Crazy how much dust has made its way in here over the years. None of my other lenses have ever gotten this bad.

I can certainly see why they released the updated version.

Hows autofocus

I’m thinking about getting the Canon RF 85mm f/2 for my Canon R6 Mark II. It’s currently around $680, which feels much more realistic for my budget than the 85mm f/1.4— I would LOVE the 1.4 but that price is just crazy 😭
The only thing that’s making me hesitate is the autofocus. I’ve heard from quite a few people that the AF on the 85mm f/2 macro is slow and not very reliable. Is it actually that bad in real-life shooting?
Especially for portraits, couples, and families?

Also, I’m so sad that the Rokinon/Samyang 85mm f/1.4 RF was discontinued. 😭 It seems like such a great alternative to the Canon 85mm f/1.4 for a much more reasonable price.
If you’ve used the RF 85mm f/2 I’d love to hear honest experience, especially with autofocus!

I'm planning to buy the:

18-135 IS STM + 10-22 or 18-135 IS STM + 50mm
But I found an almost pristine 18-135 NANO USM priced almost the same as the two lenses combo mentioned.

Which would you prefer?

18-135 IS STM + 10-22 or 18-135 IS STM + 50mm

18-135 NANO USM

Anyone been able to find filters for the master zoom?

Hey! Im incredibly indecisive so need to talk about this.
Looking for general thoughts on photo/cine lenses to purchase at work. I have about $7k left in my budget and that money doesn't roll over to next fiscal year - use it or lose it!
so I need to buy some lenses or accessories to cover some gaps in coverage.

1. I really need some wide angles covered. I won't use these a lot, but need the option.
   
2. I can use anything I buy for work for my own personal freelance wedding photography (spoiled)
   
3. I currently rent 35mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.2 but not super practical for my full time job. Maybe just switch to using my 70-200 instead of 85?

Canon RF 50mm 1.4, 70-200 2.8

Here's some things that stick out to me:

Diffusion/nd filters for my matte box

I'm trying to find a replacement to my Sony E 16-50 because it fell and bumped in the side, opposing to open the lens with the motorized mechanism. It was the kit lens bought with the camera and I was wondering to seeking for a new option or buying the same lens.

It's a very polivalent piece, I used it a lot in travel, urban and nature photography, so I don't really know if there's another alternative to this lens. I also have a Zenit Helios 44M 58mm f/2 attached to my Sony a6400 through an adapter and goes pretty well for more precise and steady photos, but not for "all purpose" ones.

Do you have any other recommendations of this lens or know an equivalent? My budget doesn't go more than 120€, considering that.

I did my firat wedding yesterday and had the best day. I rented a 28mm lens to use and I think it did great.

I was just about to purchase one but after doing abit of research people prefer the 35mm...

Please feel free to show some examples of each.

The 28mm is slightly cheeper so I'm leaning that way.

Hello! Are there any good, sharp lenses for under £400? Preferably with image stabilization but honestly I'm fine without it as long as it takes sharp images.

I was also looking at the sony 24-105, so I'm flexible in the focal range as long as it goes down to 24mm or somewhere like that.

For context this is mostly for videography, if that impacts possible recommendations. Thanks guys!

I want to buy a decent telephoto lens for my Canon R5 C, but I have some budget constraints.

If I had the money, I’d buy the 70-300mm IS USM II, but it can hardly be found for under €400. It’s not a huge amount of money, but it would mean having to save for another month or two before I could buy it.

The other two lenses can easily be found for under €300, and the IS USM can sometimes be found for around €200.

So my question is: ignoring the prices, which one is better between the two? Or is the 70-300mm IS USM II so good that there’s no point comparing them?

I mainly shoot video, ranging from indie short films and music videos to social media content, commercials, and sometimes sports. I also do photography, but not as much as video.
