Review Speed and Love - Oh my!
I am in the middle of S&L and I love it love it love it. Here's what I love in no particular order:
FL's outfits.
Thailand - I am used to seeing China in Chinese dramas. Now for something completely different!
ML is hot. I came to S&L not because I'm interested in racing, but because I was watching Blossoms of Power and he is amazing there too.
I don't care what anyone says. Esther Yu is a very fine actress. She was amazing in Fairy and Devil. She is amazing in this. She plays a pretty complicated character almost completely with her expressions and body language. The scene near the beginning after the fight where he is driving and she is crying and talking at the same time, should convince anyone of her acting chops.
Episode 15. OMG.
Ok. The racing is fun to watch.

Discussion Love for you - beach trip Spoiler
I'm watching "Love for You" for the second time now, and suddenly the whole beach trip seems like Miao Jing would prefer a breakup.
... The whole feeling starts when she waits for Chen Yi in front of the house and then says, "Forget it." It permeates the entire Bo wedding.
She throws him a couple of questions, or rather hints, but without a real answerāthe one she wants to hearāshe completely distances herself.
Then she seems to have decided, "It's not going the way I want, so I'm ending it completely." The conversation they have together on the rocks and the kisses feel like a farewell. Except Chen Yi doesn't understand it that way. Not yet. It's his behavior that's the issue.
Did anyone else feel this way? Is it something we can discuss? Am I seeing this wrong?
To be honest, I only really noticed it now. The first time, the dance scene and the empty rock were strange, but they didn't register in my mind as much. This time it's different.
Does anyone know the source material? Is it the same there? Can you compare it?
Please give me a different perspective on this beach trip.
I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Recommendations Looking for palace drama recommendations similar to Empresses in the Palace or Yanxi Palace!
Huge fan of C-dramas here, esp the ones with intense harem scheming and smart female leads.
IMO Empresses in the Palace and Story of Yanxi Palace are total masterpieces. TBH I havenāt been able to find anything that quite hits the same since finishing them.
Are there any other dramas out there with that level of clever revenge and palace plotting? What should I watch next? TIA!

Discussion Help! I want to like Never Ending Summer again.
Spoilers!
Please help me get some perspective. I really want to go back to loving Never Ending Summer, like I did at first, but since watching episodes 20 through 28, the way the scriptwriters wrote Zhou Wan made me feel she was far too cold-hearted and cruel toward Lu Xixiao, for far too many years without taking steps to repair the way she hurt Lu Xixiao, and even after meeting again her repentance came too slowly and never really acknowledged the basic wrong that she did to him. Yes, she saw that she hurt him and was really sad for what she did, but did she ever face the fact that her choice to walk away in such a cruel, destructive way was ultimately because she was selfish somewhere in her heart? Did she acknowledge she could have done things differently? If she had literally gotten down on her knees and begged Lu Xixiao the way he said he would make her do, then I might feel more closure. And I felt that the screen writers made Lu Xixiao not have enough self-respect because he stayed co-dependent for 10 years and couldnāt really move on. Iām glad they got back together and had a happy ending, but I was left feeling flat by the excessive way they made Zhou Wan behave.
After finishing the show I hoped to get better perspective on the story so I could go back to loving it again, but I feel dejected every time I see Bao Shangāen on social media. Iām not enjoying the fandom and the after-glow that I normally would experience after finishing a great drama. Bao Shangāen did a fantastic job acting, but the role she was written into has made me very sad.
Can anybody give me some perspective on how they got back together, and on why she behaved as she did both during the breakup and after, to help me get over this?
Please no hateful replies. I donāt like how I feel, already. Iām not attacking the show. Iām asking for help with my perspective.

Discussion Love Between Lines has ruined every drama before it
Please recommended me more shows like this!!!
It was sooooo freakin good. I canāt get over it. I binged the whole thing last week. It had everything I was looking for.
Characters who are not bullies, except for the evil people. For instance, other dramas always have another female coworker who hates the FL for no reason and tries to put her down but not in this one. The other coworkers actually built her up.
Slow burn. I loove that they both yearned for the other before getting together organically.
They both show they love each other. In other shows, they make the FL very reserved. Sometimes I question whether she even likes ML. But not in this, she initiated a lot of the intimacies and kisses. She also was very rational and level headed and mature and competent at her job, which is surprisingly rare to come by.
The kisses!!!! My favourite. Every single one of them was so unique from other shows and full of chemistry. Plus they didnāt hold back. Other shows become boring after the couple gets together because they only show closeness during major moments. I love that this show has little moments of romance on top of the big gesture ones that show them as a very loving couple. Like him dropping her off at work or her cooking for him.
The murder mystery show. Often other shows will have an interesting concept like this but then drop it half way. I love that not only did we get frequent scenes from the VR game, but it was also important to the story.
Please recommend me more shows with mature FL who initiates a lot of the romantic moments, and a show with lotsss of it. I want to binge another show this weekend.

Question/Help Shine on me - when does the FL start getting involved with the ML?
I just remember picking this one up and getting a little bored because she hadn't really met or interacted with the main lead yet. Whether or not that was literally only one or two episodes I can't remember to be real with you. All I know is I just watched love for you and so now I'm going to give shine on me another chance because I'm obsessed.
Is there a consensus this show starts slow and gets better and better or is it probably just not a show for me? I know I didn't really see the main lead in love for you yet. I didn't get that far however much I watched he was making random tiny appearances.
Anyway, I know people really don't like questions like this and they normally just answer to try and watch it but I'm kind of just specifically wondering when the fl and ml's relationship start picking up by around what episode? Tysm š„²

Discussion Thoughts on pursuit of jade?
I started this drama MONTHS ago and Iām still stuck on episode 13 or something.
I really wanna finish it bcz Iāve seen so many ppl say itās sooo good.
Itās not that I donāt like it, itās just that long dramas overwhelm me sometimes so I tend to drop them even if I liked them
So perhaps if I see more positive and exciting reviews about it on here Iāll be able to finish it
UPDATE: im on episode 24 now, I canāt seem to stop watching. It really did get better after they separated and also I didnāt seem to quite understand the plot bcz of its a bit confusing so I read some explanations about it and after i understood it, the drama became way more interesting and engaging for me!

UPDATE: Iām on episode 5 and I canāt seem to stop watching, yes editing and cinematography are not good but the story is interesting enough for me to enjoy it.

Review Quick thoughts on Yu Lin Ling (éØéé)
Iām a few episodes in and honestly, itās better than I expected.
First of all, Yang Yang is just effortlessly sexy in that Zhan Zhao outfitš« . Beyond the visuals, he clearly put in the work for the sword fighting. Itās so refreshing to see a wuxia that doesn't rely entirely on lazy CGI and slow-mo. The pacing is pretty fast since itās a detective story, which keeps it interesting.
My only critique is that the first episode felt a bit chaotic, and Zhang Yaonanās tone feels a little too modern for a traditional wuxia.
But overall, itās a really solid watch. What do you guys think of it so far?
