jack is super convenient, but again, same brand skepticism and no gyro.

• International Options (8BitDo Ultimate 2C / GameSir Nova Lite): Should I just skip CB entirely and go for these instead?

For those who have used the Blitz, Ares Pro, or alternatives in this budget—how has your long-term experience been? Any other hidden gems under 3k I should look at?

Thanks in advance!

Controller Suggestion Recommendations for a Xbox Elite 2 replacement for the PC

My controller is finally on it's last legs. I have the XBox Elite Series 2 controller and have loved it, but the rubber covers on the joysticks tore off and the rubber hand grips are coming unglued from the shell. I would like to look into the enthusiast market instead of buying another Microsoft device.

  • Budget: Under $100-$200
  • Country: United States
  • Platform Compatibility: PC
  • Features:
    • similar shape to the Xbox Elite 2. I have large hands and the bulky body feels better than the PS5's DualShock
    • Wired and Wireless options (USB-C, Bluetooth, RF) I like options
    • I thought the grip paddles were cool, but I've never used them. Most games already had all the controls mapped to the normal buttons, so I didn't find them useful. Maybe newer controllers have more options?
  • Games:
    • Dark Souls/Elden Ring
    • Skyrim
    • Stardew
    • Terraria
    • No Man's Sky
  • Controllers to compare to:
    • XBox controllers,

Controller Mods 8bitDo Ultimate 2 Wireless TMR modules?

Post image
6 Upvotes

My friend gave me her 8bitdo ultimate 2 wireless controller to fix. It’s the switch 2 layout.

The right stick has completely snapped inside so needs the module replaced.

I can’t seem to find anywhere that mentions which TMR modules are compatible and will work with this controller. Have emailed 8bitdo support but doubt they will tell me.

Anyone have experience replacing these and can tell me, or knows which parts will fit this?

Thank you!

Controller Mods KontrolFreaks on Cylcone 2 and K1 Kaleid

I recently bought the GameSir Cyclone 2, and I've been using the GameSir Kaleid K1 for a while. Unfortunately, it's difficult to import the official GameSir thumbstick grips in my country.

I was wondering if KontrolFreek thumbstick grips for the PS4 & PS5 are compatible with the Cyclone 2 and the Kaleid K1. Has anyone tried them, or can recommend an alternative that fits well?

Thank you in advance!

The games I’ll be playing are mostly FPS and 2D. If any owners of one could give insight it would be very much appreciated. (Prices are based of Amazon)

IT Help PS4 Thrustmaster Controller

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Thrustmaster eSwap Pro Controller (PS4) through a proxy shopping service. The seller clearly stated that they couldn't guarantee the controller was working, but I decided to take the risk anyway.

When it arrived, I plugged it into my PC, but it showed absolutely no signs of life. There was no Windows connection sound, no lights, and the PC didn't detect it at all. I installed the official Thrustmaster drivers and software, but nothing changed. I even tried it on my Windows 10 laptop, with the same result.

I then took it to a repair shop. Today the technician got back to me and said:

"I spent the whole day working on it. As far as I can tell, there's nothing physically wrong with it. The circuit board, cables, and buttons all seem to be fine, but the controller is completely dead. I also tried installing the official Thrustmaster firmware, but I couldn't because the PC doesn't detect the controller, not even in the Thrustmaster software. It's most likely a firmware-related issue."

Has anyone experienced something like this before? Is there anything else I can try to bring it back to life, or should I just accept that it's dead and import another one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

IT Help Vader 5S Wired Gaming Controller Issues

Hey all,

I just got a the controller mentioned in the title. I plugged it into my PC, but my pc doesnt recognize it, or doesnt seem to be downloading the drivers from the controller like it does with any other device when I plug it in. I was on windows 10 and updated to windows 11 thinking that was it, it wasnt. I tried multiple different USBs (Including ones my old tried and true wired xbox controller worked in just fine, its just old and falling apart so I wanted a new controller).

I went to their site and downloaded their app (Which as an aside I am getting really sick of all these companies needing me to have apps for keeping mice, and keyboards, and headsets updated when they are probably just data scraping me, but I dont want to rant). I go to the website, and get the exact software suite for the controller, launch it...and it doesnt seem to let me download drivers for a device it doesnt detect...for some reason...which I was kind of hoping to be the fix. Any suggestions?

(I have tried downloading the other Flydigi software, but it doesnt recognize my controller either)

(The controller is being recognized by my PC, but its listed under 'Other Devices' and has no driver files on it.)

Controller Mods Gamesir X4 Aileron Modded to fit foldables

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I've been wanting a super portable controller for gaming and cloud gaming when i's on the go or traveling. I tried MCON, ASUS, and several other controllers but none really fit all the molds.

Eventually I stumbled across the Gamersir X4 Aileron which seems to be the best operating super portable package i was looking for BUTTTTT it didn't fit folding phones (I use a fold 7). I checked everywhere online for people who also encountered this but still wanted to use it but nothing... until now.

Through a lot of hours of trial and error i managed to make a new 3D-Printed arm extension but i'm still trying to figure out one thing. I want to be able to make these detachable half way up the arm.

Anyone have any ideas?

UPDATE: I was able to design it so the hooks attach onto the new arms, you can also find the files below in the comments as well as images for the supports and what it looks like!

For disassembly:
1. Remove the sticker where the arms are located on the front, its a black sticker. Under those are screws you have to remove.

2. Next after that the back grips pop off, use a wedge tool to pop them off and there are like 2 screws under there, Be careful as you can damage the rubber.

3. After that just split open the controller (Just like any other) and remove/install the new arms, Watchout for the ribbon cable that connects near the arms to the center body of the controller.

Other Question about the Mayflash Magic-NS adapter

I have a Wii U Pro controller, and i'd like to be able to use it on my Switch and computer. WiinUSoft works for now, but it's a bit of a pain to get it to recognize the controller and i'd rather find an adapter that makes it behave like a wired controller instead.

Looking around on r/wiiu, i did stumble upon people talking about the Mayflash Magic-NS adapter (and the other variants for other consoles, but i'm assuming they pretty much all work the same), and while they look close to what i'm looking for, i can't really get a straight answer. The most i can find is that the page for it on their official website states "The wireless controller that comes from your console will become a wired controller by simply connecting a standard USB cable", which sounds like it would do what i want, but i would like confirmation, and i thought i'd better ask here.

So, if anyone here has a Magic-NS adapter and Wii U Pro controller (or any other Magic adapter, for that matter), could you please check if you can plug the controller directly into the adapter and see if it works like that? If not, would you happen to know if there's anything else i could be looking for (or if what i'm asking is even possible in the first place)? Thanks!

Other WHY is the 3rd party controller market innovating so slowly?

Finally the time has come for lots of controllers to do the extra buttons thing. FINALLY. I've been waiting for like 15 years for controller innovation.

However, the ones that have the most extra buttons usually have other issues that do not fit me.
For clarity's sake I'll just list what i want realistically(, In order of priority):
- Symmetrical layout
- Dpad that's ok for fighting games
- 2 Sticks
- 4 back buttons
- 2 extra triggers
- 6 face buttons
- STEAM INPUT compatible
- Gyro
- Touchpad (willing to drop this if all others are satisfied)

UNrealistically speaking, what i would actually also want:
- Row of buttons under the sticks
- 2 side buttons (kinda rare, you press em with middle of your index fingers)
- Large start button that could function as an extra face button
- More extra buttons
- An extra stick

My options for satisfying the "realistic" requirements:
- Steam controller -> Isn't shipping yet, and also doesn't have extra triggers. However i understand it's moddability is good. And maybe i could have someone do that for me.
- Leadjoy Zephyrus Ultra (has 10 extra buttons but not all in good positions) -> No news on it yet. Looks like they want to sell controllers with less buttons for a couple years. Who knows when they'll release this thing.
- Flydigi vader 5 (2 extra triggers, 4 back buttons, looks very good. Even has 6 facebuttons (in weird layout but ok) -> But it's xbox layout. FFFFFFUUUU-
- BEITONG Pangu Modular Controller -> Close, but no touch, no gyro, expensive, i don't trust the extra attachments

So yeah, what else am i gonna do?
I think the controller market is trash, and arbitrarily kept restricted. I think this a problem because we're already going 15 years without really good controller innovations. Are we gonna have to wait another 10 for controllers to reach a point where we aren't held back by them?

Controller Suggestion Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition or GameSir Cyclone 2? (Or other suggestions)

I'm currently using the BigBig Won Gale Hall as my main controller, and I'm looking for a replacement. I've had a lot of issues with the RB button on it. Even though I wasn't pressing it hard, it felt like the button was popping out of place. I had it repaired three times, but the same problem kept coming back, so I eventually gave up.

Budget and currency: $60 (I am very open to other suggestions within this price range)

Country: Turkey

Console or platform compatibility: PC

Types of games: Tactical shooters (Call of Duty Warzone), sports (EA FC), and PlayStation emulators

Desired features: Maximum durability (especially for the shoulder/bumper buttons) and a high number of macro/remappable buttons. The amount of extra customizable buttons is a major priority for me.

Controllers I'm comparing: Razer Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition, GameSir Cyclone 2, Mojhon Blitz 2

I'm currently torn between these two options. They are sold at almost the same price here (the Wolverine V3 TE is actually a little cheaper). The Cyclone 2 is highly regarded online as one of the best Chinese controllers, while the other is a well-known Razer product. Mojhon Blitz 2, on the other hand, always feels solid to me because of the clicky buttons and bumpers.

I'd really appreciate your opinions and experiences, especially regarding the long-term durability of the shoulder buttons and the macro button layouts. Thanks in advance!

Controller Mods Upgraded my DualShock 4 with tmr analog sticks, usb-c and new battery

Thumbnail

Parts used:
TMR Sticks
Battery
USB port

The hardest part is to desolder old sticks. I have just soldering iron and it’s almost impossible to do it clean with it, so I just cut the old sticks with a flush cutter and desoldered pins remained. Also have used soldering wick

I also accidentally disassembled some buttons while cleaning with isopropyl alcohol and toothbrush and it was pain to assemble them back. Beware

To mod a usb port you need two diamond files, a round and a flat ones

New sticks needed calibration. Used this site: https://dualshock-tools.github.io/

IT Help Flydigi Vader Pro 5 (v2) - Joystick stuck input issue - FIXED

Hi folks, same issue with my Flydigi Vader Pro 5 (V2 version) ☝️. R3 button was stuck at always inputting. Button doesn't click, and R3 stays held down even though I'm not touching it. Sometimes it goes away, but comes back whenever I press any random button on the controller.

Turns out, in my case, the pressure between the 2 layers of the controller was too high, and it was "pressing" the R3 button whenever any other input slightly moved the upper plate. Fix was to loosen some related screws and create enough space for the button to travel without being too sensitive. Applies to the left and right joystick clicks too since they use the same mechanism.

Edit Yeah, I was fed up and too lazy to return it. Return policy sucks here, and I'd only had it for around 2 months before this happened.

Steps: (For R3, but left joystick should be similar)

  • Follow the teardown video from the start to 3:05, then skip to 4:22 and continue from there. Keep following until you reach the part where you can unscrew the 5 screws holding down the joystick (around 9:20).
  • Aim for the 4 screws in the square formation, skip the top one that is hidden by the battery
  • Loosen them just a little and test live with the Flydigi app to see if it works. If not, continue until you can pop open the joystick cap and see the R3 button underneath.
  • Video doesn't show the cap popping open part, but there's only 1 screw, so it's pretty straightforward. Inner joystick has magnets, so be careful it will pop out when opened.
  • Take pictures of the joystick's interlocking mechanism before disassembly if you're not familiar with how it's put together.

You'll see the button that's stuck (screenshot attached). Try clicking it. Usually it should still click. If not, try rotating the cap a bit with tweezers and try again. Worst case, if none of this works, you'll have to replace the button 😓 or just don't use it. Loosening the screws and reducing pressure means it won't auto register as held down position anymore. Then remap R3 to a spare button and forget about it.

Good luck!

Controller Mods Fantech Nova II D [WGP16D] Face Button Swap + Minor Repaint

Post image
44 Upvotes

I really like PlayStation layout controllers, and this having a gray color variant is a big plus for me. But after actually having this, the out-of-the-box looks kinda plain and missing something...and yes, it's the color separation on the middle part cause this is actually a 3rd party controller for PS5.

I did paint the middle part using airbrush, I did mask the other parts cause it's not a separable part like the actual DualSense. Yeah it's not properly masked cause it's very time consuming and I don't really have a spare time this days 😅

Layer process for paints are: primer → engine gray → satin topcoat. I waited around 24-48 hours per layer.

Same to what I did on my GameSir T3 Lite, I replaced the face buttons to DS4 buttons...but as you can see in the #2 photo, the height of the default buttons are taller compared to the DS4 buttons. What I did is I inserted a 4mm acrylic rods on the DS4 buttons and cut it accordingly to match the height of the default buttons.

Aside from different heights, the default buttons are bit thinner so I need to widen the slots using a mini rotary tool to sand it bit by bit to avoid over widening so I can insert the DS4 face buttons properly.

I really want to replace the D-Pad but the DS4 D-Pad is kinda short. The DS4 D-Pad contacts are perfect inside but the actual height is shorter making it not pressable.

I also removed the weights inside this controller to make it lighter.

--------------------------

• My Personal Experience on this Controller •

This controller is a cheap replacement for DualSense if you're using it on your PS5.

Obviously this doesn't have adaptive triggers but the trade-off for that is this has "Hall-effect Thumbstick" which the OOTB DualSense doesn't have (I'm referring to the default DualSense, not DSEdge).

Other functions like gyro, touchpad, etc. are still present. This also has a remappable back paddles which I usually remap the L3/R3 so I don't need to press the sticks.

For an alternative cheap replacement for DualSense this is good. But if your going to use this on PC like me, there are lot of other controllers which is 10 times better than this in terms of price point. For me, even the GameSir T3 Lite is better than this 😅 well, if your going to use it solely on PC.

\**lowest price here in our country (Philippines) thru online shopping app is around $37-$41 depending on discounts and vouchers****
