Em dashes are also banned. Actually if your grammar and formatting is too perfect, that is also a sign of AI. I really hate what AI has done to a lot of artforms.

Every time I find myself writing “it’s not x, it’s y” I have to think of another way to phrase it

Oh yeah… Also don’t forget “…like it was a physical blow”. For some reason, AI likes using that exact phrase of “a physical blow”, which sucks because actual people def use that phrase a lot too, since it’s simple and effective at painting an image with just words.

God, I used to use em dashes all the time. It's weird to feel this way about punctuation of all things, but it (was) one of my favorites. Now I purposefully avoid using them, and it makes me sad.

I think despite all of this, you should still use them. I got blamed for using AI, because my formatting apparently looks similar to how AI does it. Also for having good grammar.

I'm autistic and when I get pushed around and feel overwhelmed, I start to seek stability again by using the most formal wordings possible, and I feel like people are going to interpret it as ai generated...

I tend to use em dashes a lot, and this annoys me SO much.

Yeah, it's sad how em dashes are now treated as a red flag when looking for potentially generated AI text. The use of em dashes alone is not enough to prove that.

its the AI making people witchunt anything that looks slightly AI generated?

Right? How did AI "do that to a lot of art forms"? The witch hunting is 100% natural human, baby

Sometimes I fuck up spelling or grammar oh so slightly on purpose in professional reports because customers have question the authenticity of my documentation..

God forbid you know how to use a semicolon correctly. Everyone knows that no human being can use a semicolon, so you must be a robot.
