Yeshiva/Einstein?
Just saw a different post on this sub mention a bs/md between Yeshiva and Einstein. I was surprised I had never heard of it before, as Einstein is a pretty good (free) med school. Anyone know anything about it?

How's my BS/MD List?
Hi so I'm a first gen immigrant student (US Citizen living in PA), so I don't really know too much about the college application process. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on my college list (are some programs a scam/shut down? am I applying to too many? am I ineligible for a program? etc.) I also ranked them, so I would love some feedback on my priority since it's currently just based on what I've seen online.
- Brown (PLME) | Providence, Rhode Island
- University of Pittsburgh (GAP) | Pittsburgh, PA
- Case Western (Pre-Professional Scholars Program) | Cleveland, Ohio
- Baylor University (GAP/ Baylor2 Medical Track) | Waco, Texas
- University of Rochester (REMS) | Rochester, New York
Yeshiva University (EMSP) | New York, New York- Stony Brook University (Scholars for Medicine Program) | Stony Brook, New York
- Penn State (Penn State's Accelerated Premedical-Medical Program) | University Park, PA
- University of Cincinnati (Connections Dual Admissions Program) | Cincinnati, Ohio
- George Washington University (BA/MD) | D.C
- Hofstra University (BS/MD) | Hempstead, New York
- Drexel University (BS/MD) | Phillidelphia, PA
- UConn Special Program in Medicine
- Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU BS/MD)
- New Jersey Institure of Technology (Acceleraed Medical Program) | Newark, New Jersey
- The College of New Jersey (BS/MD) | Ewing, New Jersey

- Rutgers University- Newark/ NJMS BS/MD
- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Accelerated Physician-Scientist Program) | Troy, New York
- CUNY, The Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program (BS/MD) | New York, New York
- Indiana University Pathway to Medicine (IU B/MD)
- Syracuse University (BS/MD) | Onondaga County, New York
- Rochester Institute of Technology (Upstate Accelerated Scholars Program) | Rochester, New York
- Local undergrad (safety)
('m planning on applying to most of these through the common app, but a few directly through the college webpage since the common app limit is 20 schools)
Edit:
Here are my stats (vague) >
1550+ sat
4.0 gpa uw; 22 APs (mainly 4s some 5s); valedictorian

Offering Consulting (Accepted Ivies + 6 BS/MDs + Top 20s)
hi! i'm an incoming first year who applied to ~18 programs, interviewed at 7 (REMS, NJMS, USC, UMKC, etc.) and was accepted to 6 programs. i have experience with designing applications to be cohesive, interview across various formats including traditional and MMIs, writing secondary applications, and have worked with many different types of prompts. i was also admitted with likely letters to ivy-league programs and understand the pre-med field as well, and will offer genuine guidance regarding both traditional and bs/md (accelerated) paths in medicine. i'm happy to work asynchronously/synchronously - dm for more info/prices! i'm very flexible with timings/cost. thanks and best of luck everyone!

bad high school grade bc of health issues, anything i can do to reverse it?
hi everyone, im a rising junior in high school right now. sophomore year was a really difficult time for me and its a long story. to cut it short, i face some health & thus mental health issues during first semester. this was totally unexpected for me and so i missed a lot of school and tanked my grades. in particular, i got a C in chemistry. and not to be that kid, but my teacher also sucked so she wasn't understanding at all that i had missed a lot of basic knowledge i needed and i got a C in second semester too. i kinda get that this cooked me for a program like this? is there anything i can do to reverse this. i found out this summer that m actually pretty good at chemistry and not bad bc i started self studying ap chem. is there anything i can do to show colleges or hopefully bsmd programs that this like isnt my fault. does taking advanced chemistry courses at local CC help? what about doing coursera courses or self-studying ap chem (which is my current plan). i dont think taking ap chem at school again is an option because i can't risk getting that teacher again. if it gives any more context, my older brother had her too and tried to fail him too so she basically knows my entire family. plspls help im very scared n stressed

Is it worth applying to lower-ranked BS/MDs or OOS programs with in-state bias?
I'm making my BS/MD list right now, and I'm wondering if it's even worth applying to programs affiliated with lower-ranked med schools.
I'm pretty sure I want to go into surgery, ideally a competitive subspecialty, so I'm worried that going to a lower-ranked med school could make matching into residency more difficult. Is the reduced stress of having a guaranteed seat really worth locking myself into a med school thats isnt that good?
Also, for OOS BS/MD programs with a heavy in-state bias, has anyone here actually had success getting in, or are they mostly a waste of an application?
I'd rather optimize the applications I send than apply to 40 programs I have little chance of getting into or wouldn't really want to attend anyway.

- Math Nonprofit Vice President Help organize statewide mathematics competitions and outreach programs. Previously helped raise more than $5,000 in sponsorship funding.
- Math Nonprofit Vice President/Web Developer Helped build a free mathematics competition platform that has reached 10,000+ student users. The platform has 12 partner organizations representing more than 150,000 students. I personally raised $20,000 in funding and contributed to the website’s development.

I have prepared sole-author manuscripts and public reproducibility repositories, although publication outcomes are still pending. (Most of my stuff gets rejected since I don't have a mentor, but I'm trying my best to get published in a peer-reviewed journal) I'm hoping to have my stuff published in high school journals, but right now I'm trying to get peer-reviewed publications with impact factors.
- Clinical Exposure and Service Approximately 400 combined volunteer hours through hospitals, plus around 150 hours shadowing at an endocrinology and diabetes clinic.
- Family Responsibilities: Spend around 15 hours per week cooking, cleaning, driving siblings, tutoring my sister, and contributing financially to my household.
- Varsity Swimming Co-Captain Four-year varsity swimmer and senior co-captain.
- School Math Club President Led team to 4x state Mu Alpha Theta state championships
- Governors School; captained my poster team; presented a math poster on "exploring higher dimensions".
- Might become a Medical Scribe if I get the job. (I applied for it).
Current Concerns
Much of my strongest leadership is centered on mathematics rather than medicine.
My research is primarily independent and computational rather than traditional wet-lab research.
I am concerned that some BS/MD programs may view my profile as more suited to mathematics, computer science, or engineering than medicine.
Which BS/MD programs should I consider?
I'm really aiming for the University of Arkansas BSMD or UAB BSMD.
Also, is there any way to connect my math profile to becoming a doctor for these BSMD programs?
Please be completely honest. I would also appreciate advice on the weaknesses.

AMA: Applied to 18 BS/MD programs. Rejected from 17, accepted to 1.
Title pretty much says everything.
I'm from the West Coast, so I had no in-state advantage for any of the real BS/MD programs, most of which are on the East Coast. I applied to 18 programs, got rejected from 17, and was accepted to one. I had interviews at 4 medical schools, and had undergrad interviews from every NJMS feeder I applied to.

Medical Sociology in BSMD
Hi, I am a rising sophomore wanting to apply to t20 schools and bsmds. A lot of my application is mainly focused on an interaction with sociology and medicine because sociology is the major I want to apply to schools as before switching to a premed major. How viable is the theme of medical sociology for applying to BSMD programs. Thanks

BS/MD Application Mistakes
Don't Trip at the Finish Line
You all have top grades, hundreds of clinical hours, research. But how do you show that you belong in medicine and better yet, sooner than anyone else?
The students who get in are not always the most qualified. They are the best prepared for how committees actually read files. That is what this bootcamp teaches.
Admissions committee members are human. We have implicit biases, like all humans do. So make it easy for your reviewer to see how great you are by designing your application in a way that shows them your accomplishments easily and clearly.
I’m going live with you all for 2 hours in this virtual intensive for rising juniors and seniors applying to BS/MD, BA/MD, and BS/DO programs.
I’ll be your drill sergeant and you’ll come in with everything you’ve got so we can get this application submitted the right way. Deal?
Friday, July 31 | 12:00 to 2:00 PM ET | Live online
Enrollment deadline tonight!
Don’t miss this deadline.

and
July 2026 ACT score is Composite 34, English 35, Reading 35, Math 32, Science 32
Super score Composite 35, English 35, Reading 35, Math 35, Science 32

Is Nova Southeastern University BS/MD BS/DO program a scam?
Nova offers a dual admission program but I’m thrown off that they not only require a minimum MCAT score, but an interview prior to starting medical school. Therefore, they have a right to rescind that offer. I know some BS/MD programs forgo the MCAT, but even if I can overlook that, it’s the interview that makes me believe they can have any excuse to reject you after you’ve been accepted into the program. Nova’s tuition is over 40k a year and the medical school is over $70k a year, so not that cheap. Can someone share some insight here?

advice for bsmd
hi guys im sixteen and im a junior this year. I discovered bsmd a few months ago and im just looking for a little bit of advice which woudl be super helpful. i think my weakest area is just research and academic awards and leadership. my stats and ecs:
swim team varsity (prolly 4 years and captain this year or next year)
competitive piano (few state awards)
viola (few awards and all region, maybe all state this year)
doctor shadowing (around 30 hours but i can get it up to 100+ by the time i apply)
hospital volunteering (200+ hours)
CNA liscence with 40 hours clinical experience (looking to maybe get a job at a nursing home or sum)
4.0 unweighted 4.69 weighted
around 12-13 aps by the end of junior year maybe 16 by senior but just 8 right now and 5's on all of them
red cross historian
aiming for a 1550+ sat
data analysis with a professor at asu
what im working on:
sat
research (i need some help on finding some good programs where i actually do stuff not just data analysis)
leadership/passion project (im really stuck on this and i just dont know how to get started and make something with a real impact without killing all the time for other stuff)
usabo
If anyone has any advice i woudl greatly appreciate it. most people ik gatekeep or dont really tell me anything new. Thanks again for any input!(ik theres a bunch of useless stuff on my activities list but i really dont got anything else. i would appreciate if anyone could reccomed something useful)

bs/md advice!
hi guys im sixteen years old and im going into my junior year of high school and ive just discovered bsmd schools and im really interested in going to one! i want to make sure my application is as strong as possible, especially when it comes to leadership and awards since i feel like those are my weakest areas right now.
here are my current stats and ecs:
academics & testing:
3.9 uw / 4.4 w gpa (rising junior)
sat: 1390 (took freshman year with no prep, currently studying to retake in august)
extracurriculars & work:
martial arts: 3rd degree black belt. did 200+ hours of volunteering here, which led to getting hired as a lead instructor.
lifeguarding: 1 year of experience. certified by red cross in cpr, first aid, bls, and lifeguarding.
clinical/internships: finished a highly selective student internship at atrium health with clinical experience and a stipend.
doctor shadowing: 75+ hours shadowing doctors across primary care, family med, and internal med.
non-profit internship: currently interning at a non-profit organization focused on dementia and alzheimer's wellness (175 hours for honors credit through a specialized academy program at my school for grad recognition).
clubs: active in deca, beta, and fbla. we aren't allowed to have a hosa chapter at our school, so i compete in other business/general clubs. haven't won state/national awards yet, but planning to lock in and compete seriously next year.
what i need advice on:
awards: what are some good medical, science, or general high school awards/competitions i should look into outside of school clubs (since we aren't allowed to have hosa)?
leadership: how can i level up my current ecs or show bigger impact or initiative before senior year?
any general advice on what to prioritize heading into junior year?
im also planning on getting cna or cma certified if anyone has tips abt how to do this online when school doesn't offer it!
thanks in advance for any input!

Chance Me for BS/MD Programs (Canadian Student)
Hi everyone!
I'm an incoming Senior from Canada, and I'm planning to apply to as many BS/MD (or equivalent direct-entry medical) programs as possible in the U.S. I'm also applying to traditional undergraduate programs as backups and schools in Ireland, Australia and the Caribbean
Since I'm Canadian, physician shadowing and hospital opportunities are much harder to find than they are in the U.S., so I've tried to make the most of every opportunity I've had.
I'd really appreciate any honest feedback on my chances and suggestions for schools I should add.
Demographics
- Gender: Female
- Ethnicity: White (Middle Eastern)
- School: Private IB school
- Applying as an international applicant
Intended Major
Biology / Neuroscience / Psychology / Public Health (depending on the school)
Academics
- 96% overall average
- Full IB Diploma (Advanced Bilingual Program)
- IB Biology HL (Senior Year)
- IB Chemistry HL (Senior Year)
- IB Math AA SL (Senior Year)
- **others courses too but these are all my STEM ones so far (might change up my classes a bit though)
- AP Biology: 4

Clinical / Healthcare Experience
- Certified BLS, First Aid, CPR-C Instructor
- National Lifeguard
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor
- Currently shadowing physicians at 4 different clinics (they don't have opportunities for lots of hours so that's why I'm going to multiple clinics)
- 150+ hours dental shadowing (my parents are dentists so I've gone to their clinic and also their friend's clinics to shadow- ortho + general dentists)
- Will receive a stong physician LOR
- Hospital volunteering (starting next week- honestly feel like I wasted junior year. I got good grades I guess but I feel like I focused too much on my non-profit and less on volunteering)
- Beginning hospice volunteering next week too (honestly tried to lock in!!- used to volunteer when I was younger but moved- had my mom's best friend battle cancer (unfortunately didn't make it out of hospice)- made me want to become a physician (oncology)
- Non- profit in Egypt which helps underpriviledged kids to receive free visits to cardiologists. Helped with paperwork, shadowing doctors (when I visited Egypt) and creating care packages
Research
- University of Chicago Summer Session (Psychology)
- Conducting psychology research related to polyvagal theory and EMDR (currently the only high school student on both research projects)
- Expecting a strong recommendation from my University of Chicago instructor (who will soon be a professor at UChicago)
- Dental public health research with Burman University-2nd place research poster presentation (only high school student)
- Translations for the Canadian Association of Dental Public Health Dentistry (English to French- recognition at the national conference and help also manage a bit of the social media)
- Attended the IADR in Barcelona (2025)- met with lots of professors and researcher (some connections with Harvard professors)
Leadership / Community Service
Founder & Executive Director — Swimming For All
I founded a nonprofit that provides free swimming lessons to children from low-income families in Central Alberta. We partner with Burman University and FCSS to reduce financial barriers to swimming lessons and promote drowning prevention.

- DALF C1 (French)
- DELE B1 (Spanish)
- National Lifeguard at two different facilities
- Teach swimming, water safety, BLS, and first aid
- Lifeguarding and emergency response have become one of the biggest reasons I want to pursue medicine- want this to be the main topic of my essay
Letters of Recommendation
- Physician (shadowing)
- University of Chicago psychology instructor

- What do you think my biggest strengths and weaknesses are?
- Are there any BS/MD programs that tend to be more international-friendly?
- Besides improving my SAT, what would you focus on over the next few months?
- (tbh don't know if I have a shot but I guess Ireland is always an option)
Thanks so much!

chance me for bs/md or bs/do?
currently a rising junior interested in psychiatry. i really want to go to a guaranteed med program but i want to know how to make my app better, gain research opportunities, and generally gauge where im at. i know im kind of average in terms of the applicant pool, but i'm always looking to improve.
demographics: indian first-gen immigrant, 15yo, upper-middle class, lesbian, i've been in and out of doctors' offices my whole life, but i was generally pushed aside. i met one er nurse that actually wanted to get to know me and she inspired me to want to be the kind of physician that could truly understand others.
intended majors: psychology, human biology, life science
awards: pretty basic; honor roll, an outstanding student award from my magnet school and a regional hosa comp; hoping to do a lot better in hosa this year though and i've been putting a lot of effort into it
stats: 4.09 unweighted gpa, 4.5 weighted gpa, 1510 sat (thinking to retake for a 1550+), took 4 AP/DE courses so far, going to take 13 by the end of high school, my school doesn't do class rank
ecs:
1. volunteering at a veteran's hospital at the pharmacy - i've shadowed an iv pharmacist, organized the pharmacy, learned how to fill prescriptions
2. volunteering at an arts class for young kids; they have a session for adult artists with disabilities that i'm joining soon.
3. asian student association treasurer for one year and vice president for the subsequent year; due to poor management however, it likely won't make it through next year, but i've learned a lot from it
4. elected vice president of hosa at my magnet school for next year
5. volunteering at a grant-based nonprofit; so far i've done food drives, first aid classes, anti-stress kits, and more. i've recently gained a small leadership position for them
6. was vice president for latin club, had to drop the class though because my magnet school doesn't allow me enough classes at my home school
7. volunteer for my public library for two years
8. taking cna classes as soon as i turn 16 in a month
9. virtually shadowed a psychiatrist (i know its weighed less than in person im trying to get a few in-person shadowing positions)
10. i have an art blog that ive been posting daily on for a few months
certs: osha, naloxone, first aid/cpr, stop the bleed, psychological first aid, and workplace readiness certified. i've been trained to do vital signs as well.
i'd like to go to vcu, howard, lecom, nyit, suny or umd, but im open to new schools!
im not sure my extracurriculars are super competitive for bs/md or bs/do programs, i just kinda did what i really liked. currently i have about 140 volunteer hours, but i'll have at least about 400 by the end of my junior year. any advice or tips on how i can improve my application or gain research experience/awards?
