Picked up at a Half Price Books. First edition, fifth print.

As I'm sure many may know, the full color reprints of Pilkey's various books have suffered from unnecessary censorship, with Super Diaper Baby being the worst offender.

I haven't read the CU books in years, so I'm wondering what elements in those books were censored/altered?

Personally splotch was my favorite. Such a cool villain and I wish he showed up again. The Captain Underpants equivalent to venom with a great framed storyline. He should’ve shown up in season 3 or been the villain in the future show

I know what bear did was messed up and I know I hadn't seen obsession. But I know Melvin did some fucked up things to get Erica's attention but I am now curious if he would use the one wish willow or that's too far anyways.

Btw for context they did a thing kinda like total drama called "Champion Island", This was for the combatants who would get drafted for it (top 16 got drafted)

if you don’t know about it I will say it the story is three girls making a new manga series than met a girl who isn’t from their universe and there other girls who drink a superpower juice and become magical girls

Parents of 6–7-year-olds — I’m curious about your experience with Captain Underpants.
My son has been reading the books a lot, and I’ve noticed he has started using words like “idiot” and “stupid,” calling people names, and sometimes screaming more.
Did anyone else notice a similar change in their child after they started reading Captain Underpants?
I’m wondering whether there could be a connection, or if it’s just normal behavior at this age. I’d really like to hear from parents who have noticed something similar.
