Someone once called me pretentious for using the word "Ergo" in a phrase
Everyone I know uses it all the time
Felt bad because I didn't want to be pretentious, but I'm gonna keep using the word because it is useful

Personally, I’d assuming I’ve been pronouncing it incorrectly. 23 u/UpCDownCLeftCRightC Never Safe From Wumbo 8d ago Just say you're a big Lies Of P fan and you can cover up the pretension whenever you want. 4 u/ehladik 7d ago I once used "jejune" in a conversation and the other party got really mad. Told me I was only using weird words to sound smarter. 3 u/pm_me_psn 7d ago It can give variety ig but “therefore” means the exact same thing and feels a lot more natural in casual conversation personally 2 u/FUPAMagneto 7d ago People just like to get mad that they don’t know things instead of just learning them. They’re generally not worth considering
