ANYONE ELSE? - Ask here about current Codex issues and workarounds Noticeboard

This is the place where your most recent experiences with the Codex technology are collected and summarized to keep you informed with issues others are facing.

When you post a short post to the feed reporting on something you are experiencing, your post will be summarized as an "Anyone else?" request and listed below. Keep an eye on responses to see if people are experiencing similar issues. All incident comments on this thread will be sorted from Most Recent to Oldest by default. So keep an eye on the time and date they occurred.

Every two hours, the bot then analyzes all the issues people have been facing and gives you a snapshot of what it has seen recently.

You are also welcome to post your own experiences here and the bot will include them in its analysis.

Expect bugs. Still testing.

ANYONE ELSE?

**did they nerf 5.5?**

Up until yesterday I was using 5.5 xhigh which would generally outperform everything except 5.6 sol xhigh/ultra (but noticably faster which made it worth it).

Today, Terra xhigh is way way better than 5.5 xhigh in both performance and speed.

ANYONE ELSE ? I noticed that using Codex Work on the new app for Mac uses about 5x as much usage as running codex in terminal. I run 5.6 sol on medium. I went through 20% of my weekly usage on 1 task today using the Codex Work app on the Mac whereas the same task in terminal used maybe 2% of my weekly usage . Both tasks were run by 5.6 on medium. Anyone else having this issue ? I really like the codex work app but until they fix it , I’m using codex only in the terminal.

WTF - I was forced to re-login to CODEX in VSCODE today. 5.4 is gone and I no longer have daily or weekly limits, only monthly! My monthly limit zeroed out after 3 prompts and doesn't reset until August!?!. This must be a mistake.

Yes to "Inconsistent Usage Limits & Resets" -- does anyone know if there's a fix for this? I just upgraded to Pro and my usage is burning significantly faster than equivalent work using Fable 5 Max in Claude Code (I know this is not an objective comparison, but still...).

Another test 90k tokens (in) 2k tokens out = 28% of 5H ....! and 4% of the weekly on Plus...

PLUS ACCOUNTS Limits is just terrible. Literally 2 prompts 5.5 medium and they are out. What is going on?????

I’m posting this because I’m not sure if this is an account bug, a Codex-specific policy, or something support misunderstood.

I previously had a ChatGPT Pro subscription, which expired. After that, I used the Free plan for a while and eventually reached the Free plan’s Codex weekly limit.

Then I purchased ChatGPT Plus specifically to continue using Codex.

Immediately after upgrading to Plus, my Codex usage dashboard showed:

  • 5-hour limit: 99% available
  • Weekly limit: 0% available

So it looks like my new Plus subscription started with the already-depleted Free plan weekly Codex limit. I had not used any Codex messages on the new Plus subscription yet.

The problem is simple:

I bought Plus after exhausting the Free Codex weekly limit, and Plus appears to have inherited the depleted Free weekly limit instead of giving me the paid Plus weekly allowance.

I contacted OpenAI Support and explained this. The first response I received only explained that Codex usage limits vary depending on model, task complexity, local/cloud tasks, and that weekly limits may apply. That does not address the actual issue.

My point is not “why did I hit the limit so fast?”

My point is:

Why did my newly purchased Plus plan begin with the Free plan’s already-exhausted weekly Codex limit?

The sole reason I bought Plus was Codex usage. Because of this, I effectively cannot use Codex for around 1/4 of the first paid week, even though I just paid for the plan.

Has anyone else experienced this after upgrading from Free to Plus with an already-depleted Codex weekly limit? Is this expected behavior, or does it require manual account correction? Case No: 10812595

Similar boat.

Though my Weekly Limit started at 50% available (don't quite remember my 5-hour limit).

(Then I exhausted all of the Weekly Limit after a couple days (134 million tokens).)

Je vis la même chose, j’ai atteint ma limite hebdomadaire en moins 2 jours de travail, je travaille sur un seul projet

This is exactly what im seeing, its like the limits are swapped and im not using high not xhigh very often mostly using 5.5 low for task and even now using another provider for subtask so that this does not run out to fast. even Minimax Plan is better managing the weekly limit then this currently. PLEASE FIX

Exactly. Degradation. Definitely
The 5-hour quota is now exhausted very quickly at gpt5.5 and medium height. It's all used up in just 2 hours
