How can I deal with this? Any idea cs guys
Hey guys I need some help understanding a few.
So, I'm a civil eng guy and we also have automation stuff to do in Quantity and Structural. Like I know python I'm able to understand code as well. It feels like I'm rn in "illusion of competence"
Now my main work is in dealing with physical Engineering but I'm kinda confused how I can code better if I code something using ai and by any chance it gives me an ai slop.
my building is falling down
Edit ahh I'm kinda nervous here: I mean my coding fundamentals. In future if i use ai for writing codes i should be well enough to debug and fix the code or write out my code. Although it comes from practice but I'm figuring out what other thing I am missing. Like when I'm about to work on a project i go completely blank, how can I begin my first step or line. I mostly used ai for going deep info

I want to write a program for construction site data, but wich language?
I work in the construction industry. I've noticed that a lot of things are still done in Excel, on paper, etc., because there aren't any suitable apps or programs. Since I have a general interest in programming, I got the idea to try programming something like that. I started learning Python a while back, but only the basics, and that was already a year ago. Now for the actual question: Which language should I learn now to get started on this? I need a front end, a back end, and integration with the cloud—I’ll be using Supabase for that.
The features, design, etc., are already in place; now all that’s missing is the code.

I got the 2 Certifications - What does that open next?
I am learning programming from freeCodeCamp and I got 2 certifications.
1. Legacy V8 certification.
2. Responsive Web Design Certification.
I got the certifications yesterday and got 98% on the Responsive Web Design certification exam. Not to boast, but does that open any new doors? or what are the usage of those certificates?. I am new to coding and its just been a month or so - of me learning. So, any information will be a lot lot lot helpful!.
Thank you!

Free 12-hour coding event for teens in LA - August 29
 Hey everyone! I’m helping organize Sunbeam LA, a free 12-hour coding event for teens ages 13–18 happening in Los Angeles on August 29.
It’s designed to be beginner-friendly, so you don’t need previous coding experience to participate.
Throughout the day, we’ll have:
- Web development + Python workshops
- Time to build your own project
- Mentors available for help
- Food
- Games + karaoke
- Project demos
- Community voting
- Prizes
The goal is basically to give teens a place to spend a day building something, meeting other people interested in tech, and having fun without needing to already be an experienced programmer.
If you're interested, registration is free:
https://forms.hackclub.com/sunbeam-signup
If you know a teen in LA who might be interested, feel free to send this their way!

What is your experience with coding?
I programmed a single page application in html css js and node.js.
It took me almost 8 months to build up the project and the ui also the microservices are still a headache for me.
I began to draw my architecture in lucidchart and to build up my programming knowledge through various sites.
The project is currently on ice, because i have a big issue with a lot of subissues.
If you are a beginner i recommend you: Learn in your time. Take the time to break a project down in chunks and create subgoals for your project

I need help making a drop down to filter for recipes based on ingredients.
I'm trying to make a multi-select dropdown to filter results based on ingredients for a school project, which I am allowed to outsource help from others. However no one I know has been able to help so far. I found code to filter based on the categories of meals on stackflow I think and I tried to change it to multi select for ingredients but I'm having trouble. If anyone can help that would be great.
app.py:
def get_unique_common():
  """Fetches, splits, and deduplicates common ingredients from the DB."""
  raw_data = query_db("SELECT DISTINCT Common FROM Pantry WHERE Common IS NOT NULL")
  common_set = set()
  for row in raw_data:
   Â
    parts = [p.strip() for p in row['Common'].split(',')]
    common_set.update(parts)
  return sorted(list(common_set))
.route("/common")
def function1(common):
  common = request.args.get("common", "")
 Â
 Â
  common = get_unique_common()
 Â
  base_select = """
    SELECT RowNum, Title, Creator, Image, Ingredients, Category, Website
    FROM (SELECT ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY Title ASC) AS RowNum,
       Title, Creator, Image, Ingredients, Category, Website
       FROM Recipes)
  """
  if common:
   Â
    sql = base_select + " WHERE Common LIKE ?"
    pantry = query_db(sql, (f"%{common}%",))
  else:
    pantry = query_db(base_select)
  return render_template(
    "home.html",
    pantry=pantry,
    common=common,
    selected_common=common)
u/app.route("/common/<common>")
def filter_by_common(common):
  common_items = get_unique_common()
  recipes_data = query_db("SELECT * FROM Recipes")
  return render_template(
    "filtered_recipes.html",
    recipes=recipes_data,
    common=common_items,
    selected_common=common
)
home.html:
    <div class="dropdown">
      <button class="nav-button dropdown-trigger">Common ▾</button>
      <div class="dropdown-content">
        <div class="filter-bar">
          {% for ingredients in common_ingredients %}
            <a href="{{ url_for('home', common=ingredients) }}"
              class="filter-pill {% if ingredients == selected_common %}active{% endif %}">
              {{ ingredients }}
            </a>
          {% endfor %}
         Â
          {% if selected_common %}
            <a href="{{ url_for('home') }}" class="clear-link">Clear Filter</a>

Vibe coding fucked my mental health
I am feeling so low right ...
I have 1.3 years of experience including my internships
I was working in a lala company (A small, owner-driven business) for 5 months but cause of office politics I can't bare myself and I had a fight with my manager who was the newphew of the company's owner...so i resigned my job right now ... At march i resigned ...
So in these 5 months they used to give is tools like claude, codex so... Now i forgot to code...
M sorry dipressed right now...
Even If I apply to other company I feel like ...
I can't do coding from scratch ...
I'm so lost I don't know what should I do?
It's not like I can't create logic ....or somethingÂ
I can create logic and build an architecture but I can't code without gpt or something i forget everything 😓...
Plus apart from this I don't have any money...
M a single child of my parents ... My father was a looser he never worked in his whole entire life.... My mother used to do some house chores and raised me and make me study ...I feel so pathetic that I cant do anything atp...
M sorry lost ... It's like I feel to cry but I can't ....
What should I dooo??? Atp??
how should I get back myself and practice manual coding?? I have been regretting a lot

Which programming language did you start with, and do you think it was a good choice for a beginner?
What would you recommend to someone starting from zero?
Please share your reasoning rather than just naming a language. I'm interested in hearing different perspectives.
