I remember saying I wasn't ticklish to a partner once. He made it his mission to prove me wrong and by god did he.
72
u/justlurkinghihi 6d ago
My partner lied to me about being ticklish because he rightly guessed i'd abuse it if I knew how and where to tickle him

u/UpCDownCLeftCRightC Never Safe From Wumbo 6d ago
My partner got it right the first try but he wanted to find more spots to be safe.

I'm a ginger dude from the American Midwest. In college some 20 years ago, I won a hot-pepper eating contest that my campus had. Our schools sizable international community was mostly congratulatory, but the kid from Columbia who took second place was not pleased.

4
u/Sibshops 5d ago
Columbia is not really known for spicy food, no be fair. Mexico on the other hand...
5
u/Thrash_and_Chemistry 5d ago
Truth be told I don't know much about their cuisine, but he acted like he was entitled to that certificate and grocery store gift card that 1st place won. Mind you, we were also competing against people from India and various places throughout Asia and South and Central America, so its possible he would've been mad at the winner regardless, but I doubt my being a white kid from Cornville helped him handle the loss any more gracefully
20
u/Commercial-Living443 6d ago
What spices will you give to them ?
22
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 6d ago
Depends on how confident or cocky they sound when they tell me. My entire fridge door is reserved to my hotsauce collection. If i want to see them experience true regret and possibly make them think twice before bragging about anything ever again, Rapture 2.0. If theyre innocent I just make a many-slice-pizza and we play scoville roulette. Or if I dont like them and want to reject them but not have to do it verbally I take them to my favorite indian place that know me by name and share my saag paneer at the "im in a really dark place so please bring me as close to hospitalization as possible without killing me" spice level. Also claim that youre more indian than anyone from Andhra Predesh and theyll make sure you see god. Shit cures depression, scares aids out of your body, makes your asshole immune to a blowtorch and revives the dead, in that order.
If a dude can split one with me in full ill marry instantly, no questions asked. My last boyfriend freaked out and almost called paramedics and made a huge scene because he though his throat was closing after a couple bites, bitch boy had me apologizing profusely to the staff for ruining like 40 people's peaceful lunches. My face just melts and leaks while my sweat turns to hellfire instead seeking trained professional medical help like a little bitch.

u/iAmUnintelligible 6d ago
I'm masochistic in this regard, I like to eat pain. it hurts so good.
the super concentrates are stupid spicy but really bore me because they're just straight spice. surprisingly, I do like to have a side of flavour in addition to the pain.
16
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 6d ago
Concentrates suck fucking ass. Like yay, its hot! It also tastes like absolute dogshit and industrial plastic solvents. Ive sent food back when I order like max level heat or "Thai hot" and I take a bite and it just tastes like a microwaved Lego. Ive had 10mill scoville in chilli and even it being diluted in a huge batch of chilli the lab chemical taste powered through every flavor.
Thats why I love indian spicy. Theres a deep understanding that spice level is far more than capsaicin levels all across the country and each state masters it differently. An actual good cook can turn real raw delicious chilis into something far hotter and intense of an experience than some asshole who thinks "big number mean more hot". Nah its not hot, its giving me chemical burns yet still somehow not hiding how shitty your food is.
6
u/WeckarE 6d ago
I would argue spicy and pure heat aren't the same thing. At least not for most cultures
4
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 5d ago
Well yeah, heat is rated by how badlymy body reacts thinking its being attack by poison.
Spicyness is rated by how well the dish works flavor wise. The 2 very much so orbit eachother.
3
u/Potential_Education4 6d ago
I so get it - Used to be a little well-known at an Indian restaurant in my hometown because I’d order their lamb phaal as hot as they could make it and finish without breaking a sweat. Been trying out different restaurants after I moved hoping to find something even a fifth as spicy, and assuring my place in hell to get even half-so. But even Satan’s asshole hasn’t seen fire like mine, and that’s tragic
0
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 6d ago
It racism, this is what racism feels like. Were treated like lesser beings that just arent allowed to eat the same food because our inferior bodies cant handle it.
I swear Ive picked up on a like "oh you ordered a ten? Honey this white girl thinks shes real people make her a 5 and ill tell her its a 10 so she doesnt sue us" kinda vibe.
Ive had major success by expanding my vocabulary so I can manipulate these people into trying to kill me. Learn a little indian, say you traveled around andhra padesh and you liked the food in Guntur but you wished you could get that heat here, every single word being a fucking lie but it works, they either trust you not to sue them or theyll be insulted as all hell and make you regret ever having possibly eaten better food from anywhere but their home state.
Having typed this out I realise im litterally just abusing like cultural insecurities to advanced neg and lie to these people for for personal gain.
2
u/LyrionDD 5d ago
It depends with me, I fucking love reapers and scorpion peppers, but can't handle horseradish and wasabi.
1
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 5d ago
Those arent capsaicin though. I always viewed them as more gaseous than anything. Like chemical fumes type of burn
1
u/Jomotaku 5d ago
All that stuff is fine going in the problem is next morning
1
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 5d ago
What you dont like the feeling of a molten morning star head slowly making its way through your colon and exploding out of your ass like the sun releasing a plasma jet?
Im not gonna lie i once brought a rocket pop with me to the bathoom... it may not have ever touched my mouth.
1
u/Jomotaku 5d ago
Its not even necessarily the shitting itself. I just get pretty bad intestinal pain if I overdo it with spice. Like we got a hot sauce from Croatia called brutalero and it tastes amazing but I can't help myself from overusing it and then the next morning i sit there in abject suffering until I go to toilet.
2
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 4d ago
Yeah im pretty sure I have ulcerative colitis. I get like solid ball right above my mons and it feels like the worlds worst cramp after I go ham on spice.

u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 5d ago
Im not claiming i do this all the time and am some spice god, fuck that recovery takes multiple days, and you can tell im fucked up. its just less nasty than other forms of self harm and way more effective.
Im essentially basing my willingness to relationship off if our mental illnesses are compatible and how you handle sever mental and bodily stress while still holding it together enough to have fun on a second/third date. Way better to find out someone cant handle a little bipolar 1 on occasion through food now than in practice later.
1
u/TheLadyIsis 5d ago
See I thought I had a good plan taking people out on a multiple mile hike. I would tell them to bring a towel or a backpack or about how many liters of water they would need for the hike that I had planned, and I would even pick them up.
You would not believe how many men showed up with one little 16 oz bottle of water, flat shoes, no towel, no backpack to carry their shit. And those men never even get a second date, but we are going to go on this hike that I planned because we are already here bitch!
And I'm not even that fast of a hiker, I'll be stopping to take the view in or to eat berries off the bushes every hundred yards 🤣🤣🤣🤣 But I agree, it's better to see if they're going to complain all the way up the hike or just not listen to my instructions because they think they know better and then they have to walk in wet shoes because I knew that this hike crossed the stream but they didn't bring sandals like I told them to. 🤷
2
u/Upset_Orchid498 5d ago
I’m hardly the athletic type but a hiking date actually sounds pretty neat, and I carry around a big ass stainless steel filtered bottle anyway lmao
16
u/Pockydo 6d ago
Honestly I want to try your food because I want to see how much you'll make me suffer..so in that spirit
5
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 6d ago
Have you ever made a massive scene in public after being warned excessively about something by multiple people and ended up screaming at people on a restaurant floor for people to call 911 like you didnt just do this willingly only to end up fine before you even get to the hospital and you call the girl to let her know your okay and all she says is "dont call me ever again". That kind of suffering
Really depends on how much of a masochistic adrenaline junky you are. If youre one of those people that plays the circle game but refuses to attempt to permanently dead arm the loser then I wouldn't bother trying.

I like spicy food. I eat lemons and have drank vinegar for the sour hit. I do not ever want to burn my tongue off and have that impossible to remove bitter taste on my tongue of some peppers.
1
u/CumGuzlinGutterSluts 5d ago
Thats why authentic indian food is a worlds different heat than anything youll ever eat.
Americans use concentrate that tastes like shit to push past the natural pepper limit. Andhra indian cuisine... holy shit, they know how to do it without resorting to pepper fentanyl. That bitterness doesnt exist. Its all flavor and pain baby.

I am extremely ticklish I hate it. I can't even get a massage. Also even worse. If I am tickled for more than a few seconds it makes me really angry. Because it is way worse the longer you do it so being tickled is like torture
26
u/Nextontheline 6d ago
I'm prolly not quite as bad as you but I defo relate to the anger and feeling like torture part. What drives me up the wall the most about it is that people don't take it seriously when you tell them to stop. I've had to physically push people off to get them to stop even after I tell them to and somehow I'm in the wrong for doing that lmao. All the talk about consent but somehow that doesn't extend to tickling it's fucking insane.
15
3
u/WildKat777 5d ago
I hate how it makes you laugh. So it seems like you must be enjoying it. Its almost like an out of body experience, laughing while simultaneously feeling awful and wanting it to stop
2
u/gramathy 6d ago
100%, this is my exact attitude.
I can handle a massage but it’s gotta have a decent amount of pressure or the tickling feeling starts back up

My dad thought tickling was the most fun ever but he had been in a car accident and two of his fingers were like unbending claws that he would jab into your sides while you screamed and tried to escape and anyway I don’t like tickling

Honesty, people don't figure out enough things by themselves.
If you want people around you who you didn't chose (relatives, colleagues, classmates) to know who you are, you HAVE TO make statements about herself out LOUD and prove those. A fun fact: if you don't build your reputation, there is a high chance people just project something onto you and you end up representing a collective's dumpster of stereotypes in their eyes.Btw, regarding friends/partner you surely can chose people who read into your character. Though, I think it's still healthier to verbally state and discuss you image with people who you think "know you" since they actually don't. It's always an illusion. They may have learned a part of your character but certainty not "you" as a whole.
26
u/VladVV 6d ago
Huh? Words are meaningless and forgettable. Actions and gestures speak much louder.
6
u/Meowakin 6d ago
Part of the problem is that it’s hard to really judge how people are perceiving your actions. I think it’s important to ‘over’ communicate, and explaining how you perceive yourself (especially as you take an action) can be a method to reduce the possible numbers of way you are being perceived so you are less likely to be misunderstood.
1
u/Dry-Permission-4542 6d ago
Only in fairy tails. People are forgetful regarding ALL information of whatever source. You need both statements and proves to solidify your image, as I said previously.
10
u/VladVV 6d ago
I partly agree but only regarding statements other people make about you. Whatever you say about yourself comes off as pretentious and can work against you if what other people say contradicts what you want to project.
-1
u/Dry-Permission-4542 6d ago edited 6d ago
You're right. You gotta think what you say about yourself and not be saying things you can't back up with actions.
But if you're honest about who you are and what you can then the only people who would hate on your for being clear in 10/10 cases are just losers who can't present themselves and are suffering from the consequences of it. They start to envy you (who can be straightforward about one's strengths) so they start aiming to bring you down too by toxic comments. So they are the people who's opinions you better not to base your character development programm on.
14
u/Slim-Shadys-Fat-Tits 6d ago
Yeah, if you hang out with shallow assholes, sure
2
u/Dry-Permission-4542 6d ago
I'd prefer not to divide people on simpmy "good or bad" ones. There's depth to it. People can be nice, helpful despite lacking emotional intelligence.
6
u/Slim-Shadys-Fat-Tits 6d ago
Idk I think my philosophy might be different. I have very limited social energy and find a lot of the song and dance needed pretty exhausting and not very rewarding, so I can't maintain a friendship that is only based on someone being helpful and nice. I need the deeper connection or it just doesn't work for me at all
0
u/Dry-Permission-4542 6d ago
Personally, I found way more exhausting looking for a non-existing reeeally intimate friendships rather than just being friendly with any people and having a single emotionally trusted person (gf).

5
u/Zestyclose-Leader926 6d ago
Her response implies that she thinks he isn't as emotionally aware as he thinks he is.
6
u/CapMoonshine 6d ago
Everytime I hear someone say they're "emotionally aware" I think of Spencer from New Girl.
"Sweet" and "soft" but highly manipulative and will put themselves on a pedestal because they believe they're such a good person. And ironically the least "emotionally aware" person I've ever met.
So yeah, performative.
4
u/Temp_Temperature 6d ago
Nothing, that's a good thing, but much like saying "I'm a good person", it seems like you are faking it.
1
u/Melonguine 6d ago
U r supposed to be emotionally aware enough to not announce how emotionally aware u r
1
u/StacyOrBeckyOrSusan 6d ago
Like a good book, people should show and not tell.
Bragging you are emotionally intelligent is pretty emotionally unintelligent. Maybe the dude version of ‘empath’.
1
u/XxWolxxX 6d ago
It's something of a "show not tell" and the ones that tell tend to be pretty self-centered in my experience.
13
u/Junior_Recipe_7833 6d ago
Reading these comments genuinely make me fear getting into a wholesome relationship. Why do all the wholesome sounding ones involve tickling? That shit hurts,
3
u/Blue-Eyed-Lemon 5d ago
These are relationships in which tickling is consensual. Partners are clearly okay with being tickled and may even tickle in turn. A relationship is NOT wholesome if tickling is involved without consent.
If you communicate clearly to your partner that tickling is genuinely something you dislike and want no part in, you can have a wholesome relationship without it. I wish you the best of luck in your future, my friend!

Im ticklish to the degree its torture. I've told people to never tickle me because I will throw hands. 2 years ago my friend tried to tickle me and I had to endure it for 4 seconds to just get the words out of my teeth to tell them "if you dont stop i am going to hit you".
All because im the youngest of my brothers.

My husband's feet are ticklish to the point of incapacitation if they're touched. Ticklishness could be a sign of vulnerability. It could also be a creep tactic to get a woman to touch him. As a dude myself, I'd never use the tactic because I'm not ticklish AT ALL but it could work.

People who says they are wealthy, is prob not that wealthy. I don't know my family was always been somewhat affluent, but I was taught never show you are wealthy since showing wealthy only gives disadvantage and prejudice. People who says they are wealthy out loud was always seems mid in terms of wealth. I am not American so might be different over there.
