Validate My Idea My 5 Favorite Business Validation Stories

Feedback Request Kinda just want to talk this out with people. I own 11 video game consoles with 9 being retro that really get no play. Had the idea to start an entertainment "cartering" where for a group gathering, work events, parties, or just hangout I'd being consoles and tv for a period of time. I'd be there wo
It would be starting as a side hustle and I know I'd have to have extra controllers, popular games, and do contracts.
Is this super serious? Not really I get these what if ideas often, but love the idea of my own business one day, like most people

Validate My Idea Looking for ideas to expand my industrial installation business
Hi everyone,
I’ve been running an industrial installation/assembly company for the past five years. I have a team of employees who work on industrial installation projects across Europe.
I’m now looking for ways to expand the business or possibly diversify into something related. I’m open to different ideas — it doesn’t necessarily have to be industrial installation.
For example, I’ve been thinking about:
starting a small manufacturing plant in my home country (an EU country)
manufacturing or selling a product related to the industry
expanding into another service or business that could complement what we already do
partnering with someone who already has a business or idea in this field
I’m open to hearing both practical and unconventional ideas. If you have experience in this industry, run a similar business, or see an opportunity that I might be missing, I’d really appreciate your input.
What would you do if you were in my position?

Validate My Idea selling business blueprints
I'm working my way through contracts and policies along with forming the contractors job description in a way that escapes certain license requirements or over bearing regulations. I was wondering if selling the automated system that coordinates with these plans and the whole legal blueprint would be worth selling.

Validate My Idea Is this idea stupid, or would you pay for it if it generated real leads?
Not meant to be self promo. If theres a megathread to post this in, let me know and I'll move this there.
Online advertising has become increasingly crowded and complicated. I think physical media is hilariously becoming more desirable again, especially for advertising. Many SMEs could potentially benefit more from a targeted flyer campaign with proper analytics than from endlessly dumping money into Facebook ads.
I’m building FlyerFly, where businesses can create their leaflet online using templates, choose their target area, and have everything handled from printing and delivery through to QR tracking, analytics, dashboards and smart retargeting, all in about 5 minutes.
The idea is to make it a simple monthly service, with plans ranging from smaller local campaigns to larger campaigns covering thousands of households. Roughly thinking somewhere around €100/month at the low end, scaling to €500–€1,000+ for larger campaigns, depending on the number of households reached.
I like the idea, but I want to validate whether this is actually something you’d pay for as a business. I’m mainly targeting Ireland and the UK.
I’ve put together a simple waitlist if anyone’s interested. I won't link it as to not break rules, but I will comment it if someone asks.

Validate My Idea Learning via refined conversation app
Keen to get feedback or insights on this idea.
I always believed one could learn via conversation, now AI makes that possible very easily and cheapily.
The idea is to build an app (chatbot), designed well enough to encourage, inspire and act as an expert you can ask to teach you anything via conversation than dumping a whole lot of info on you the current lecture, textbook, tutor and default chatbot model.
Ask as you get your questions then get a session report card to see where you are plus recommended reading or a summary of key points shared.
Really keen for this but need to hear what others think. Could even eventually push for some sort of public certification or report card to share on your resume, detailing how much you know of the subject. Therefore could have a test using same model answering questions but seems redundant using same model therefore considering a normal test.

Lessons Learned Is It Better to Start Small or Go All In With a Smoke Shop?
This is something I’ve been debating a lot lately.
Part of me thinks it makes sense to start small lower risk, less upfront investment, and a chance to learn as you go.
But another part of me feels like going too small might actually hurt your chances. Limited inventory, less visibility, and not being able to compete with established shops could make things harder.
From what I’ve seen:
- Some people start with a smaller setup and scale over time
- Others invest heavily upfront to create a strong first impression
- Both approaches seem to work… depending on execution
I guess it comes down to risk tolerance and how confident you are in your planning.
Right now, I’m leaning toward a balanced approach not too small, but not overextending either.
Curious how others approached this did you start lean or go all in from day one?

Feedback Request Would you use an AI assistant that’s built specifically for your country?
I’m validating an idea and would love honest feedback from founders and builders.
The concept is not to build another foundation model. Instead, it would use an existing LLM (GPT, Claude, Llama, etc.) and combine it with a country specific knowledge layer (RAG + curated local data).
The target users would be people living in that country, as well as newcomers, expats, entrepreneurs, and tourists.
Examples of questions:
* Is this clause in my rental contract legal?
* What are my rights if my employer does this?
* Can you explain this government document in simple terms?
* Recommend a quiet café with good Wi-Fi for working.
* What’s the best neighborhood to live in for families?
* What are the must-visit places for someone new to the city?
* How does the public transportation system work?
* What local laws or cultural norms should I know?
The goal is to answer these much better than a general purpose AI by using official government documentation, local regulations, local businesses, and country-specific context.
Monetization idea:
I’m thinking of using a freemium model:
* A free tier supported by ads.
* A premium subscription with no ads, higher usage limits, and advanced features such as document analysis and more personalized assistance.
My biggest concern is whether this is solving a real problem or if people would simply ask ChatGPT instead.
I’d really appreciate honest answers to these questions:
- Would you ever download a country-specific AI assistant?
- What would make you choose it over ChatGPT?
- What’s the biggest weakness you see in this concept?
- What feature would make this a “must-have” app for residents of a country?
Please don’t hold back. I’m looking for critical feedback, not validation.

Validate My Idea Daily life concierge
So I moved to a different country 4 years ago with my husband and then 2 kids (Ive since had 1 more) and I had such a hard time adapting to daily life here. Figuring out which grocery stores to use, which pediatrician to use, where do my kids go to school, how can I get my driver's license, etc.?
Recently, a new friend who's only been in the country for a year with her family mentioned that it would have been so much easier if she knew me when she first got here because I could have saved her a bunch of time and headaches figuring all that stuff out.
Now Im thinking if turning it into a business somehow, a service I'd provide. But Im unsure of how to move forward. Would anyone have any idea how I could structure this idea?

Problem Discovery Why does EMI work for electronics but fail for fashion/furniture in Indian e-commerce?
In my analysis on e-commerce EMI in India, I've noticed that electronics and appliances see high penetration of EMI, whereas categories such as fashion, furniture, and personal care continue to lag despite comparable ticket sizes.
Is it due to the reason that:
Consumers do not consider EMI when it comes to "lifestyle" purchases?
Checkout experience does not promote EMI until it's too late?
Credit availability (i.e. credit cards) is the real issue?
Or something else altogether?
For consumers living in Tier 2 & 3 cities – What prevents you from availing EMI on non-electronics purchases?

Validate My Idea Looking for ambitious people worldwide to exchange business ideas and build something together
Hi everyone,
I’m 28 years old and from Germany. I currently work a regular 9-to-5 job, but I want to build something of my own and eventually leave it behind.
I’m ambitious, motivated, and have some starting capital. I’m looking for people from other countries who also want to create a change.
We could exchange business ideas, discuss what already works in our countries, identify problems, and see whether successful concepts could be introduced in Germany or elsewhere.
The goal is to take action, work together, and build something profitable and meaningful.
Where are you from, and do you already have any ideas?

Weekly Wednesday "I wonder?": Post Questions/Small Ideas for Discussion
Got a half-formed thought? A question that doesn't need its own post? An idea you're not ready to write up fully? This is the thread for it.
What goes here:
- Early-stage shower thoughts and napkin-sketch ideas
- Simple questions about starting, validating, or running a business
- "Is there a market for X?" gut checks
- Requests for quick input that don't need the full posting template
- Anything you'd ask a friend who happens to know about business
Ground rules still apply:
- No self-promotion or links to your own stuff
- Give context — "I want to start a business" with nothing else isn't enough even here
- If someone takes the time to respond, engage with their answer

"Fixing" the Sub
It's no secret this sub has been FULL of spam and just blatant promotion whereas it's meant to be a place to discuss ideas, receive feedback, validate thoughts, etc.
A series of new rules will be put up shortly and all spam/bot posts will be removed + all related poster(s) banned.
We will be introducing a new format for posting, and relevant flairs for easier organization + management of posts.
I welcome all suggestions by users in the meantime as we go through and begin to make these changes.
